I can’t get used to it because it’s not the original lyrics, Heave Away is an actual Newfoundland song by The Fables and I know the actual song off by heart, I can’t get used to this one even though it’s only like 30 seconds.
I’ve seen this show twice, and it’s by far one of the most underrated musicals. I cried with Hannah, laughed with the Kevins, and just loved it to bits. I hope everyone could see this show.
Just saw Becky Gulsvig on tour and she was phenomenal as Beverly (the entire tour cast was spectacular). If Jenn ever leaves they should ship Becky straight to Broadway.
An English gal with no connection to 9/11 but an absolute adoration for New York and therefore Come From Away. My absolute favourite musical. Seen it twice in the past 2 months and just booked to go a third time. From laughing to crying your heart out, nothing beats the feeling of being an Islander in the audience. THANK YOU to the creators of this musical, an underrated brilliant piece which the world needs right now.
Being a senior Canadian, this show has made me so proud and emotional and has brought me to tears numerous times. Cheers to the writers and all who performed in this magnificent show.
One of the best plays we have seen. Tears, laughter, incredible cast and talent! The story took me back to that day ....... and I remembered why I am glad to be part of the human race.... we have such potential ..... of good and kind and of heroic deeds... and yes of evil! May our good always prevail!
I adore this part of the show. I'm from up around the circle, bayman as you get and it always reminds me of my sister's wedding. We screeched in ol' jonny boy during the reception and giggled the whole way through, glad this show shows more people our culture and music. Definitely recommend checking out the original heave away song too! And some buddy whathisname
I went to see this in Toronto and I absolutely loved it! As a Newfoundlander I was filled with so many emotions, it really made me proud of the province I call my home! ❤️
I’m from Nova Scotia and currently live here and not even are we as extreme as NL when it comes to tradition and originality so Id be careful of the words you used. And we are NOT Atlantic Canada WE ARE ACADIA/MARITIMES!
My brother introduced me to this show - I had never even heard of it - and now I'm planning to see it in a few months. Such an awesome story and music!
This musical made me cry.... I wish the kevens stayed together 😥..this musical played with my emotions so much and now is my favourite musical ive ever seen
Autunno The Fox ! I wish they stayed together too but the Kevins represented Americans who were overcome by the 9/11 tragedy and couldn’t cope. Texas lady/British guy represented the faces who have coped through unity from the tragedy
@@BeautifulDreamerK I think you're forgetting that those stories are real. Nick and Diane Marson are an actual couple, and that was their story. Kevin T actually wrote a book about the experience and created the Pay It Forward 9-11 movement.
(Their names were actually Kevin and Evan, since the breakup they severed contact and he was renamed for the musical... I know this because Kevin wrote a book)
When this first came out all of my friends kept asking me what it’s like in Gander, they were all my American friends, they know I live in Toronto and was born here, do they have any idea how big this country is? I don’t think one single Canadian has been to every part of the country, it would take 10 lifetimes to do that, but after watching the show, I’m definitely going to go visit, aside from absolutely stunning natural beauty, the people are so kind and loving and warm. A far cry from living in Toronto, the most multicultural city on earth at 7 million people and counting. To my American friends, how many of you have traveled all across your country? Exactly my point, I had to educate my American friends and just how big my country is, but I don’t understand why they always say were so friendly, I’ve been to the states dozens of times, and you guys are just as friendly if not even more so than we are, so give yourself some credit!
I love the detail he's scripted to slur the "Asks a message" part like they're in a bar and off their faces drunk. Also if your watching in 2021. This is the musical you need right now!
HEAVE AWAY IS SUCH AN UNDERAPPRECIATED SONG IN THIS SHOW!!!
Agreed!
At 0:3 on the bottom left u can see me
Best song of the show! a real "toe-tapper!"

i love the kevins
They’re just amazing
I love how they really captured the Atlantic Canadian spirit within this performance. This is genuinely how we act on a daily basis.
Complete with singing and dancing?

I love seeing the evolution of Broadway. Involving the bands in the main stage and giving them recognition, the casual settings. It’s refreshing
it will be a sad day when Jenn Collella leaves the show to explore other roles. She is amazing.
Just saw Becky Gulsvig on tour and she was phenomenal as Beverly (the entire tour cast was spectacular). If Jenn ever leaves they should ship Becky straight to Broadway.
I saw Becky on Broadway as the u/s Elle Woods and on the US national tour as the principal. She is incredible.
uh oh.

Coming from the maritimes/Atlantic Canada I listened to heave away a lot growing up so this song makes me happy

Is it odd that I taught myself the "Heave Away" dance?
Also, I want to become an honorary Newfoundlander!
If it is odd, at least know that you are not alone. So enthralled by Come From Away.
As a Newfoundlander you can come here anytime and become a newfoundlander

Awww I was sooo sad too!
Just saw this yesterday in Chicago. Definitley one of the finest pieces of theater i have seen in recent memory. Its right up there with Hamilton
Can I just point out how Jenn Colella looks like she is having an absolute blast the whole way through this song? I love it!
it’s why she’s my favorite Annette/Beverley Bass ! amazing really!
I can't believe I'm crying just watching this video...
Don't listen to the rest of the songs...This is the one in between the tears...
I thought I was the only one. I can’t believe that the music I grew up hearing if I just opened my window is on broadway
Coming to Winnipeg. So excited to see this show!!
*Broadway nerds here and listen to come from away*

Mom: why?

Only Newfies call themselves “Newfoundlanders”
Cole Devlin ...... cause that’s what we are!!!

Shadowkey392 can an American?
Seeing this on Thursday and it's going to be my first Broadway show :)
They're not all this good, just a friendly warning!
Kent Weissinger I saw it and it was amazing I thought everyone was really good
I meant other Broadway shows...My misfortune in judging shows is the first one I saw was Cats. CFA is now on the short list of my three favorites.

Omg Heave away is sooo good!
They changed it for the musical.
The real Heave Away is by a Newfoundland band called the Fables. Look it up on you Tube.
@@NovaScotiaNewfie it's a traditional sea shanty that was recorded by the Fables. There are lots of versions out there...

Oz looks exactly how I thought he would
That one guy sounds a little like Doofenshmertz.
Who’s the guy in the blue suit jacket? I wish I had a speaking voice like he does
We need a recording of this cast performance like we got for Hamilton.

Bob is new, Bonnie is an understudy
Thanks! Glad to hear Petrina Bromley is still with the show.
Screech is rough
I never had issues drinking it. Dark rum.
I bet none of them are actually from newfoundland
The lady who took care of the animals is (I believe) the only Newfie in the cast.
Petrina Bromley was in one of the productions and she is a Newfoundlander.
Also one of tbe musicians is from home.
Also it's a small cast that plays multiple roles per person so they're also playing people from New York, Texas, England...
