The fact that powder in the beginning killed everyone with hextech makes this scene even better showing Isha SAVING everyone with hextech this time around 🥺
Isha - - survived the slums on her own - saved Jinx from herself - tried to save the people of the undercity - helped ease tension between Jinx and Vi - saved Jinx again, this time literally - died a hero's death by taking out an unstoppable monster. RIP little girl 😢
@@veetree850I've been wondering if that last smile she does is for Vander. As she knows she's freeing him as well. Especially with that cut of him being obviously in pain. We've seen she's also protective of him when he's calm, but it's maybe a bit of a stretch I'm doing
VANDER WAS CRYING, he had no control over himself but was aware. That is horrifying to imagine. I dont want to know what he was thinking while seeing Isha was basically sacrificing herself, especially when they had sweet moments over the little time they knew each other.
Yup. You can clearly see pain and fear in his eyes. He dont want that to happen. Maybe he even desperate to try to take control over the beast. Isha is 99% death for sure, but if you rewatch the very end, after the first explosion there was a second one and the time looks like freezed. I dunno. There is a 1% of chances that was because of Ekko.

Was absolutely loving how they just piled on the coloured background "look at all the time we spent together" scenes like they really just wanted to make 100% sure we knew this child was about to get absolutely deleted from this plane of reality.
You can see her tears begin to well up after she makes eye contact with Jinx. She was afraid and unsure of her decision at first, but seeing Jinx replaced her fear and doubt with love and resolve.
I also noticed when Jinx was with Isha, the pink of her eyes was very dim pink. But when Seviika tells Jinx about Isha being taken by enforcers, her eyes glow bright pink.
god. the parallels to powder's monkeybomb is INSANE. Isha's terror of watching her big sister in peril turns into "I can help them." at 1:45, and we get the heartwrenching montage of the two of them together, and her tears because SHE KNOWS she's going to die. she's walking towards her death with her eyes open and a smile on her face, with three of the hextech crystals (it's ALWAYS three!) and all for jinx. and jinx can only watch. GOD.
Yeah it a parallel and a inversion of powder trope, as @dlweiss commented in another video: Rather than impulsively deploying power she doesn’t understand, Isha knows exactly how the gun works, and she knows precisely what will happen when she overloads it and fires. And while Powder’s desire to help her family was tinged with a need to prove herself, Isha’s desire to help her new family just seems to be tinged with a desire to repay Jinx for all the kindness and good experiences she’s given (without ever asking for anything in return). That’s why Isha appears to be crying with joy while she does it: because she’s finally getting to say “thank you” to Jinx in a massive, meaningful way.
@@MrJedcpf It is not parallel when they were raised differently and situation is also not the same; people, actions, tools, weapons, mentor and experienced moments everything was different.
Some Fans during act 1: Who is this girl? why doesn't she have character development??? Those Fans now in act 2: Why did you make me love her character?????
yea such a fantastic writing with a jobdesc of : "please abuse and torture powder/jinx until all her sanity forever gone" or " just bully powder/jinx and rob her of everything"
I didn’t buy her wanting to sacrifice herself/protect Jynx in act 1. Definitely bought it in act 2. What a musical montage and giving a relationship time to breathe and develop can do.
Remember how Ambessa talked about strength to Cait? She mentioned sacrifice was the fourth component for it. Issha was definitely one of the strongest 😢
Ambessa was wrong tho. It's not sacrifice, it's love. Love is what pushes you beyond your limits and allow you to make the biggest sacrifices. Vi was ready to sacrifice her freedom because of her love for her family. Vander sacrificed his humanity because of his love for Vi. Silco sacrificed the work of his life because of his love for Jinx. Singed sacrificed all ethics because of his love for his daughter. Ambessa, sacrificed a relationship with her children because of her love for Mel. Jayce sacrificed his ideals because of his love for Viktor. Isha sacrificed her life because of her love for Jinx. It's love that pushes one to face their fear and be stronger, sacrifice is just the consequence of going past your limits. And you can't make those necessary sacrifices to surpass your limits if you don't have someone worth the sacrifice, because love bypass the instinct of self preservation. Ambessa make sacrifices because ironically she romanticize it. But sacrifice for the sake of sacrifice only bring loss.
It was ironic when she wept the tears of someones child in ACT 1 right? Disgusting warmongerers always leads to nothing but suffering, but without suffering they would not appreciate peace and the good within themselves. One does not exist without the other, both should exist and same as the Karmic Cycle. Consequences, cause and effect, karma is a bitch.
The way Isha's eyes fill with water just before the "poow" and smile. It's like all the good memories with Jinx crystalised right after seeing jinx scream for her "not to do it". But in her eyes she's saying "you're the exact person worth doing this for". Like her own, "always with you Sis". Absolutely bawling here even on rewatch. 😭 Beautiful work Riot. 😢
@@sparks2lit and that was months ago in the show. the point was things changed and they still love each other. vi was never going to kill jinx herself.
I just cannot get over this scene, the music, the slow-mo shots, the animation switches, all leading up to that final "pew" with gorgeous lighting and animation. Even in isolation, if you knew nothing about these characters outside of this clip, this scene is great.
I haven't watched the show nor did I have a single idea about the lore. Still I stumbled across this scene and besides making me look into the characters and backstory/context of it, I keep on rewatching it. It's wonderfully made. Pure art. I didn't know who this Isha child was but she had me crying in 2 minutes. Her face looks lovely, beautiful character design. How she runs is painful- a bit funny, as a child that she is, but each step firmer than the one before. The fierceness of a child among chaos, where no child belongs, that deemed most valuable the life of someone else's than her own. The heartbreaking, terrifying realization in the eyes of the girl at 1:31, followed by the image she was seeing; the small frame of this babygirl, with a head that seems too big for her little body, running among the soldiers to save her life. The way she falls to the ground and grabs that gun, and when she stands up at 1:38 the fierceness in her eyes and that expression on her face suddendly isn't one of a child. From a moment to another, she goes from kid to adult. And from one moment to another, she is a child again, staring up to this scary monster; but finding comfort when meeting the eyes of her loved one. The expression of the monster at 2:11, as well, as if it was crying, terrified of hurting a child. Her eyes full of tears but goes with a smile and a heart full of love. I now know about Isha and Jinx, but the knowledge didn't add much to this scene. It communicated everything perfectly. I don't know what are the opinions of people who did watch this, but from the outside, this scene for me is memorable to say the least.

