I made my brushless on 3S and took it a couple of times to the Skate park and did some jumps.... The Body is trash but the chassis/dampers/drive train held up pretty good! No breakage so far! So my recommendation: Make it brushless, it is worth it. 😘 from the Basherqueen!

I about died laughing at your reaction when it started sizzling lol. Would still probably be a good beginner vehicle for an 8-10 year old, and don't want to dump a ton of money into an RC. Would be a good upgrade project, maybe don't have to go all out.
I honestly thought I had 5x’s more than Walmart’s “New Brite” line up going into this with $100. Now I’m learning I can only “see what I can get “ for $100 doll hairs. Always puttin things in perspective for me.
Right! Very lucky.. Had this for a week and every time I drive it, it costs me an average of $10 to fix it. I lost a servo, rear shock, rear body post , had to resolder motor wires, rear tire mount bent, would rather grab the unassembled slash kit for something a bit tougher as you have to replace everything on this truck anyways!
Worth it just to get back into hobby grade for the money. The RC world has changed since I was i was into RC cars back in the 90's. Digital speed controllers , radios with out changing crystals and sweet sweet Lipo batteries.
My 9 year daughter has one of these it’s perfect for kids , it’s not to fast so they don’t break it . The most important upgrade is to upgrade the out drive cups on the diff to the Kraton diff cups I used the hot racing ones because they have two grub screws as opposed to the one for the Arrma version . I love this little truck it’s a blast to drive I find my driving it when she’s done with it.
This was my first truck way back when I first started in the hobby and upgraded to a BLX brushless system but on 2wd it was pretty undriveable so u upgraded right to 6s outcast lol and now with a 12 truck collection the hobby has completely taken over haha
My roommate just ordered one yesterday for his 8 year old daughters Birthday. My RC addiction has rubbed off on her slightly lol. Should be the perfect starter for the both of them to enjoy together.
i got that rc for my son, and currently he is upgarding first he bought a body to replace the one it came with, then i think he is doing something to the servo and the batteries to i guess give it more speed.

😂😂😂😂 he said doll hairs. My kid says the same thing. But hey, my 8yr old kid has been through 3 of these things. You absolutely CANNOT bash with them. They will take a crap after just regular driving. It runs well. It runs really well, but then shit starts falling apart. The motor mount is straight trash. Motor will come loose within 10 runs I’d say. Go and try and fasten it, you’ll crack the mount because it’s such a thin plastic. And then the drive cups.... those strip out pretty easily. So if you do buy one of these, buy with caution and have spare drive cups on hand. I only bought it 3 times because it IS a cool truck when it works, and my kid really liked it. I’ve upgraded him though. He’s got a much better truck now.

@ 10th Scale Garage I'm new to RC n have the S920 Extreme Judge 1/10th coming along with 2 7.4V 5200mah batteries and replacement shocks to oil filled 2 replacement diffs oh and the charger for the new batteries just for starter I'm thinkn I may have to get shock tower braces if it cant handle the jumps n such Have been told it can chew up drive lines Like I said I'm new to RC so could use some feed back I've Smashed Like n Subscribed n the Bell to learn Thanks for Reading PEACE

Not a fan. If you upgrade one thing, you have to upgrade them all, since it''s a two in one ESC and reciever and it uses a 5 wire servo. I'm not familiar with the Kyosho. I upgraded the Granite to a brushless system and stripped the diff.
My power craze from wal mart will smoke that in a race, im glad I seenbur other video 1st and ordered a wltoys buggy, but for under 100 i guess. Id rather spend an Xtra 50 and get something alot better, but if ur looking for something for urb8 yr then i guess
I'm really torn. I've been looking at the Senton for a year now. Money isn't the issue but coming off a Losi XX buggy from 1993 I don't want to revive, I want something to literally tease my dogs with and take camping once in a while. I do like this thing tho and your review is great by the way. I just feel this thing IS cheap all around but maybe exactly what I'm looking for. Somehow I don't think going belly up in the pool wasn't a great idea. Lol

