The Hawkins group had no idea about El fighting Vecna in Max's head or Hopper fighting the Demogorgon. And yet everyone contributed, it was really cool
It was absolutely awesome but… shouldn’t have she just let Steve decapitate Vecna with his axe instead of making him fall through the window and allowing him to escape ?
Nancy had by far the best character development I’ve seen in a long time. From an older sister who couldn’t care less about her brother and his friends, more worried about relationships, to going to war for her brother, his friends, her friends and the world. Fearlessly entering the unknown and walking head on into war with a powerful enemy on his turf was the absolute perfect way to cap off this season for her.
THIS. This is why I hate when people say Nancy was the worst character on the show. Did they stop watching after the first episode?? They keep teasing her with "Nancy Drew", but it's more fitting than they realize. She is determined to find the truth regardless of what it takes, and she dives headfirst into the fight - WITHOUT whining about her hair or whatever you'd expect a teen in an 80s movie to do.
@@Misfit_Kitten from what I have seen, most people judge Nancy on her love triangle basis. Like how she played with Steve and everything which is bullshit (pun intended). Also, she was a little bitchy towards most people in season 1 but give her a break, she was just a stupid teenager but now this girl has come far away from that. Using her skills of journalism, actually being a Nancy Drew, sweet and badass at the same time, kicking Vecna's ass just to save the people she loves and the town. Most people only see her as she was in season 1, they don't see her growth which really pisses me off.
I think the love triangle doesn’t help at all it makes her look more like a cheater. Starts looking elsewhere when she’s with someone when things gets tough. And it’s happening like twice. Ppl are supposed to grow tho, if you don’t then you’re stagnant and don’t get anywhere in life.
You can feel the rage in Nancy with each shot she shoots. From losing Barb to the invasion of her town, you can tell she’s full of vengeance and retaliation. I love how the writers have evolved her character from a shy, innocent and easily-manipulated girl to an actual person who Vecna now fears.

What I love about this is that Eleven was only support in this case (Buying Max more time and distracting Vecna) everything else was a result of everyone else's efforts. It's nice to see the non-supepowered characters defeat the creatures from the upside down.
Hopper is absolutely a true warrior. He literally fought a demogorgon with a sword and slay it like a badass. This is the most awesome, beautiful, and badass episode of them all! CAN'T WAIT FOR SEASON 5!!!

There's no way you just compared a 6 years character development to a 12 years character development. Nancy's character development is nowhere near to Carol
Great character development for sure and definitely up there but Yona from Yona of the dawn is greater. And many other female leads in live action and animation that have more developed story arcs. I will say it seems so great because good female character development is missing in most stories.

Seeing this makes me feel amazed at how far everyone has come since the first season. Nancy started as a normal teenager and is now fighting to save the world. Hopper was stuck in his depression over losing his daughter, and now he has a daughter in El and has Joyce to keep him going. The cherry on top is how resourceful and strong everyone has become without El or her powers. Their teamwork was seriously awesome this season.

It doesnt make sense, the bullets dont do anything to the demogorgon yet a sword easily kills it? Doesnt seem too realistic. Not hating tho, i loved it
I love that Hopper destroyed that Demogorgon. It really shows how much he's learned about the monsters from the upside down. And his unstoppable energy brought on by the need to help his daughter. This show has hit a level that feels better than movie. The visuals, the story telling, the acting. I never expected that random Netflix show I watched back in 2016 to end up on this level.
Well that's what you get when Netflix throws a shitton of money on a project (while simultaneously cancelling other projects) and extending average episode lengths to over an hour and the final two episodes basically being the length of a standard movie and the final into an Avengers-like runtime. Even GoT's last bunch of episodes weren't 1,5 hour long (80m), much less 2,5h. The Duffers definitely said 'well, we need time to do this season right', and Netflix basically said 'yes'.
I was slightly disappointed during part one when we didn't get see Hopper become a "Monster Slayer" by killing the Demagorgan, but watching him slice it apart in the finale with that dope soundtrack was absolutely satisfying.
The Duffel brothers really created something magical with this show, and the more it has matured the better it has got. We are in for one hell of a final season if we are to go by the quality and depth of this season. The way they have brought everything together is super clever and awesome.
do you really think this shiw has matured? The only interesting and well written season is 1. This one has so many plot holes and forced fanservice its unwatchable for me. This series should have been an anthology
Vecna's body language when he's getting shot is so good and PUNCHY. I love that quick turn he does after he's shot the first time, like he can't fucking believe these children did this to him lmao
The kicker is that having spent all this time in the Upside Down, he'd never had to deal with people straight-up attacking him before. He was probably just as surprised as anyone that the kids actually managed to hurt him, and you could see from his body language that he had no idea what to do.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - Hopper beheading the demogorgon with a damn sword has got to be one of the sickest things this show has ever done, a very D&D style death for it really bringing it full circle
this scene literally give goosebumps and when Nancy fire it elevates to another level that you will feel or wish that you want to be in her place firing on vecna.

