Basically the plot of the movie is that since Kaiba wasn’t there to witness the ceremonial duel with Yugi and Atem he doesn’t believe Atem is gone (the movie is apart of the manga continuity). In a prequel Kaiba actually builds a machine to attempt to duel the pharaoh but it almost kills him but being so close to death he saw the pharaoh. Then in the movie he tries to use the puzzle to resummon the pharaoh but as we know this doesn’t work. In the end he goes to the afterlife to finally fight Atem. Fun Fact: when Joey is saved and sees the pharaoh that actually is the memory of when Joey faced the pharaoh at the end of battle city.
Fun fact: DSOD is ONLY canon to the Manga. Hence Kaiba's plan. Manga Story; The final Duel happened without Kaiba present. Anime; Kaiba witnesses the final battle and gains Closure vowing that Yugi will be his true Rival since the Pharaoh Atem lost against him. Making Yugi the King of Games.
Honestly, I think it works both ways. For the anime, even if Kaiba was there, he would believe that maybe Atem was taking it easy or went soft. So he would believe that only by Yugi ALSO defeating Kaiba would it fully prove that Yugi is the King of Games.
Would it be fair to say Shadi is either directly or indirectly responsible for almost every villain in this series? Because it really feels like millenium items, the plana and even Alexander the Great were all his fault.
I love that after learning the Pharoahs real name, us fans continue to call him by his name. Now, I know that seems obvious, but I feel like in other fandoms, a character is stuck being called whatever name they were originally known as, whereas with Yami, we continue calling him Atem.
@SuperSayianWarrior and he says the same thing. I know I watched it and he says We Don't Know what that last card was so we will never know if he was about to lose but I watched the video and was screaming FUSION we know it's Fusion!
I think going at this from a reverse engineer idea won’t work - in real life, yes. This is a story though; it makes more sense that Kaiba did have something to stop him and thus the grin; my evidence: Kana traveled to meet Atem, if Yugi truly beat him, Yugi would be his true goal, Kaiba learned Yugi is not as skilled at Atem in their duel (Yugi vs Kaiba) in the literal movie being spoken in of.
@FacelessonaThrone no you fanboys ate the worst we Saw his hand! We know for a fact all he had left was Fusion theres nothing to speculate idiot. That smile was him realizing Yugi was his match after all
So a few things. There is a prequel Manga and event in Duel Links in which Sara uses Djinn the Cubic to mess with Kaiba IN Duel Links (since DL was being promoted around the same time as the movies release) Kaiba's custom Duel Disk is tied to his neruo cortex, meaning he thinks of something, it can happen, (DESPITE the series canonically taking place in the LATE 1990s) its actually what lead him to pull Obelisk out from the aetheric beyond as the duel was where Obelisk's Spirit laid in rest, plus Kaiba's connection to the God card itself. Obviously because of his 1(2) Encounters with the Plania, Kaiba was able to figure out the Magic, especially since because of DSoD taking place in the Manga's continuity, Kaiba knows of Egyptian Magic, just doesnt fully believe in it The Plania's powers awoke because of the Pharoah's passing, him coming back would strip them of the power entirely, Shadi even says so in the flashbacks. Kaiba straight up kills himself to get his salty runback with Atem
that means he did the same thing Atem did. In the real events 3000 years ago (not the one with the battle city Bakura), Atem ends his own life to seal Zorc and I guess Priest Seto erases Atem's name from the tablet that he made for them.
There actually is a reason Kaiba brushes off the power of the cube. And I'm not kidding when I say this, but Kaiba is immune to it because of his massive ego. The power of the Plana utilizes the power of harmony, and excessive ego is disruptive towards that. As such, Kaiba is so prideful and egotistical, he flat out negated it. Yes, this is actually a thing.
Kiaba firing an unknown employee for a weak water bottle, saying no to a 6th+ level spell of disintegrate and then using planar travel to go to heaven is why this movie is great.
Is it just me or is the tech level in this movie not right! The original story is supposed to take place in the late 90s! The technology in this movie should be close to the 90s, not something from the far future!

I'm pretty sure Kaiba went to the Egyptian afterlife at the end, not back in time
The hint to thst being Atem smirk when he saw Kaiba, probably thinking to himself "of course you found me"
yes, that is why his body is disintegrating in the same way that the Prana/Cubic Monster users make others disappear. his existence is being shredded

This is manga canon, so Alexander the great doesn't exist in this version but Shadi did indeed cost most of this
@@legendarylancers7446 Tbf Alexander isn't technically canon to the anime either since that was a spinoff anime

Finally someone mentions the fusion card kaiba fan boys always fight that he would have won with it
I mean TGS Anime has a video about the duel

"Kaiba spends the entire movie stroking his own ego" lol truer words were never spoken

Pretty sure that was established to be the Egyptian after life, not the past.

That's based af he is just so in love with himself that it doesn't work lol

Bruh, I was so confused that Shadi was apparently dead the entire time he was in the original show...
How did he give Yugi the Millennial Key then!?
15:05 lol of course he gonna have brick this is blue-eyes deck after all 🤣
I hate the ending. Yugi and Kaiba could have dealt with Aigami, bur they had to bring the Pharaoh back
the new duel disk design aint as good as the battle city one
I didn't say the first ever one, because that means the beyblade one lol
I wish they did more for the others shows
I love this movie so much ❤
The only thing I’m not a fan of is the dimension duels
Warte warte warte ich habe ein neues Englisches Video erwartet und nicht ein deutsches Meisterstück auf Englisch 😂
First, alos greadf video

@@ThePrincessCH That's still a continuity error! I don't care how cool it looks!