@@duecerc3345 Personally I think you'd be happier with a Traxxas. Or even a Mega version of the Granite (2wd version is discontinued, you'll be paying 230 for the 4x4 version). However Parts support will not be quite as good as Traxxas (for Branded upgrades and replacements or aftermarket). I've worked in this industry selling, repairing, and promoting for 11+ years. Even getting into racing in the Semi-Pro racing circuit (now retired). I remember when Arrma wasn't even around. They've come a pretty long ways I can tell you that. Although in my experience, their construction is not quite as good as Traxxas in my opinion. Although for what they are they are pretty good (at least for the higher tiered more expensive models). I've sold a few in my time. They're definitely not quite as popular as Traxxas and don't have quite as good a parts availability network. But certainly enough to find replacement parts easily enough. Funny enough, it actually says on the website that the Granite Voltage is waterproof. But apparently it's waterproofing is very poor. Yes he threw it in a pool, which I would never do. But you would probably achieve the same thing if you ran through a fairly deep puddle or little stream or something. Either way, it does not speak very highly of the waterproofing capabilities on the Granite Voltage. It's just poor in my opinion. If you did that to the Traxxas Bandit I can pretty much guarantee that it would be just fine. If you want my professional opinion I would say probably just go with Traxxas. Not only for parts availability but upgradability and mods as well. The Bandit, Rustler, Stampede, and Slash are some of the most if not the most modifiable models in existence. There are literally hundreds of possibilities you could do with these models. Just my professional opinion buddy. I highly encourage doing your own research as I'm very big on that haha. Hope you end up with something you like.
Basically you get 99 dollars worth of rc. The esc combo sucks. Body looks cool but acts like paper. But what can you expect for 99 bucks. Is what it is. A 5-9 yo would love it. Slow=durable. At best the plastics are the same material as other arrma rigs. Does not compete with a 2or rustler or even the stampede.
Well, I’m not against plastic, but plastic output shafts on the diff? Yikes. You’re totally right though, it doesn’t go fast enough to hurt itself. An overwhelming number of people in the comments want me to brushless swap it, so we’ll see how durable it is when we can really get it movin.

If you are not willing to perform the additional care and maintenance required, then you should not operate the vehicle in those conditions. General Precautions • Read through the wet conditions maintenance procedures and make sure that you have all the tools you will need to properly maintain your vehicle. • Not all batteries can be used in wet conditions. Consult the battery manufacturer before use. Do not use Li-Po batteries in wet conditions. • The included transmitter is not waterproof or water- resistant. If using a different transmitter than the one included, consult your transmitter's manual or the manufacturer before operation. • Never operate your transmitter or vehicle where lightning may be present.

That was ok till you drown it. What was the.point of that? That's not something you would do with a higher grade car either. Upgrade the car and keep it dry or just splashed upon.
I wanted to see if it was waterproof..... it isnt. Also, it was kinda funny, right? I needed an excuse to upgrade it. If it survived the pool, bonus points, if not, I'm not upset about losing those electronics anyway, especially that transmitter.
It can go to puddles in the rain but it cannot be submerged not too many vehicles can be submerged in a pool of water an RC car why would it be in a pool of water $99

I have some 3300 mah turnigys soft case and a couple 5000 mah goldbat hard case from Amazon , it’s a tight fit but it works.

The pin just enables low voltage cut off. It won’t cause anything to blow up. I didn’t run this anywhere near long enough to hit LVCO.
Hello! How about the quality of the electronics in this truck? what are its pros and cons? How about the stock esc, servo, differential and pinion? vs monster tracker kyosho? regards!
Not a fan. If you upgrade one thing, you have to upgrade them all, since it''s a two in one ESC and reciever and it uses a 5 wire servo. I'm not familiar with the Kyosho. I upgraded the Granite to a brushless system and stripped the diff.
My power craze from wal mart will smoke that in a race, im glad I seenbur other video 1st and ordered a wltoys buggy, but for under 100 i guess. Id rather spend an Xtra 50 and get something alot better, but if ur looking for something for urb8 yr then i guess

I'm really torn. I've been looking at the Senton for a year now. Money isn't the issue but coming off a Losi XX buggy from 1993 I don't want to revive, I want something to literally tease my dogs with and take camping once in a while. I do like this thing tho and your review is great by the way. I just feel this thing IS cheap all around but maybe exactly what I'm looking for.