Why didn’t they let Steve take the last shot?
@@Rohan1X127 well because Nancy hadn’t really had a badass moment yet, plus she probably was waiting to shoot vecna ever since he killed the guy with glasses that was Nancy’s friend
I don't see anyone mentioning this so I'll say it: I thought Robin's moment of throwing the molotov cocktail by first swinging int her right hand was also incredibly epic and gave her a well-deserved badass moment.
Another cool detail (intentional or not) but having her molotov hit Vecna off center as opposed to Steve's dead center, matches with her 'uncoordinated since a baby' thing. It wasn't perfect but she hit it when it counted.
And it's also a good bit of raw guts on Robin's part, too, if you realize she's deliberately _letting Vecna get closer_ to maximize the chance of hitting him.
The poetic irony of this scene is that Vecna was only temporarily distracted by Eleven. He considered regular people no better than ants, but in the end he was staring in shock at three normal kids that lit him on fire and blew his ass out of a window.
This whole sequence with the song remix, the animations, the acting, and just everything about it. Nancy absolutely kicked ass with her gun, never mess with her 😤. Lucas and Max made me tear up. The moment the Stanger Things tune kicked in; alongside kate bush's song being played, and all the while eleven was astound by the disintegration to mist of vecna, gave me the greatest chills and satisfaction that I experienced from an entertainment platform, or from a TV series for that matter. Jonny stared into the angry eyes of his opponent with a devilish gaze. "Let's see which breaks first! My skull! Or yours!" Just made that up. Not really perfect.
An Almost Buffy arc
@@Bunny11344 lol you can grow in different ways. There was no love triangle and that's what disturbed people the most.
You can feel the rage in Nancy with each shot she shoots. From losing Barb to the invasion of her town, you can tell she’s full of vengeance and retaliation. I love how the writers have evolved her character from a shy, innocent and easily-manipulated girl to an actual person who Vecna now fears.
He doesn’t fear her, and each shot was off. She wasn’t doing well at all.