@@IamDoomii When i saw her interaction with jinx playing and chaning her hair color i was quite sure some drama was around the corner. I didnt want to believe they would kill the girl, but kinda expected it.
I still believe Isha is a representation of Ziggs in some way, the same goggles and the metalic hat.. Ziggs is chaotic but is very naive too. It Is possible that in the future his characteristics will remind Jinx of Isha, i think that's why she adores him in lore.
The fact that Vi holds her back and protects her from seeing the actual end gets me. She knows this death will mess her up and I have small tiny hope that this brings them together again…but knowing Arcane, probably not.
I have hopes for that too. Like, they gave us a whole family again...the two remaining ones can't just separate again...right? Cuz the last time they tried to deal with it alone, nothing was ever the same so it's like a do-over, ...r-right?

Whatever the reason, Vi went back to protect her sister even when Caitlyn was helping her retreat because of her wound, whether to shield her from the blast or from watching Isha die. Both are equally valid, but the important thing is that Vi went back for Jinx.
2:15 Isha’s expression when she pulls the trigger is so badass. She knows she’s about to die, but the joy of knowing that her friends will survive is far more potent than her fear of dying.
I disagree I think her expression is to mask her fear. Isha's entire story is her trying to become jinx follow her be as strong as her and I think in this moment she's made a decision that she believes jinx would make blow herself and everyone else up, that expression before the smile is Isha and her fear of not wanting to die, while the smile and the the "gun" was her becoming Jinx. take the inspiration of Jinx, Harley quinn who was given the insanity because of Joker. I like to think her insanity is Jinx, and it's contagious. but I dont know that's how I see it
@@bubblegum8959I think it could be a combination of both! I 100% see this scene as being a general manifestation of what Isha believes in - she always saw the best in Jinx even when she was "retired." She saw her as a revolutionary and a hero, and I think this is both her saving Jinx and her frienda as much as it is channeling what she learned from her... "you never know when it could all go....POW. Best feeling in the world, kid."
I thought of that too when she did it. Almost like back then Jinx was saying you could die at any moment so live life to the fullest and it seems Isha took it to heart and actually seized her fate in her own hands. I think maybe when she closes her eyes before the blast she gets that “buzzing sensation” and then pulls the trigger.

@@jeaniebeanie6she said ‘gets close’ not ‘is close from the moment I can remember’. Eshi(?) came into her life after she tried to nuke the entire government. Little differen, is it not?
Yes, how? Because honestly I have no why people are so invested in Isha. She literally is dropped into the story out of nowhere, and we don't learn anything about her. Her relationship with Jinx is barely established to us viewers. When Isha rushes to save Jinx, she's like "get off me you annoying little thing". Next episode suddenly they're as close as sisters? And that"s about all that happens in terms of interaction with her (that and painting her hair blue). Seems like people are just all over her because she's small and cute? I mean, I see the hundreds / thousands of upvotes on people's post being emotional over this scene. Isha didn't do anything to me. Vander on the other hand, man. Vander, we knew. We knew hwo protective he was of the kids. We knew he only had their best interests in mind because he proved it over and over again. By words, by action, by sacrifice. And we witnessed it all. We spend enough time with Vander, Vi and Powder that we knew them well anough to care about them. And after all this: Vander's mind being imprisoned in this beast body, not being able to help himself from his bloodlust, now THAT is tragic. Random kid we barely knew blows herself up? Ok, I guess.