The Senton is SWEET! They’re incredibly durable and there are tons of upgrades. Replacement parts are super easy to find, too. I highly recommend one.

@@duecerc3345 Personally I think you'd be happier with a Traxxas. Or even a Mega version of the Granite (2wd version is discontinued, you'll be paying 230 for the 4x4 version). However Parts support will not be quite as good as Traxxas (for Branded upgrades and replacements or aftermarket). I've worked in this industry selling, repairing, and promoting for 11+ years. Even getting into racing in the Semi-Pro racing circuit (now retired). I remember when Arrma wasn't even around. They've come a pretty long ways I can tell you that.
Although in my experience, their construction is not quite as good as Traxxas in my opinion. Although for what they are they are pretty good (at least for the higher tiered more expensive models). I've sold a few in my time. They're definitely not quite as popular as Traxxas and don't have quite as good a parts availability network. But certainly enough to find replacement parts easily enough.
Funny enough, it actually says on the website that the Granite Voltage is waterproof. But apparently it's waterproofing is very poor. Yes he threw it in a pool, which I would never do. But you would probably achieve the same thing if you ran through a fairly deep puddle or little stream or something. Either way, it does not speak very highly of the waterproofing capabilities on the Granite Voltage. It's just poor in my opinion. If you did that to the Traxxas Bandit I can pretty much guarantee that it would be just fine.
If you want my professional opinion I would say probably just go with Traxxas. Not only for parts availability but upgradability and mods as well. The Bandit, Rustler, Stampede, and Slash are some of the most if not the most modifiable models in existence. There are literally hundreds of possibilities you could do with these models. Just my professional opinion buddy. I highly encourage doing your own research as I'm very big on that haha. Hope you end up with something you like.

Basically you get 99 dollars worth of rc. The esc combo sucks. Body looks cool but acts like paper. But what can you expect for 99 bucks. Is what it is. A 5-9 yo would love it. Slow=durable. At best the plastics are the same material as other arrma rigs. Does not compete with a 2or rustler or even the stampede.
Well, I’m not against plastic, but plastic output shafts on the diff? Yikes. You’re totally right though, it doesn’t go fast enough to hurt itself. An overwhelming number of people in the comments want me to brushless swap it, so we’ll see how durable it is when we can really get it movin.

Water resistant for puddles is very different from waterproof and throwing it in a pool.

If the motor becomes excessively wet, apply very light throttle until the water is mostly removed from the motor. Running a wet motor at high speeds may rapidly damage the motor.
While the entire vehicle is highly water-resistant, it is not completely waterproof and your vehicle should NOT be treated like a submarine. The various electronic components used in the vehicle, such as the Electronic Speed Control (ESC) and servo(s) are waterproof, however, most of the mechanical components are water-resistant and should not be submerged.
Metal parts, including the bearings, hinge pins, screws and nuts, as well as the contacts in the electrical cables, will
be susceptible to corrosion if additional maintenance is
not performed after running in wet conditions. To maximize the long-term performance of your vehicle and to keep
the warranty intact, the procedures described in the “Wet Conditions Maintenance” section below must be performed regularly if you choose to run in wet conditions. If you are not willing to perform the additional care and maintenance required, then you should not operate the vehicle in those conditions.
General Precautions
• Read through the wet conditions maintenance procedures and make sure that you have all the tools you will need to properly maintain your vehicle.
• Not all batteries can be used in wet conditions. Consult the battery manufacturer before use. Do not use Li-Po batteries in wet conditions.

• Never operate your transmitter or vehicle where lightning may be present.

That was ok till you drown it. What was the.point of that? That's not something you would do with a higher grade car either. Upgrade the car and keep it dry or just splashed upon.
I wanted to see if it was waterproof..... it isnt. Also, it was kinda funny, right? I needed an excuse to upgrade it. If it survived the pool, bonus points, if not, I'm not upset about losing those electronics anyway, especially that transmitter.
