Great review again! If you remember me I have the exact same Rav4 XSE in blizzard pearl also. My Rav turned 1 year yesterday and it turned to 12,000 miles (20,000 kms) that day also. I totally share the same love for this great car. At first I didn't like the digital mirror but after a month of ownership I forced myself to have it on all the time. Low and behold after a month I got used to it and I won't go back to the regular review mirror. I don't know how you keep the paint on the front of your Rav4 so clean as mine has bug marks that seem almost impossible to clean off. But in general I love the white pearl color complimented by the black gloss roof and black wheels. I'm the only driver of my car as I'm single so I can hypermile as you call it but I don't make that big an effort other then always driving in ECO mode and being smooth in acceleration & braking. I get 60 Imperial mpg (50 US) in the middle of the summer as I stated in a previous comment on your 3 month review. I also highly recommend this wonderful car to everyone I meet. Thanks again for the review and drive safe.

You’re right about the quiet ride! My friends often notice that too. My heart was sold on a 4Runner but most of my driving is in the city, which gives you low fuel economy. 4Runner has a big thirsty engine so I decided to go with RAV4 Hybrid and I don’t regret it so far. Maybe in the future if the 4Runner gets a more efficient engine I will switch.

Great review guy! I bought my Rav4 Prime plug-in about a month ago and have a little over 2,400 miles. I love this car, everything you said is true! For those out there, see if you can buy the plug-in prime though. You get about 40+ miles on just pure battery power and then it turns into a regular hybrid. I went 2,380 on a tank of gas because I charged my car everything I got home. It’s a great car, if you can get it though, the wait time is a little over a year or so and the Rav4 Prime is only made in Japan so production is limited.

I have a 2020 XSE with the same features and I LOVE it. Totally agree with this video. I’m averaging around 36-37 mpg though, but that’s probably because I’m heavy-footed. I just took it on its first long trip and was blown away by the comfort and ease. The adaptive cruise with lane tracing makes a long trip so much less taxing than any other vehicle I’ve owned. Cheers to many more miles with this awesome little suv!
Edit: Things have taken a turn with the Rav. Started having an issue where the 12v battery dies out of nowhere. And after the first time it happened, the steering became unpredictably off center. Had the whole steering rack replaced and it's still doing it. I've had this thing back at the dealer about once every other week for months. There are service bulletins out about all these things AND a class action about the battery issue. I literally have to carry a spare 12v battery with me everywhere. It's insane. I LOVE the car, but this is not worth it.

    • @QuickShifts

It’s a protective wrap like Expel but a factory option. Covered the full hood and the mirrors. Again it was an option and you need to add it to get it. If you didn’t opt it, you can get it added by most detail shops or tint shops. Thanks for watching and for dropping a comment!

I bet that added harshness after 25k if the tires wearing off. Less rubber, less cushion. Usually cars get softer with age. Maybe clunky with enough wear. I find a new set of tires brings back that little bit of softness. Hell my 250k prius still feels amost new all stock .

    • @QuickShifts

    • @QuickShifts

They functioned without any problems. Ours had the auto sensing headlights and they seemed to work well judging on coming traffic. On occasion, some passing cards would flash their lights at you to indicate you had your brights on even when you did not. If that is an indication of how well they worked. We have the '21 RAV4 limited hybrid and I've had a couple major issues with it:
    1) It makes my 2017 Outback seem really old and dumb...
    2) The center console temp gage keeps switching back to Celsius even though I'm an American and we are committed to difficult and inconsistent forms of measurement. (Anyone else have this problem?)
Otherwise, this is easily the best car we've ever owned.

I have the same Celsius issue with my 21 Rav4 prime, I change it back to Fahrenheit almost every time I start it up and notice it is back to Celsius on the weather display after a power cycle. It's annoying but glad the temp and the fuel gauge showing less mileage than actual is the only problems I have with the prime after 20k miles.

Hyper mailing is when you go to every extreme to maximize your fuel efficiency.
As for your second question, there are so many factors to consider when figuring gas mileage that it hard to compare one persons results to another unless you are able to control all the variants. Weather, gas quality. Road quality and conditions, speeds, driving style, tires, altitude, traffic weight are just a few of many factors to be considered.
