I freakin LOVED how chaotic this was, you were learning something new but also teaching us. That's an incredibly hard thing to do, well done and props.
Entertaining and informative as always. Thanks for all your hard work especially as a new dad. It’s kept those of us who couldn’t get out for so long sane. Very much looking forward to the Rondo video as well. That would be a great Fire to Talk session with the right group to test them out.
@Harry, as always a great video on bush cooking :) thanks for the great idea for the potato bubbles. We made some tonight, but added a bit of a twist... We added diced jalapeno's and grated cheese and was freaking awesome.
Hard for potatoes to be star of the meal next to marron but I can see where your coming from. To all those that said "gnocchi", the flour to potato ratio is a lot different plus the corn flour (starch) will add another dimension
I think colonial have had the conventional lid for about three years now. I remember having a sesh on the pales at work chrissy do and yep they pour straight down the back of the throat, Bit like drinking schooners
I think a lot of people do not realise ""shallow fry"" means half submerged in oil PS maybe should have seasoned the spuds before you fried them, no salt or pepper when you mashed them ?
Another fantastic recipe for the camp-chef (Moi), I just find it hard to believe that I need to re-watch this episode (NEVER a bad thing, there is usually something I miss) just to write the recipe down! Those Marron look like melt-in-the-mouth protein goodness, and I've seen several different versions of the potato (usually by wanky, up themselves chefs), but never on a campfire! This one will be test-driven in 2 weeks' time when we all head off for a long weekend 4wd cum 21st birthday celebration for our eldest granddaughter. Stay well, Harry, catch ya in the next one!
Finally got around to buying a Zippo butane insert after watching this episode - just realised I should have tried to buy it via one of your links, but I live in the UAE so I don’t know if it would have gone to you that way! At least you can let Zippo know…
G'day Harry. I've been practicing with the Rhondas in the mix. To taste I guess but I'm using about 100ml of code brew coffee and Dugite Spiced rum. It's an awesome brew.
Is that a Kuksa ? I have a Swedish wooden drinking mug mate. I get different Swedish gifts from my in-laws sent over. They have great outdoor design gear.
Ok this was so good but I’m terrified of heating up oil. The first and last the only time I ever did it it set on fire and I nearly set our house on fire maybe I need the thermometer thing you have. I didn’t know I could get one of these. I’d probably still never heat oil again though to be honest.
Harry, i have a bunch of people over and would love to do a heap of these. Do you think you could do a heap of them and re heat in tho oven? Or do you think they would go soft? Cheers champ
Such a simple recipe Harry , my family is going to love them.

Those potato pillows looks great, I think would be even better with a bit of cheese through them.
Drink every time Harry says "actually" !

Had to search online for Marron. whoa, that's a big crawfish
All of it looked delicious. 🍻 lookin' forward to trying this

I'm not much for crayfish or crabs n such but that sure looked like a nice combination. Gotta try those potato puff things.
Fantastic episode, I would imagine the potatoes could be substituted with gnocchi if you are tight for time n space
How good are the South West Sours! Though they've changed the lid, the use to have a fully removable top so you could guzzle them :D

Good video as usual Harry, but how about something sweet rather than savoury some time (gotta have some pudding after the steak)

Can sweet potato be done like this Harry?

*cold*

That’s a fantastic question! I will watch for the answer.
Harry does this work if you just deep fry potato gnocchi?
Solid
What do you do with the old oil?
Now that's fresh fish and chips Any zippo discount code Harry?
Potato NUGGSSS
Meal fit for a king mate. That would cost a lot in a cafe or restaurant. Yummo
Mud prawns and mini hash browns
Is Maron the same as red claw?
No, different species. Both are nice but I prefer marron
Borderline fried Gnocchi
I thought this is call deep fry gnocchi
Because I’m American...I feel like the potatoes need a dipping sauce of some sort
Could always use two fire's mate?🤔 ahahah....also depending on size, could you call em potato, gems, nuggets? 🤷♂️
Think I would prefer a little more pan height around my boiling oil 🤕 ... potatoes look great!
So pretty much made gnocchi?
Didn't even show how to prep the Marron :O
doesn't the lighter fluid burn on your leg ?
This is just big gnocchi
Deep fried gnocchi
😎👍
instead of oil , You real butter.
I just had a mouthgasm when I saw the gratuitous b-roll. Saliva is running down my chin.
I just had to find out wtf "potato bubbles" were
Fried Gnocchi?
Deep fried gnocchi?
🤙🤙🤙
Hungover
Fry off with rice bran oil or olive ??
Rice bran mate
@@firetofork legend... I thought it was that fancy olive stuff 😉😉😉
Why do people peel potato's? in general I mean, not for this recipe
Crisp- it’s nearly impossible to make proper evenly crispy spuds with skin- it has too much moisture
Honestly thought you were going to say phallus shape instead of log. Also, please never say soft boy again.
