Thanks for watching, from all of us at Matt's off-road recovery! Авто/Мото
Two phrases i never thought I would hear together: "Corvair grill" and "room for the winch".
Rudy is a badass welder fabricator. At such a young age his future is looking bright!
Working next to good teachers.
rudys mechanical mind trips me out every time
definitely has a great attitude
I see what you did there.
The team work is amazing !!! Matt's imagination, Rudy's welding, Lizzie to tidy up old panels and empty chip bags, and Ed to add character !!! Jaymie just brings a graceful sanity to the whole proceedings.
Rudy’s welding skills are gonna be top notch when he’s done ... all those hours of welding just makes you better... cannot wait for this build to be done !
Rudy, as a young man with crafty hands I can really appreciate the work you are doing. You only obtain skills like that by spending a lot of your childhood working on your skills. you do good work
Rudy's grill looks bad ass! Just my 2 cents by the emblem needs to go where the body lines peak by those headlights. It makes the body line feel continuous across the front and just meshes with the design language better than doing it offset.
Agreed! Just be sure to give it generous support so it doesn’t get destroyed by a branch or debris out on the trail. 😬👍
Towards the top. The Winch will absorb a lot of the space at the bottom.
Agreed it looks to badazz and right with it there to even consider putting it anywhere else
Even if that possibly means more work when it’s winch mounting time it needs to be there
@@coreyperez13 Did he say there is going to be a dedicated winch, or detachable hitch winch?
Not up high. It gets lost up there. Front and center!
I know my TV can't give me welder's flash but I still close my eyes every time you fire it up!!
LEDs behind that emblem but in front of the grille will look AWESOME
Oh yeah. That would be epic.
Who edits these videos together? Often underappreciated. Very well done!
Coming together nice. The front grill emblem looks best aligned with the points of the headlight trim.
I think his idea of moving it up will look better with the winch in the way. It will mostly be covered by the winch if it's in the center on the headlight points. Minor details lol
They should use some thin zip ties, set it up in a few spots and stand back and take a look at it, probably looks best in the middle but might look good at the top
@@skie6282 yes! Love that idea. On my cars it would start with zipties for Mock-up purposes and then just stay that way forever lol 🤣
This is officially my favourite show now, I can't wait to see that beauty doing some recovery in the sand
It is good to howl at the moon, what else would you howl at Matt? Rudy has welded his first entire car soon. Nice to see Trevor again, you guys have a great group. Thanks for doing the video, entertaining to watch. Always good to hear Randy's laugh.
I can't wait to see the look on people's faces when the recovery crew shows up in a Corvair.
I think people are going to hear this thing before they see it
Can’t wait for the toy version
Is that why they are building it?
i get the feeling that's why they are building it
most of the people we see matt pull out will have no idea what that car is, clueless.
Wow, does this mean Ed is the first one to officially "drive" the Corvair?
I loved how Matt told Ed to put on the brakes, and he looked down wondering WTF the brake pedal was. On Fab Rats we get to see that there is only a gas pedal right now,
Only by using the pedals
You know how they say cars used to be all metal. I now see what they mean. Every single piece of this baby is welded together. Its beautiful
Awesome! Looking really good! Hats off to Rudy for all the great welding and fab work 🎩
Salt and Vinegar chips, Yes, I'm with you on that Lizzie.
I'm with Lizzie on a lot of things. She needs her own youtube by association spinoff channel!!!
I am alll about salt and vinegar😂😂
I'll add a me too to the Salt and Vinegar chips. Matt better be careful about what he says about Lizzie's eating habits, he could stir up a angry hornets worth of nasty comments.
They go great with a tuna sandwich that has dill pickle relish in it.
Sea salt
I really enjoy watching this build.. Great “FAMILY” channel..
Rudy is amazing! Major skills. Also, personality wise he is a great asset to the whole family feel to the channel. I'm a huge Rudy!
man, this has to be the best series on youtube!
I believe Rudy has got welding just about figured out, it is looking good.
HE IS DOING GREAT
It's like character development in a movie. I began watching over a year ago with Rudy being back up to Matt. Now that he's shown a lot of talent and artistry, he's easily becoming my favorite character in this series. Err I mean person 💁🏼♂️
Seeing that grill and the stick shift was damn satisfying. Great job guys. Gonna go check out the Fab Rats video. Cheers
Wow, awesome work guys even since my son and I were there last week. All of you there are REAL people. And Matt when you said that you loved doing this, the smile on your face shows you really do. Thanks to Ed, Rudy, Matt and the rest of the crew. Take care and be safe out there.
I’m thinking paint shops are going to come up with a new code for a color everyone is going to want- Winder’s Yellow
I can’t wait for the first recovery with it👍🏼 will be the coolest thing in the sand
I think my shop storage is a mess then I see Matt's and I feel better about myself. Thanks Matt
Got a friend like that, we need something he starts diggin & usually comes up with what we need. If stuff was organized where it can be found it tends to walk off.
