Here's the kind of thing I'm talking about. All of these tech whiners talking about how the 14 is a bust and it's boring because they want a yearly re-design to make their annual iPhone purchase an entertaining one. Here's someone moving all the way from a 6S to a 14 Pro. Can you imagine what a radical upgrade this will be for her? Fact is, annual upgrades make up a small percentage of iPhone customers, and Apple is NOT catering to them.

Hi guys! I just upgraded to an 14 Pro Max and was unable to transfer all the data from my 11 Pro Max to the 14 side by side, until I purchased MORE Icloud storage and then was able to create a back up to the Cloud of the 11 pro! Then, like magic, I was able to do the transfer side by side! What a Crock! I shall be cancelling that upgrade of storage (200G) since I now have the 1.24 TB pro Max! As always, your videos are the BEST and did save me TONS of Batt life and Storage in the past with the 11 Pro Max. Again thank you so much. Just turned OFF ALL the stuff you advised on this video on my new 14! Keep up the great Work!!

I’ve applied all your recommendations and did see some battery life improvement. Even more so after shutting off “Hey Siri” as well, and creating a shortcut that turns low power mode on and off depending on whether my phone is connected to power or not. I'm liking iOS 16.02 on my iPhone 14 Pro. The software is nice and fluid and the 3rd party camera software now works fine. I didn't have the camera shake/jitter like some people reported, but the snappiness of the telephoto was improved with the update. Unfortunately you can‘t use it as normal because the size of this slider seems to be restricted to the size of the search button. Which means the number of dots displayed is limited (to 4?) and does not represent the current position within your screen set reliably any more.

    • @ILYGA22

@@ILYGA22 Sorry, I should have been more precise. Yes you can still scroll through all of your screens, but the slider displays only 4 out of n dots, relative to your position within your pages. You can‘t determine at a glance (if you have more than 4 screens) where you are. People may be fine with it, but for my „workflow“ it turned out to be useless. You're correct, but that search field still sucks. They must have looked at their analytics data and discovered that new users don't know about spotlight search at all, so they're prompting them. Anyone who has been an iPhone user for a while gets more useful information from seeing where they are in relation to all their other dots.

Most of those location settings can’t be shut off if you’re trying to track your teenagers. Could you guys do a video on how to actively monitor your child with iPhone? I know if I turn most of the location settings off on my teenager’s phone, we can not track his location, or it just stops sharing the location with us from his phone. I would love an app that tracks where he’s been along with where he is, and also be able to block group texts, etc.

I understand tracking your young children if you give them a phone for emergency calls - but teenagers? Trust is a vital part of responsibility. If you aren't trusting your teenagers at all, then you're not actually teaching them responsibility. Responsibility means they volunteer information to you, because they understand that as a parent, you're always worried about their safety. These are conversations you can have, with kids who are biologically old enough to procreate. Consider that as part of a natural drive to develop independence, squeezing them harder will only make them slip from your grasp, like the proverbial wet bar of soap. You definitely DO want them to develop independence, but you don't want it to come at the expense of your relationship with them. - Just some thoughts. Raise them however you like. They're your kids. Have a great day.

Leaving ProRaw and ProRes on in the settings doesn't mean you will always take ProRaw images or ProRes videos. You can toggle this on and off in your camera app. Also if you feel that you don't need these options at all, then it's most likely that you do not need the Pro version of the iPhone as well. Save some money and get the non Pro version.

I appreciate what you guys do, but you should spend more time explaining what each feature does before simply telling someone that you don't need it. I find things like HomeKit or Setting TimeZone as valuable and necessary, but you gloss over and flat-out tell everyone to disable that with no real explanation.
Some of your recommendations are perplexing, and you ack like Apple is evil in data collection. For instance, why would you tell everyone to disable map improvement, traffic, and routing? Would you instead share this info with Google? The only way Apple Maps gets better is if these features are on, so people like me and everyone else who wants to use Apple Maps benefit.
I find some of your recommendations full of crap, as if Google was paying you.
