I love the fact that a buch of guys in their mid 50s can still make me me want to break stuff.
Don't you have a government where you're from??
Plan B haha, that was clever

😂🤣😂
after that, your mom would beat you next 😂
cmon' these dudes are quite young. look at mick jagger or steve tyler. they are almost 20 years older.

5:04 James laughing about the random pluck on the string xD
Probably Metallica's most brutal song, love it, can't help but headband to this one.
100% their most brutal song. Maybe one of the most brutal songs in all of metal while not going over the top into some weird shit
@@ericricg8708 definitely not most brutal..
Ah yes, Mr Callahan. AKA Dirty Harry.
It's on the heavy side but not brutal. I'd give it to Dyers Eve.
I met James while working at Fleming’s steakhouse in Nashville. He ate, drank sweet tea and was super chill.
These guys are ageless. Metallica could've went cold a long time ago. Props to James for turning his life around and thank God for all of us he did.
Best part of this song: the harmonized riffs after the solo. Love it!
Now THAT'S how the bass should've been on the record

this song sounds even better now that you can hear the bass.
Not the vocal and drum
we are here for the 4 strings
@@temme528 in this case 5 strings
@@NamelessKing.Sun1 vocals sound great
Just this month on Howard Stern he asked "Are you guys going to keep playing into your 80's , like the Stones?" Total YES from the Band !
Decades later and I still get goosebumps
Thank you Metallica
The cameraman doesn’t like Kirk ☹️😢
(only during the solo)

Unfortunately it didn’t last that long...
NAJ Productions that’s what she said. Lol

One of the Greatest albums ever And Justice For All!!
Dang they got the tempo right finally. It's so intimidating when played slower like it was recorded.
Can not agree more. The intimidation of the song is key
That's because Lars has been wearing that metronome in his ear for several years now.
Lars is kinda speeding up the whole tom intro, but overall a steady tempo.
@@mawage666 in ear monitor

lol no
The melody in this song is STILL one of the most ominous TO THIS DAY. If you had to pick a top 'foreboding' metal song this is it. It's also NOT EASY to play or remember how to play. Really a song that transcends normal musical realms.
Amazing live version! This is one of all time my favorite favorite Metallica songs. This Ronnie and Outlaw Torn. Rock and Roll!
Great picks!
No one:
Kirk: 😎
I saw the glare at around 4:45-ish, if his eyes aren't great I could see why he'd want shades.
Ill just point out the obvious...Kirk is most likey HIGH!....Hence the shades..
@@RobHarris1089 Go back to school kid.
"deal with it"
Kirk is awesome
How cool for Rob that he could come in and essentially create his own bass lines for one of the most seminal albums in metal? And that stage set up is fantastic.
I like how watching them after many years and through getting older that I can sense how much they enjoy doing this. They look like their having a great time, but at the same time being thankful and knowing they cant do it forever. Enjoying the moment.🤘
So THIS is what the bass sounds like on this song!
I honestly prefer the studio recording. It just sounds so much heavier because the guitar fills out more space. Btw i play guitar by myself and it actually wasnt some weird shit that they did to the guitar tone that just happens if you crank the bass on the eq of a boogie.
This is by far the one song from them that I'll never be bored of listening, it's so powerful
James seems so energetic and happy here
Probably because he was drinking\using again
@@freafollingalianz :)
I like how Lars has the ability to constantly change the tempo of any song
It’s more dynamic that way 😂
Lars is a top dude and made some of the best drum songs
Apparently you have also still interest in these after 35 years.
U can say what u want Nobody gives a shit.
This tempo blabla is getting tired.
If u want to listen to dreamtheater then cheers and bye
@@jensmoller6999 rub one out bro. You'll feel better

You will do better when you're pushing 60 I take it?!
That bass mix on the record was criminal.

James sounds incredible. Thats a fact.
Don’t think he’ll sound the same when he’s out I’m sorry to say but alcohol is a big fuel for your voice, unless he goes under some intense vocal training before he hits the road again we won’t hear this James when he’s back to touring as much as I’d love to hear this voice in James when I see them in Australia when they reschedule our tour I know we won’t
@@joshspring6144 sad but true. But old James is still James 💪
@@joshspring6144 To me his voice improved when he got off the sauce back before St. Anger. I thought he sounded good during the Death Magnetic tours, and he sounded REALLY good when they started touring for Hardwired. I don't know how badly he fell off the wagon, and how recently it happened, but he doesn't need the booze to sound good.
@@pdegan2814 Very well said my friend.. james has sounded great in the times since death mag. and now the hardwired tour but not because of booze. Cant wait for him to be well again.. he needs metallica and they got so much in store for us, the metallica family
@@pdegan2814 2003 was good then something happened in 2004 that made his voice go downhill
When they played this in Minneapolis we went absolutely bad shit crazy it was awesome
Logan the Roman Fuck yeah we did 🤘
Exactly how 'bat shit crazy' ?
MrMotherfuck123
I jumped off the top balcony. People started kissing each other’s moms, James said yea yeah after every line. It was incredible.
Logan the Roman Europe crowds are always sooooooo lame no action they suck
I've seen Metallica at every Minneapolis & a few Wisconsin shows since "91" and they have always put on a great live show!
In my high school days, my very first Metallica show was at the old Met Center by Mall of America were Ikea now sits.....do you remember that place?
Oh the memories this band has given me through the years!!!!
Sobriety makes a big difference in the things you do in life. Love these guys from the beginning through all the good n bads...
I never thought HOS was one of Metallica's better songs but this gave me a new appreciation. This was awesome. Heavy as f..., Not often a live version makes me like a song more.
Still rocking without stopping..... nice
5:01 made me smile, like it made jaymz smile
Yeah 😁 This break is great 🤘
You can hear him hit the d string I think
Harbiden yaa :)
I know it had me bugging I'm already singin all have said there prayers and everyone clapping like it's over I'm like why didn't the crowd take over and then he kills it
I love how they're slowing everything down live. It has a better groove and closer to the album version.

This concert was just awesome! They sounded great, weather was great and great people around me. One of the best concerts ive been on
Strong performance of this song, Papa Het sounds great and the harmonizing him and Kirk do is cool. This is one of my favorite songs off of Justice and along with Eye of the Beholder and The Shortest Straw.
the best group...forever n ever....
I take a week off after a metal concert. I can’t move or speak. Too much standing around man. THIS IS FUCKING METALLICA!!!
Exactly, it's a disgrace that some of the crowds have lost their intensity. Prior to seeing them at the Ethiad i'd been bingeing on old Seattle and Mountain view gig clips from 1989. How can you go to a metal gig and just stand and watch?!?? It's anathema to me.
It’s Norway. They are pretty reserved culturally.
It's not like crowds are the only ones to blame in this situation. Look at what concerts have become. The bands know what is going on too, it's not like they don't know. The band play MILES away from the crowd, in a stage so far up you can barely see the band members anymore. Can't hear their amps, have to rely on P.A. to hear any sound. Crowd is divided into sections, "VIP" section etc. Pit days are gone. What else? Oh, ticket prices, don't even get me started on ticket prices.
After all that abuse and dysfunction, you still want people to feel any hint of "excitement" for being there?
I know everyone has to make a living and business have to be done in some way or another in order to keep going. But what these bands have been doing to crowds in the past 15 years or so is FUCKING SHAMELESS
You may be cool,
*but you're not "Kirk Hammett" cool*
He's so cool he wears sunglasses in a country where the sun doesn't exist

Saw them perform this song in 1988, during the Monsters of Rock, even before And justice for all came out...still amazing.
From what I hear, it was the first single of the album.
