The big change is with the hybrids. You can now get the hybrid with AWD and 4k tow package. I have a 22 xlt hybrid and have a 25 xlt hybrid on order! I will be trading in my 22.
My friend the 2025 Maverick hybrid now comes with four-wheel drive and can now tow up to 4,000 lbs, so that's the ultimate Maverick to get. Plus the much bigger entertainment screen.
I had a 2021 Subaru Outback with most of the controls routed through the big screen and now have a 2021 Honda Passport with push button controls for most things like HVAC, etc. you don't know what you're missing until it's gone when it comes to push button controls versus controls routed through a screen.
I think safety features are super cool, there was an accident near my home where someone had a seizure and their car plowed into a concrete pillar. He is no longer with us. just something to consider also they can be turned off individually but to each their own
I've ordered a 2025 that is in production this week. Based on my research, the drop in HP is because Ford is adding a gasoline particulate filter (GPF), similar to DPF's that have been on diesel vehicles for years. Also, initially the GPF's will only be added to vehicles delivered in states that follow the stricter California emissions rules (basically west coast and north east states). So my 2025 Maverick being delivered to S.C. will have 250 HP. And I agree with you on climate control, I prefer knobs and buttons over touch screen!
Good old Canada, 250hp! Also I understand people that want the physical buttons, but the AUTO feature for climate just does everything. No need to touch anything. I've found on my mk7 GTI, I rarely touch the climate controls since I use auto mode.
Your information is not correct. The filter affects all Maverick sales. I’ll have to consider a Ranger to not be subject to the outrageous Trump Tariffs on the Maverick.

Putting all of the climate controls into the touch screen was such a dumb move. Honda did the same thing with the Civic Type R at first and changed it to physical knobs later in its life because people conplained so much. Big step back from Ford. Won't be surprised if people retrofit the older dash in their 2025s to get the knobs back.
Idk man… I’ve done my research and I can currently purchase 4 or 5 2025 ford mavericks from my dealerships and they’re 6k less then the 2024. Same trim and all. So I’m not to sure what prices you’re looking at but I just visited two separate dealers this weekend and the prices are legit.
@@steve_arcenio If you live in an area that gets a lot of snow I’d recommend the AWD! Or if you plan on doing any off-roading! Other than that, FWD is fine!
Unless you need the bigger screen and awd, the 2024 is better looking and at a better price. Just my opinion. Also, moving the a/c controls to the screen is not safe.
I finally found the 2024 Maverick Tremor in Black that I've been looking for!! Was determined NOT to get the 2025 because the have made the Tremor a line above the Lariat...so you get most of the Lariat options that I didn't want..like the added "safety" features!!! Plus the new Tremors start at a ridiculous price above what the Lariat is!
My 2025 hybrid XLT is in production right now. I ordered on 8/1 because I wanted the Eruption Green color and my current lease is almost up. Thanks for the info.
tried to get a 2024, it came in but due to the rear camera issue i could not take delivery. I ended up ordering a 2025 because there is no fix in place and was told it "may " be available sometime in the first quarter of 2025. Ended up spending more money as you stated. Hope to God this isn't a mistake.
I have a 2024 2.0L engine. All gasoline. Not a hybrid. I do not like the the effects (sound) when a vehicle switches to electric. I'm old school. I've read that the 2024 is the best year to buy; before prices soar.
Thanks, I agree with everything you said however I personally do not like the front end. I think the HP decrease is due to new emission standards. I am sure some brainiac out there has figured out a way to reprogram the 2025 to bring the HP back up, LOL
I wonder if the decrease in HP\TQ for the 25's is to increase longevity of the drivetrain, especially the transmission. I know I've read the 8F35 paired to the 2.0 EB is already over its rated limits. To me it seems Ford used that trans to save money, not provide longevity. Great opinions in your video. My biggest gripe with the Mav is the price. I decided to walk away from my 24 when it came in as ford had already raised the price since my 22 they sold from under me ( whole other issue I have with Ford) and wouldn't do anything to help. Add on another $2k+ for the 25's and it's no longer attractive to me. Cool little trucks, but still a super cheap truck under its skin.
The video is misleading. Yes the base price is more in 2025. That being said in 2025 the hybrid is standard and in 2024 it was a 1500 option so basically its a lot less price increase if wanting a hybrid. The bad is wanting a 2.0 ecoboost its another 1000 option over the standard hybrid. So in that case its a noticeable price increase. Another price increase touched on in a reply is the tremor package for the 2025 its not just an upgrade in trim level xlt and lariat like it was in 2024. Its actually its own trim level at a hefty price increase over 2024. Someone may not like the larger screen and loosing the knobs. Still if you had a 2024 and wanted to upgrade the sync 3 to sync 4 you were looking at a 3000 or more aftermarket. So in that regards it offsets some if not all the price increase on the 2025 with the exception of the tremor package or trim level price increase. Whatever you decide the Maverick is still the best bang for the buck. That is for a supercrew truck with great mileage, IMHO
I’m very disappointed. I have a 2024 fully loaded Maverick Lariat. I ordered a 2025 lariat fully loaded but I certainly don’t like loosing 12 horsepower and having to deal with the very costly fuel filter replacement. Now Ford is recommending utilizing premium gas to deal with the 12 HP loss. I think I will not get the 2025 Maverick because of the outrageous Tariffs and I’ll consider the Ford Ranger. Thanks a lot Trump and Ford. Maverick sales will no doubt plummet.
Don't even have to watch. He's got a 24 XL and he is railing on the price increases while he has already paid so much for a 24 v a 22. My AWD Hybrid Lariat with 4K tow will be well worth the cost.
For states that require it. I ordered a 2025 XLT FX4 Ecoboost in Eruption Green. Where I live (like 40+ other states) we still get the 250hp. States like California have to have the fuel filter thing that they are having to add at the dealership and you lose 12hp with it
I read somewhere that the 25 XL/XLT will have halogen bulb headlights? Same with the physical climate control delete, these are obvious cost reductions. What less obvious cost reductions dont we know about yet? I suspect the change in stated horsepower is a non-issue. It likely is a testing procedure correction and may not affect real-world performance. We will know the answer soon enough.
The answer is already out. Change in power due to compliance with emissions control regulations. It is a real drop of 12 horsepower on the ecoboost engine. It is a fact.
