Ron that came up a treat, so great to see you out and about, the caravan looks perfect for your work, did you design it as the layout to me doesn't look like a factory deal. Good to see you and your partner out there showing us how its done. I am working up at Torbanlea and I see you did a show up that way when my swing ended so I missed you on this round trip. Cheers Garry and Davina
@AttitudeAdjuster no that's a standard layout on their new models. I love it. It's ticking all my boxes for working. I'm really looking forward to test it out on a normal camping trip where I just go fishing and fossicking. It's going to happen real soon too.
Brought back the memories mate.Used to have a tin on toast when I got home from school. It was the Kraft one I think.Wasn’t as meaty or tasty as yours but I’m sure.Keep up the great work mate 👍🍺
Cheers mate. Gunna be busy for a couple of weeks doing shows, but I will see what I can do. Id like to get a chance to do one of my bread recipes actually. But bloody wet and cold here at the moment lol. I have some restoration videos ready to go so they will probably be next.
@@campovenkingI don't mind the resto clips either and your bread and bread rolls are great, at least you have a good camera operator and taste tester 😀
Loved that Kraft BS & Onions . Especially in a jaffle iron over coals . Would take 3 layers of skin off the roof of your mouth if you weren't careful 😂 A good splash of Worchester sauce = 1/4 bottle 😂 Thanks for the recipe , definitely going to give it a crack .
KING BROWN YOU ARE THE BEST!!! forgot the the yanks the poms the rest you truly are the Aussie camp oven cook king of the rest with out a doubt.. thanks for the passion and knowledge to share much appreciate the recipes an perfection tips my cooking love my camp oven cooking . nothing beats the outdoor flavours . Ramsey you watching old mate 3stars flavour lad 😅😅
Aww thank you. Yeah and using uniquely Australian ingredients is something not seen very often I think. I love using Golden Syrup and vegemite but I couldnt believe the taste when I decided to put it in my braised steak and onions recipe years ago. Its very tasty. Cheers and thanks for the compliments.
That was the kraft brand, you can get the tom piper brand still it's not too bad, good in the jaffle irons over the coals for an easy quick meal after driving and camping.
@georgetitchmarsh4606 that's just one of my Outdoor Connection ovens. Made in China like the rest these days. I bought 20 of them years ago to use for making breadrolls in my catering business
Definitely going to give it try - better than can of tom piper! Love watching your live shows when you roll into town Ron. Does Martina have any special filipino dishes cooked in the camp oven? Would she do a camp oven cook video?
Hi King, your so correct about the tinned Braised steak and onions. A great meal. Can you remember which company made them ? Nothing as good in the supermarkets now. Grant
I remember the original red tins when I was a kid, they were the Edgel brand back then. Now there are 2 brands available, Harvest and Tom Piper, neither are as good as the original, but the Tom Piper brand tastes better in a toastie.
Gday ron, I have watched this a few times and am going to give it a crack (novice) what I can’t pick up is the actual end cooking time , could you please put a L plater out misery
Ron I can almost smell and taste your Braised Steak n Onions through my phone!
😋😋😋
Great video, thanks.
I'm hungry now. 🤣🤣🤣

I remember the cans of braised steak and onions. I think everyone's mum use to cook with it back in the 70s. Yours looks good Ron.
Tastes good too mate. Thanks for the comment.
@@campovenking I bet it does as it looks like it would taste great.
Great recipe King Brown thanks for sharing with us.
I've just cooked this recipe I'm not sure how Kingbrowns tastes like But this is absolutely divine. Well done mate I hope I've done it justice.
Yeah its pretty good. glad you liked it. cheers
Great once again - in the US corn flour and corn starch is actually made with corn! Potato starch is my new favourite.
@markhiggins3054 ahh, I didn't know that. Cheers
@@campovenking doesn’t leave that floury taste like our Aussie one does.
Ron, I’ve been using blade/oyster blade for 30yrs in camp ovens, reckon it’s the only way to go.
Nice work mate, goes well with a soft damper too!
Cheers

I think it was Kraft! Before America bought it and shut it down I think.
I remember the old red tins were Edgel brand.
Instead of the Vegemite, try bonox, best stuff for beef stew or jerky.
ive heard that, but I eat vegemite so its always in the tucker box. I wouldnt know what to do with bonox lol

@peterbroughill it's a pretty quick dish. Once the meat and sauce are in it only needs to simmer for 15 minutes. I probably went 30
