It’s nice to see another A7 TDI getting tuned up. I thought that I was the only one. Thank you for all of the parts and tuning services that the Darkside team has provided for my A7 over in the US.
The A7 has to be the best Audi in recent years and the grey spec with Bentley wheels is brilliant. Have you ever experimented with 3073 or 3279 turbo on the 3.0TDI or BMW B57?
Can you do this turbo upgrade with the DPF still in? I live in Germany and without the DPF our TÜV (inspection needed every 2 years) would send the car off the road unfortunately
I have a smart 453 with a Upgrade Turbo and Stock cat on it. Works, yes i had more Power with a 200 cell cat but I am also from germany (Hamburg). Should work, also looking for my a7
The bigger metering valve flows too much fuel. Fine if the outside temps are above 10oC as soon as my fuel temp is below 8oC I hit protection maps. The metering valve can’t regulate the rail pressure fast enough. I’m running 2700bar rail sensor. Protection map set at 2300bar, rail pressure set at 2200bar. I see massive spikes in rail pressure, when the fuel is cold
@DarksideDevelopments i have your setup purchased from you. Thank you. Wasn't a dig, but the metering upgrade valve was/is not required, For the maximum airflow the hybrid turbo can produce. Standard injectors and pump still going strong over 12k. I'm making slightly more power than you, but that could be the dyno. Well done, as i said wasn't a dig but i feel it's not required.
Is this engine and gearbox better/worse than the 3.0BiTDI 8 speed combo, or just down to preference etc? I haven't seen many more vids from you guys on the SQ5/3.0BiTDI. Have they fallen out of flavour or prefernce? Cheers from Aus.
The 8 speed is a better gearbox, Scott did want the BiTdi with the 8 speed. Not done a whole lot on the SQ5's. The 272 model in this A7 does around 320hp on a remap where as the BiTdi should do around 360-380bhp
I have c7 allroad bitdi with a stage 1. The engine/gearbox combo work really well. Acceleration is impressive too. 😁For a big heavy car. Long term mpg avg is just over 40mpg for the last 30k miles. 👍
@@greigmackay8465 the bitdi allroad didn't come to Australia as far as I know and I've never seen an estate a6 with the bitdi either. Only the a6 sedan, a7, and sq5 have the bitdi and 8 speed combo. Happy to hear it's still a solid combo 10 years later and still worth trying to get. Cheers
Depends on what kind of power you're looking for and what kind of age you want the car to be. Can't go wrong with the old 1.9 and 2.0 PD's. If you're wanting a big power car, the 3.0 tdi's are probably the best audi have to offer, plenty of after market support. Bmw's are very easy to make big power on though, with the 30/35d's especially. Can achieve up to 390bhp very easily with just an intercooler and remap
They aren't unfortunately. Links are in description for the parts in this video and you can drop us an email to sales@darksidedevelopments.co.uk with reg/vin and we can give you a list of parts and costs including labour
Hi! I have an 15 plate A6 with 3.0 tdi(single turbo) and 214bhp or 160kw as it said on the sticker. What sort of power increase can I have without removing EGR, DPF and AdBlue? I'm asking this because it's my first ever Audi, and I just don't know much about them. But I am curious ^^ . Thank you!
Looking to purchase a Q7, is the 3.0TDI V6 the same engine as in the A7 or are there lots of variants? Would be keen on a steer of best engine code to look out for as most reliable for a stage 1 Map? would you recommend any other replacement parts to achieve 300hp or there abouts? tia
I’ve got same a7 the 272 bhp had a map and gearbox map. Now it’s got 318bhp. How much it cost to get it too 400bhp? Basically what you’ve done to this a7???

More than likely injectors, we've seen it a few times with them. Get them to drop us an email to sales@darksidedevelopments.co.uk with reg/vin if they want anymore advice on the issue and parts needed
Not done much on the newer m40d's as of yet so. Based on previous years, we've done more development on the 30/35d's, can imagine they'll be just as strong as the 35d's
This one is the single turbo, most we've had out of a bitdi was 409bhp but we've not pushed them far enough yet but 650 would take a lot. We got just over 500 with a single turbo on our A5 project
Cool video! But can I just say that instead of trying to start the car at 4:38 for 2-3 sec you can just sort of "prepare" the pumps from software, and then it fires off immediately. It may affect the engine in the future because it's essentially running on nothing. That's what my mechanic does at least.
I have bought Audi A6 BITDI STAGE1 around 360ish BHP 800NM i have a video on my page "youtube" take a look my car has done 104Kmiles when does the timing need to be done?
Between 80k and 120k is a good time. The chains themselves are normally strong, it's the guides that tend to fail. Got a video on it here - ruclips.net/video/-2cJAmUXqJs/видео.html

How long as an "average" do the 3.0 TDI timing chains last? This is just info, since I am getting ready to find an A6/7 here in the US. We only got up to the V2, 2016 version, I think?
There is no set mileage, we have seen them needed anything from 60k to 160k+. Luckily they don't just fail like some BMW engines, you can hear the rattle on start up when the start failing.

Vag tdi engines are cool. I have 3.0tdi with 320hp and 5.9tdi with 600hp/1150nm. Used to have 4.2tdi with 490hp 980nm, but sold it
Nice! What was the best engine out of the 3?
@torquesteer2657 all of them are good. But I like 4.2tdi the most since it was with 8AT (Cayenne 958), unlike 5.9tdi, that only works with 6AT (Q7)
This is like Christmas and New Year at the start of the year. 11/10! 😍🔥🔥🔥

Actuator adjustment tool to check the vanes move freely and won't touch the turbine
