The slow motion was epic. The music was perfect for that especially with the chunk of the brake slowly flying toward the camera as it fell.
The slowmo is so spectacular. It almost looks fake, it's too perfect, like cgi.

2. Only use the breaks to slow down before a turning point.
3. if that’s not enough, stop and let break fluids cool down.

tr0n I have a spider gear on my fireplace mantle from when a friend did a massive single wheel burnout in his fwd eagle talon and blew up the diff / trans. a spider gear came out (all gauled up) along with a few other bits, and I've held onto it for like 14 years. teen memories, and a testament to not overheat a diff with one wheel peels.

i was doing a 7k rpm 2nd gear burnout in my Jetta GTX when i hit a manhole cover with the right tire...3 holes in the transmission case and the spidergear and it's cross-shaft ended up inside the bellhousing.

Thats awesome. what year was the Jetta? I have an 89 jeep cherokee, but my grandparents bought it new back in 89, and was passed down to my mom, then my dad drove it, then it sat in our garage for almost a total of about 6-7 years and I got it a year and a half ago as my fist car, the fucker has costed nearly $4,500 to get it running and keep it running since I first started driving it, but it's worth every penny because it has a lot of sentimental value. I've drifted it in the rain, jumped it over speed bumps, destroyed a prius bumper with it, and rallied it on dirt desert roads at 65 mph, and my dad nearly rolled it off roading last summer but it's still my baby. If she konks out right after college, I will just fix her back up no matter how much it costs, then mod it to be an overlanding machine, and then eventually give it to my kid in the future and make it their problem. First cars always tend to have a special place in your heart no matter how shitty or how much of a pain in the ass it is.

It's cool that in the slowmo footage you could clearly see the spot the brake disc was going to explode. There was a line on it that wasn't glowing as much maybe there was already some kind of micro crack that only got bigger to the point of explosion

just FYI:
a car disc brake needs the wheel bolts tightened to work properly. Otherwise the brake disc is attached only with a small holding screw.
You can see how it was wobbling, that's why the bolt holes wore out and also what caused early malfunction.
A well balanced disc won't fall apart like that.
So that's what made the video so spectacular :)
And how the part that is deformed is the first to fall apart of it ;-D

This is one of those videos that you favorite even before the intro is over. The holes were opened up by the lug studs because the wheel/lug nuts are what holds the rotor tight to the hub. Without a wheel, the brake disc was only being held on by the brake pads. It looks like the brake disc was starting to get ring forged when it exploded.

as long as I know in finland your car won't get license to drive if you have those. The car is frequently checked to see is it in condition to ride.
idebly in Holland we have a periodic safety check per year, vehicles 30 years of age get one per two years and pre 1960 is exempt. in the UK we have the same thing, only the guy who does it does not have a clue about older vehicles. I still have asbestos gaskets and brake/clutch linings on the shelf in a box marked do not use. it comes with the old barn full of parts territory.