@@Nightflash28 geez, I guess you're not a fan of show not tell? We don't need more episodes of Isha establishing her importance in the show. Did you forget there was an implied time skip that happened months or even a year after Caitlyn became commander? That means Isha and Jinx have been together longer and the series shows us this through Jinx's dialogue and interaction. Is the fact that her death could mean another spiral for Jinx not tragic enough? How tragedy keeps following Jinx and yet Isha is a parallel to Powder, showing how upbringing could change fates? It's not even /just her death. Her face, her eyes, how the animators are so good at showing her little feeble mannerisms and emotions. The fear in her eyes but the strength in her steps. If you're not as empathetic as other people, you could just say so.
@@ren8854 Oh geez, yeah, I guess I am just not such a big fan of the show, having watched the first season like 20 times, having waited anxiously for three years for this season to drop and having played LoL for years. And look, what you just wrote is pretty much what I stated above: Most of their relationship happens off-screen in a time gap, which we as an audience do not get to see an experience. We should care for Isha mostly because of how she looks (small, cute, innocent). And the tragedy is not really about Isha dying, it's about what it most likely will do to Jinx. But that was my point. Isha feels less like a fleshed out character that we got to understand and deeply care for than a plot device for Jinx to spiral. After 3 episodes, how much did we know about Powder and Vi compared to Isha and Jinx? And if you say, well that's not a fair comparison because there is so much more going on in season 2 and so many more threads to follow, well, than you caught up to the issue. We just did not have enough time with Isha to truly be invested in her. I still love the show, and I still think the story they're telling is amazing, but the writing is not as strong as it was in season 1 because it is spread too thin. I know they want to wrap it up, but with the speed they're moving, they could have given us more episodes or maybe even split it into three seasons.
1:09 she jumps with her. She jumps with Isha because as a kid, she had to follow after her older siblings. As a kid, she was always too little and just bit behind. Even if Vi had faith that she could make the jump, that wasn't what it was about for Jinx. Isha couldn't make the jump before. She jumps with her because the distance isn't what was important. It was who she was landing with that mattered. She jumps with Isha then, so Isha can jump in alone for herself now.
The art style, the music, the setup to the blast, the pew reference Isha does back at Jinx. I was wondering if Season 2 would have a moment that got me. So far this was it so far. Just kinda sat there after the ep finished thinking: "wow". Arcane really is the best animated series. We're lucky to still have competent writers still in the world. Perfect cinema this show really is.

Dude, if we take away the deaths of her biological parents. Almost all the deaths of her family and friends was due hextech. I think only silco didn’t die due hextech. Hextech truly was the leading cause of the tragedies that unfolded.
It's great how at 1:53 a barely walking Vi notices Jinx running to Isha and Vander, understands what is going on, instantly heals and in like two seconds blocks Jinx and even shields her from the explosion. That's a great big sister right there.

I audibly GASPED when I realized what Isha was ready to do. Seeing how they depict her, it was clear that her whole life had been in pain. Jynx freed her, giving her a dose of joy and true childhood, even if for a little while. Isha cared about jynx and wanted to help her save her father, but seeing Vander in so much pain, she knew she needed to do something to end it all and save Jynx. That little smile she gave before pulling the trigger was incredibly heartwrenching.
it was also because Isha spent all her time copying Jinx cause that's what you do when you hero worship someone right, so in EP4 Isha saw Jinx fearlessly fighting warwick so Sevica could save Isha n run. Now Isha's doing the same thing back for Jinx.
@seezar100 It's believed by some, myself included, that Chross' men may have been trying to forcibly recruit the children of Zaun for his own intelligence network or just working for the factories he owns, hence the montage of children being attacked by Chross' men in the "Sucker" music video. So it's possible they were trying to capture her to be forced labor. But it is entirely plausible those men were just chasing her to kill her for one reason or another.

god. the parallels to powder's monkeybomb is INSANE. GOD.
Godddd your right, that make it so much painful
Yeah it a parallel and a inversion of powder trope, as @dlweiss commented in another video:
Rather than impulsively deploying power she doesn’t understand, Isha knows exactly how the gun works, and she knows precisely what will happen when she overloads it and fires.
That 1:56 shiver and then regaining her composure.
@@MrJedcpf It is not parallel when they were raised differently and situation is also not the same; people, actions, tools, weapons, mentor and experienced moments everything was different.

STOPPPPP YOUR MAKING MY CRY

The game lore is the present of Arcane. There Vi and Jinx are like Batman and Joker. They hate and care each other at the same time.
I think Vi was trying to shield Jinx from the blast, not protect her from seeing Isha getting blown up. That sounds more logical
Isha's entire story is her trying to become jinx follow her be as strong as her and I think in this moment she's made a decision that she believes jinx would make blow herself and everyone else up, that expression before the smile is Isha and her fear of not wanting to die, while the smile and the the "gun" was her becoming Jinx. take the inspiration of Jinx, Harley quinn who was given the insanity because of Joker. how the fuck can they create a character from a week ago and made me cry for her the next week
@@Nightflash28 that's bc jinx was completely alone, she lost all of her family many times in tragic ways, no one wanted to be near her because she always ruins it all, all except that little girl she saved and she reminded her of her innocent childhood that's why she was so important to her
@@Nightflash28 i completely agree

I'm not sure if she could have lived if she never came across Jinx, she was being chased by goons and was about to get caught by them.