Can't wait to see this thing jumping the dunes with a trailer on the back!
Matt's like a kid in a candy store see his vision finally coming together! Looks good !! can't even imagine all the hours that have gone into that rig to get it to the finish rig !
What better place for everyone hanging out.
That storage area is NOT a mess, its a scheme I call abstract organization and works for me. This is an awesome example of teamwork, but Rudy, you are the MVP of this build. Matt is lucky to have you.
I'm just realizing that everyone on your team as an MVP in their own aspect they all shine at something yes I know most people shine at something
Yes, and all have managed to survive in spite of the education system expecting everyone to be the same. After forty years as a shop teacher I still maintain that each of my students were different, just different gifts.
@@freddyfriesen I agree
That’s coming on well. The front end is brilliant
This build is awesome. Can't wait for the episode when Matt makes a call and has to have the Corvair towed out by the banana...
My Dad loved his Corvairs. He bought one and wore it out, then bought another. He traveled all over Utah in the 60's. They were great in the snow and got good gas milage.
He hated Ralf Nadder, until the day he died.
Nader gave them a bad rap. They really weren’t significantly worse than any other car of the time, and after the first model year the rear suspension was improved.
It's Nader, and yeah, he's a POS. And yes he, lied about the Corvair.
@@46wireboy Please correct me if wrong, but I got curious and Googled that Mr Nader. He is to be seen in a video were he 'OUOTES' a letter, written by some one else.
Should be Rudy’s Corvair he welded most of it. Grill looks great and functional.
Think that's what Matt pays him to do......
Rudy is Matt's son, so it all will be his maybe I don't know but just maybe
Looking real good, Rudy deserves a raise. 👍🏼👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼🇺🇸
The emblem lined up with the points of the headlights would look rad, especially if it was floating over the recessed grill.
Aw man you gotta paint it yellow. It's your signature. Things gonna weigh 10000 pds but eds right. Its a armored car lol. Love from the great white north
Agreed! "It's gonna look good" Starting to look like a car now. Get the doors hung, and she'll really take shape! Niiice build guys!
I can’t wait to see this baby done she’s coming together beautifully
I'm not even working on this and still feel emotionally invested in this build. This is coming along way better then I expected! 🤘
Those new-fangled transmissions where a guy underneath the car calls out the gears was way ahead of its time....
I’ve never watched a full car build before but for some reason this thing has me so excited. Can’t wait
It's because you know it will bring more great videos! Not only from the building process.
If you are enjoying this, check out Bad Obsession Motorsports. That will get the juices flowing, too. Expect to be amazed. Check out Binky, their Mini Cooper build.
The look of someone genuinely pleased and happy when a plan comes together! 15:33
I see the American Pickers showing up to go through Matts yard!
The perfect theme music for this build would be:
One Piece at a Time -Johnny Cash
😂
Most underrated comment under this video!
That's been running through my head throughout this whole build series!
That is perfect
I'm really impressed with the built quality of this project. This will be the coolest recovery vehicle.
As the world turns, Project Corvair is coming to life. Thanks for letting us see the Corvair being built👍🇺🇸..
Rudy is a awesome man the every father would be so proud of, way to go Matt and Jamie. Super cool build.
Like an Armored Car, I like that Ed.
Amazing work.....grill looks totally awesome rudy !!!!!.....can't wait till Matt can "drive it like he stole it"....we all know he's gonna let er eat !!!!..... great job and merry Xmas to all. . Even Lizzy....lol 😆
The end is almost here but so far away. You guys have made tremendous progress on this project. Can't wait until Jan 1 is here to see the final result. :)
We don't always see Randy, but we always know when he's there. That laugh. Dead give away. You go Randy!
Wow, what an amazing build. Just the work on the grill alone is something to be proud of.
Coming together bit by bit. Love the new grill and the emblem is going to look awesome.
Looking great when I was a kid we had that exact year and make. Ended up cutting the back of the wagon roof off and made a pickup bed for it
Rudy's got mad fab skills!!! It has been really interesting to watch this come together.
Salt and Vinegar chips/crisps over here, all time classic. I'm right with you Lizzie.
It looked like Matt was really excited about his organization bin idea.
I grew up with my grandfather having one of every model of Corvair. He taught me lots of stuff. It is so cool to see you guys making this as awesome as it is.
We enjoy all your episodes and appreciate the respect everyone has for each other. Your show with no profanity is like a breath of fresh air. Thank you for all the enjoyment you bring to our family.
New channel idea: “Matt’s Hoarding Recovery” where it’s just the guys going through all the stuff Matt is storing
The RV storage just about pushed me over the top.