They knew what they came here to do, there’s no fuckin around now it’s all business
Which is how I know I'm not cut out to be a writer. Would've had some characters crack jokes at Creel's expense
No point in telling someone/thing to go to hell when they're already there
I mean ST has done that already too. They probably would have had they not had Kate Bush. ha
@@jeffbrehove2614 as a writer myself with about 73 pages so far. It's all in what and how you say it.
Sometimes it's better not to say anything at all. And let the written actions do the talking.
For example of a line:
With both limbs restrained, he had his opponent in a lock. Neither could move their arms and their legs were locked in place.
Jonny stared into the angry eyes of his opponent with a devilish gaze. "Let's see which breaks first! My skull! Or yours!"
Just made that up. Not really perfect.
But a dark humor joke or line makes it less cringe.
0:09 "No, you have!" -Eleven
Totally not a cliched lame line of dialogue
that sound right before Hopper attack demogorgon gets me everytime, chills ❤
i know that the scene is not included in here, but when Mike yells “fight”, it gives me goosebumps. even though he had his bad moments in the show, it just shows how much he cares for El and the determination they both share to ensure that everyone they care about fights and survives.
I hate Mike.
It was cringe
@@johnconnor4749 YES thank you, it was painfully cringy lmaoo
They did Mike so dirty this season 😔 hope he has better scenes in S5
He really brought up his own selfish emotions at the time where her life was on the line lol it was such a terrible speech for the moment.
Kate Bush was already blown away by the response to this song and how it was used in Volume 1.
Imagine how she felt watching this scene.
Nancy + shotgun = badass. Seriously this whole scene was amazing the build up and Mike spilling her heart out to El and tellin her to fight also Max almost dying to vecna and Eddie playing Metallica and then the death of eddie. the whole ending was just a roller coaster of emotions one of the best season finales
Thats gotta be from Terminator 2 - Judgement Day's final scene... that shotgun scene is too closely mirrored to be a coincidence... Since its a Schwarzenegger movie and the sword is from Conan the Barbarian, also a Schwarzenegger movie...
indeed my friend, indeed, IF NOT THE BEST🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
And hopper went Neville mode
the best scene ever made in any netflix series
I love how Vecna attempts to take the fire like a trooper but Nancy was like “Haha- *you thought,* nerd.”
If Nancy has a Glock your dead
😂
Hopper “let me get in on this” slices the Demo head off!
Never thought that Nancy Wheeler will become that such a badass, if you seen her in season 1 eps 1.
Like two completely different characters. And I love that!!
Quality character development. Damn rare in a series and that's a shame because done right like in this series its freaking magic
The moment Johnathan gave her that gun, I knew it was only going to be up hill from there.
@@bjax3213bj one might say.... Running up that hill
Ok I'll go now
DRAWING STRANGER THINGS CHARACTERS.. IT'S HERE ON THE CHANNEL !!
Pure adrenaline. During that scene just goosebumps and excitement. Don't mess with Hopper, Nancy, Steve and Robin. Stranger Things rocks!!!
NAAAAAAAANC ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The Climax with the songs was so brilliant with the stranger things mix. This show is a gem
Pretty sure everyone’s heart stopped and was screaming on edge at this scene. The best climatic action heart thrilled scene in a show
Game of Thrones has definitely given me a similar feeling but this scene was great too ♥️ I recommend giving GOT a watch if you haven't already!
This show just made me 10yrs Younger. This scene was everything. When I saw vecna stand up in flames, I was so scared for Nancy, Steve and robin, but as robin threw the second flame and got vecna spot on, I scream “HELL YEAH” at the top of my lungs( sorry to my neighbors). As Nancy stepped forward to get a clearer shot at vecna, I couldn’t but scream at every single shot she made. Hopper facing the demogorgon with a sword was just epic. The combination of both scenes into one plus the music and sound effects just made it that much sweeter. Can’t wait for season 5. The duffer brothers are awesome
haha Yes I had the same reaction!
Hehehe yess
Genius level sound editing... suspended chord... "no, You Have", two glassy notes introduce Running Up That Hill synth motif (my fist-in-the-air moment!)... the drums enter with the Stranger Things Moog synth line, Kate Bush comes in with synth arpeggios that make you think "Hold on! Did they intend this from the beginning? (No, they're just geniuses!)... drop to nothing for "Max! Max! Max!... loop Kate singing "that hill that hill that hill that hill..." whooshing flames, Zippo, molotov sounds.. the BAAAAM the chorus with all the extra drums and Moog synth and Conan and Connors do their thaaaaang.... Oscar, Emmy, bloody Grammy for the remix haha. The Pinnacle.
que.
Might wanna give some credit to the guys behind the remix, then. Totem are responsible for that.
@@ydoumus sound editing does include the remix, which appears to be stock sample drums and synth/orch pads to make it sound huge, beautifully edited by Totem(whoever they are, can’t find anything… possibly the programmers?), but also recut and embellished by sfx to become possibly the greatest music video of our time.
Exactly! This show is just masterpiece on so many levels that human mind cannot comprehend it all at once!
Agreed! The first three seasons won Emmys for Sound Editing and I'm sure it'll happen again.
This entire episode just was an emotional rollercoaster! It wasn't really an episode anymore. It was an entire movie in its own, and not only because of its over 2 hour runtime.
This entire sequence was brilliantly done, the music, the build, the timing of it all, absolutely brilliant
This is one of the most epic scenes I’ve seen in my life. The music, the editing, Nancy with a sawed off shotgun, Hopper with the Conan sword. It was all legendary
Yeah they killed it on all aspects. Bravo
From "Fat Rambo" to "Shrunken Conan". Go Hopper, go! Only true fans recognized Conan's Sword that wielded Arnie back in the days. :)
a pure masterpiece of a scene, steve and robin throwing the Molotoves in slow motion, nanc stepping fearlessly in to not miss a shot is JUST UNBELIEVABLE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@IvanKala I recognized it but did I miss how a sword got into a prison?
@@IvanKala I recognized it but did I miss how a sword got into a prison?
nancy was badass on this. i hope in season 5 her character became a reminiscence of Sarah Connor from the Terminator 2. like a tough, badass female attitude.
That will be so badass hopefully she has more screen time where she is just killing bats with gun
You know what would be cool? If Season 5 takes place in an almost apocalyptic setting with the main characters wielding badass weapons and clothes to traverse the newly corrupted Hawkins

