Tim's updates have been helpful. 👍 My 2022 XL (Oct 2022 build) has had only one occurance (camera - three seconds) of it's three recalls. Otherwise, two years trouble free. 👍👍
We have 22 Lariat hybrid (5/22 build date w/o lux package or co-pilot 360) and XL hybrid (9/21 build date). They BOTH have back up camera delays! Also BOTH had body damage upon arrival at dealer! I've stupidly just ordered a 25 (job 2) Lariat hybrid AWD to finally get what I originally wanted - loaded Lariat AND AWD!
Has anyone else had a problem with their 12 volt battery on the Maverick, I have a 2023 that I’ve had for about 19 months now and I’m on my third battery replacement !
ford needs to update the entire infortainment systems on all the recall mavericks and the camera freeze will go away. a simple software system will not fix it.
Hi Tim, When should I place the order if I need the truck ready for purchase/pick up in the first week or two of June 2025? How many months in advance should I place the order for a June purchase?
I would say the beginning of March. You don't want to miss that first week of March scheduling or it might kick the scheduling of your order to April with June production. Of course this is assuming you order with a dealer that gets a decent amount of allocations and not too many orders. It could take longer than 3 months if your dealers only gets a couple allocations and have unscheduled orders to get scheduled.
My XLT has the sync 3. And it has been issued a recall for that camera issue. And yes I've noticed the problem time to time but more so just the Ford sync 3 system freezing and having issues more than just the camera. I get around it it's not a big deal but yes I think it's a issue with that system. Not just the software. I have been wanting to upgrade to the Ford sync 4. Are you sure you're not mixing up Ford sync 3 with sync 4? Isn't it the Ford sync 3 that comes standard or is it a different system?
My camera and screen in general has gone haywire a number of times on my ‘22 XLT. I always assumed it was because it was a job 2 build during the chip shortage and it was just something that I’d have to deal with.
My Lariat that I bought on Nov 15th was built in Sept but it isn't in this issue anyway. Dealers here still have Mavericks on their websites. I find the parking sensors more useful than the cameras anyway.
Not every Maverick will have the recall. Lariats are okay. Any XL and XLT built as a 2024 should have a delivery hold once the recall came out with the added population.
I missed the announcing of E.P.A. MPG Figures for the 25 Maverick hybrid AWD. Did you cover that in another podcast? Or can you expand further? Thx Tim !
I didn't cover the numbers, I was just saying that was something that could have affected the delay on the release of the Mavericks like it did in 2022 model year.
I bought a 2024 Maveric and had it 5 days when the dealer called me and asked me to return it due to the stop sale recall. your video gave me much more information than the dealer did. With that said, is there any further update on the fix?
I love this channel and appreciate the info! I'm up here in Canada and I have a Maverick on order. I was given Dec 4th as the production date and now I wonder when the actual truck will show up at my dealership? I expected a fairly long wait time, but now?
Do you know if Ford and the dealerships plan to/will honor the price in the event of tariff being imposed on the Mavericks? Thanks for the great info! As always.
It wasn’t touched on in this video, but I read a few off-hand comments online about the Pro Camera Backup Assist on the Maverick not being available until Job 2. Are there any details on this?
Can anyone tell me why the Ford Website does not offer the Advanced Towing packing which includes the Pro Towing package? We are suppose to be ordering for Job2 at this point. Can someone tell me how my dealer can place an order and ensure I will get the Pro-towing assist?
I've talked about this on many Maverick Monday videos. Those features are standard on Lariat, Tremor, and Lobo 702A with Job 2. If your order is unscheduled or was scheduled for production for 2/3/25 or later, your order should have these features. To know for sure, have your dealer show you the current order sheet, and it will have job 2 on there.
@Long McArthur - Does the recall also consider owners who might have backed into something due to not realizing that the camera image froze? I imagine they won't since it is almost impossible to prove that the damage resulted from backing into something because someone didn't realize the camera froze until it was too late. I rely on the camera to back up because I have a shell on the back of my Maverick. The shell makes it difficult to see behind the truck.
@blue_feather Ford won't cover damage to your vehicle while backing up. Another reason all vehicles should have Rear sensors standard as well as cameras.
@@longmcarthurford Thank you for confirming what I suspected. I agree with you -- rear sensors make a big difference. I am not sure if you noticed during the 2024 Maverick Meetup -- I had aftermarket sensors installed after discovering how difficult it is to see around the Maverick after installing a shell. Thank you for the detailed and informative Maverick Monday video. I am sure storing 90 Mavericks for an undetermined timeframe is... 'inconvenient' (as the lot walk showed).
Do you think the 24 maverick will be on big discounts worth waitign on due to the pile of mavericks that can't be sold and the 25 maverick coming out . I would can only assume that they would have to heavily discount all the 24 mavericks
Hey Tim, can you please share more details on what’s involved with a ‘Quality Hold’? Does Ford build a few vehicles specifically for quality/torture testing, or do they test a sample of vehicles that have been built for dealers/customers? Thanks!
Hi Tim. Placed my order on Saturday 11/30 for a 25 Maverick, job 2 confirmed on order sheet. What are you guys hearing/estimating for delivery to dealerships for job 2? Many thanks again for being the most reliable source for Ford info/news!
I ordered a 25 AWD Lariat with no other options in Aug on the first day ordering was available. I got my order confirmation and then nothing since. When I ask my dealership for any updates they say they'll check and then I get nothing back. Am I getting the run around? Should I check with a different dealership?
You can call Ford Marketing if you have the dealer number and order number. They can look it up for you. I hope they gave you a copy of your order sheet.
I had a similar rear backup camera issue with a 2021 Mazda6. In that case, it was easily resolved with an owner performed reset (essentially equivalent to Control-Alt-Delete). At it's worst, it displayed the previous backup image from the last time the car was in reverse -- 19 miles away! Definitely did a double-take on that one! So far I haven't noticed the issue with my 2024 Maverick XL AWD EcoBoost. Thanks for the heads-up!
Id say with the recall, if they have no fix for it... would that mean the 25s will not be available to purchaee? Or did ford already switch to new sync syatem or cameras or software?.
I thought about selling mine just to get away from a car payment, I have a 24 with 17k miles on it, been great for everything except the pretty terrible radio and screen!!! It's my only complaint I am 2 days away from owning it for a full yr
Tim, Myself and others on the forums have 2025 Lariats that are scheduled to build in January and have pro trailer features listed on the order tracker. Are we actually getting pro trailer features before the start of job 2 in Feb? Can't see a window sticker yet.
@Justin-gz9dz Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist are job 2 features. I would love to see where on your order sheet the trailer features are showing because they have not been on the order guide until job 2 changes showed they for vehicles build on our after 2/3/25.
This plant is one of the top factories for quality. They built the Fusion prior to the Maverick. Remember that they are ASSEMBLY plants. They don't program the software that is put in the vehicles for the screens.
Finally confirmation. Now hopefully everyone on MTC can stop arguing
My Lariat was built 12/21/2021; I picked it up 1/10/2022. After two years, I still LOVE IT.....and Tim's updates.