Matt, you need some intermodal containers...
Any hometown mechanic and or towing business thats been around for a while is going to have just as much "stuff" as they do. That's extremely common and normal.
@@robertlayton8156 should have a part for every breakdown.
I smell a collaboration with @Curiosity Inc!
@@robertlayton8156 my grandpa was a farmer and a mechanic. He had similar piles of stuff and it seemed like he always had whatever was needed to fix what he was working on.
You might want to consider battleship grey for part of the paint since it’s being built like a battleship , great build
You must be so proud rudy's doing a great job and the rest of you are doing alright as well
Ed reminds me of my late granpa so much, somebody who just loves to be along for the ride w everyone.
Is anyone going to talk about the GINORMOUS Yankum at 10:22 ? Didn’t know Matt recovered entire planets..
Ed is my favorite youtuber👍
I love this build. You are really getting through this fast. Super impressed.
I had a twin stick Dana 300 with a 4:1 on my TJ and it was just awesome, and it was fun to install the flip kit and the twin stick and 4:1 kit on it. Originally came out of an 81 CJ I believe. I imagine the 4:1 may not be as useful in the sand as it was on the rocks. With the 4:1 it would go SO SLOW in 1st gear that you could just hop out and walk next to it. You could down a STEEP hill with no brakes and it would barely speed up. Loved that thing so much, i wish i still had it.
BTW, that was some impressive work on the grille area, Rudy!
Ahhh the famous.. "The cans have all the fasteners." line...
HI MATT I SEE IT'S COMING TOGETHER NICELY BY THE TIME IT'S ALL DONE AND SAID YOU ALL CAN SAY A PROJECT WELL DONE AMEN GOOD JOB
I have an urge to go out to the garage and get a chilled Mountain Dew and view these new contributions.
I can't wait for the corvairkilldozers' first run! (Sure hope it doesn't get stuck...the banana isn't going pull it.)
Don't underestimate the banana 😉
That's a decent size yankum at 10:21, you getting a 70t tank next?!
I stopped to check-the comments to see if anyone else noticed that freakin crazy yankum rope !! 🤪
Cant wait for the finished product!!!
Right now this is the most interesting build of all the builds I am watching. Any body can build a super car but it takes special talent to convert an old Corvair wagon into an off road monster.
It's coming together. It's going to be one BADASS Corvair.
500k subs here we come!
I love this build series!
Great teamwork! I can't wait to see it finished and painted.
Watching this from the UK. That Corvair is just awesome.
Love the build! This hopefully won’t be the last. Have you thought about putting your signature Corvair louvers in the hood for increased airflow?
Some of the best welding work I've seen in a while, Rudy. Great content guys! Love it!!
Very enjoyable build, thanks for bringing us along. Awesome crew and turning out to be a awesome looking ride.
Just run the exhaust's out the old fuel filler hole 😂😂😂😂 and cut the same out the other side and have STACKS 😲😲😲
It’s only fitting for Ed to be the first one to drive it out of the shop.
That's gonna be one badass build. Way to go Matt and crew. Can't wait to see it in action.
I can do nothing but relate to the man with the beard taking orders exactly like he did. Love it. Love random shit and learning. He’ll be a good hand if he’s not already.
He needs to be in more videos I love him
"Hallowed are the Ori!" - Somewhere late in Stargate SG-1
Fab Rats & Pack Rats! 🔩⚙🔧
I'm loving this build. Can't wait to see it finished.
I am really enjoying seeing much more of Rudy in the videoes as he is a very talented young man! This is going to be one heck of a beast when Matt & crew are finished with it, especially with Paul's hands on board.
On the next episode of “Hoarders, buried alive”.... time to clear out that yard! 😝
Considering how many corvars he use to have that is really clean.
Never
No, we might need something
He's not hoarding! He's saving it for future awesomeness
It doesn’t look that bad 🤷🏻♂️
10:20 Is no one going to talk about that giant yankum rope? lol
Came to the comments to see if anyone else noticed that python 😂
I noticed. Can't wait to see it used. Probably can't fit it into the back of the Jeep.
Seeing the Corvair rolling and a side view for the first time, wow it's going to be cool. Back the 70's one of my Dad's friends built a military looking rig off a Corvair Briar (or maybe a wagon). He was the auto shop teaching and also built a paper from an Army mobile hospital. Wish I knew what happened to him and those cool old builds.
Matt you look so chuffed, you're beaming every time you examine the work done by your team, they are a credit to themselves and you.
Love these guys!!
I dream to have a shop like this one day
I hope you guys are happy with this when it is done. This is an amazing amount of work for something that will be unique, but may not be more capable then the Jeep your running now.
The Corvair is looking awesome, can't wait to see the finished product.
Coolest build on youtube!!!!