@@VegaFic But then it wouldn’t be Stranger Things anymore. It’ll just be Normal Things
!!
Just coming back to say what an absolute masterpiece this was. This is my all time favorite scene of anything
THIS SCENE AND THE MUSIC IS AN EPIC MASTERPIECE.

I am glad they made Nancy fire the gun and not Steve, she is absolutely spectacular in the scene.
DRAWING STRANGER THINGS CHARACTERS.. IT'S HERE ON THE CHANNEL !!
I kind of wish they'd given Steve more to do in that episode (just because I love Steve) but Nancy's the real quarterback, so it had to be her.
I just love how absolutely pissed she looks at vecna. Pure hatred for a being like that and i love it. Good acting.
Steve has always been more a melee stan anyways
Nah steve better
Dude Nancy handles a gun better than most military guys/girls in this show.
Nancy going full Sarah Connor on Vecna is my favorite part of the finale.
I mean what did they tell the cast prior to the show? "Okay folks, so we need Oscar performances. From ALL of you. Not Emmys, but OSCARS. " because the whole cast really showed us the depth of their acting prowess in this season. That look in Nancy's eyes with each squeeze of that sawed off was nothing short of epic all on its own. Oh and can we talk about how they took an already great song and turned it into a legendary LOTR style battle theme?
They should start including these type of series at the Oscars for sure. They are above and beyond some of the movie nominations
PURE MASTERPIECE OF PERFORMANCES, OF A SCENE, i have goosebumps everytime I see it, steve and robin slo mo throwing Molotoves, nanc stepping in fearlessly to not miss a shot, AGAIN,PURE MASTERPIECE OF A SCENE ❤️🔥
Emmys are the Oscars of TV idk why yall look at them as inferior when plenty of oscar winners go for emmys
This scene was so Epic ! nancy was looking so badass in that scene.

I love how every character has a battle and fighting at the same time in every season, this means how important teamwork is. this scene gave me goosebumps. EPIC!
Netflix: How many badasses do you want in this clip?
The Duffer Brothers: YES!
😂😂😂
See this is what makes this one of the best shows on TV. They know how to build to a moment and then when they finally reach it it freaking pays OFF. The music, the editing, the performances, you can feel the release of anger as the characters just lay into their respective villains. This is how you do a climax.
There were so many epic moments this season, and while this may not be my absolute favorite (I don't know if anything will ever compare to Max's run, that's one of the greatest scenes ever put to the screen), this is one hell of a scene to try and top. The Duffer's have really come a long way as writers and directors, I can't wait to see where they go.
Stranger Things is easily top 10 of all time for me
EXACTLY THANK YOU!!!!!!! THE GREATEST SHOW OF ALL TIME
