  • Will I be Successful or will I be Stranded?
I've decided to do something for the very first that and it could potentially leave me stranded. I always enjoy seeing things in a different or unique way and I thought it would be interesting and possibly challenging to do a long distance ride on an ebike. The company states their bike can go up to 200 miles on a single charge, but can it even go 80 miles? We're gonna find out and along the way we're gonna see some interesting sights and even have to deal with an unfortunate experience along the way.

This ebike has a large battery. The reason why you didn't see the battery bar go down is related to the discharge curve of lithium-ion batteries. So even if there is a percentage readout on the battery, that won't help as much since you'll remain above 90% for quite a while and then as it discharges, each percentage will go down quicker than the previous.
Lithium-ion batteries have a discharge curve that's not linear. When you start using a fully charged lithium-ion battery, it tends to maintain a relatively high voltage and capacity for a while. This means that initially, it appears to hold a high percentage of its charge for an extended period.
However, as you continue to use the battery, especially as it reaches the middle and lower range of its capacity, the voltage drops more rapidly, and the capacity is used up more quickly. This phenomenon is because the voltage of the battery decreases as it discharges, and the rate of voltage drop becomes steeper as the battery gets closer to being fully depleted.
In summary, the larger capacity of a lithium-ion battery allows it to provide a longer-lasting high percentage of its charge initially, but as it depletes, the rate of capacity drop becomes more pronounced due to the non-linear discharge curve.

I loved this video, truly. I was glued to my seat and that seldom happens, as I’m usually always moving. Loved seeing the drive-in (a fading thing). We have one by us (Becky’s Drive-In in Berlinsville). Sorry about your bite on you head (I do think it was a 🐝). What fun your day was and that lady that helped you was so sweet and genuine, not many of that breed left. Thanks for taking us for a ride through the towns and you should be very wealthy now that you found Bigfoot. 🤗💙

This bike has a battery voltage meter on the main display all you have to do is cycle through settings with the "i" button to find it. Reading the voltage is going to be far more accurate than a battery percentage bar.

Most spiders don't really hurt that bad when they bite. Was cool seeing all that "junk" on the side of the trail.

JP i have the same bike in white but you didn't mention if its the 48V 750W or the 52V 1000W ? Mines the 48v version same 60 AH battery Ive gone about 112-118 miles on one charged mostly throttle using PAS 4 to 5 most of the ride with little pedaling. Im not sure if you know this BUT when they say an E bike is 48 volts thats the nominal voltage. When its fully charged it will read about 55 volts. A 52 volt system when fully charged will read about 58 Volts. The 1/2 way voltage is about 46.8 volts meaning all things equal (speed, the amount of pedal assist, head wind / Tail wind etc.) if you traveled say 42 miles and your voltage is down to about 46.8 volts you can go about another 42 miles under similar conditions. If your bike is the 52 volt set up the 1/2 mark is about 50.4 volts. THIS is what I call the magic number to guage what range you're going to get on any specific trip! I figured this out early on from research. You can get the actual voltage reading by pressing the info button, ( ! ) press it 5 times from the main screen when you turn on the bike and you will see that current voltage charge youre at. This is very helpful IMO. Just an FYI im a smaller guy 5' 8" 145 lb. and as mention ive gotten over 100 Miles on a charge both times I did a range test. These bikes are a good value and look super cool esp in white. Safe riding Bro enjoy. Oh side note you can change at what voltage level the bars start going down. You have to go into advanced settings and you can taylor each bar from 1 to bar 5 of the voltage level to have each bar go down sooner. I had gone like 60 miles and I was showing all 5 bars which I knew was BS LOL I taylored it to show about 3 bars when I go down to like 47 volts. Each of the 5 bar/ voltage levels I changed to be more realistic of what I am using. Hope this helps!

If this stuff is growing in america - ribwort plantain (Plantago lanceolata) is a great first aid for insect stings and bites, even if you touched the nettles. I use that stuff all the time whenever I accidentally offended an ant or when I touched a stinging nettle. My mom even rubbed it onto a wasp sting once and she says it quickly went away. Just pick a leaf or two, crush it with your fingers until the juice comes out and rub it onto the spot. Just wanted to leave this here in case you'd find it useful :) You will look as if you have a bruise afterwards but it's worth it in my opinion :D

Hey Jay, this is Steve from Toronto Canada. Was impressed on the range of this Ebike. I have a Magnum Scout Ebike myself and what I find frustrating is that The "bar" battery accuracy is rarely accurate. For example you my not lose one battery bar for 30 miles but then the remaining bars will quickly expire, based of the same riding profile. Also have you ever heard of a Romeo E bike also boasting a 60AH battery, made by Eahora? Also curious to know if you have ever explored the ghost town Centralia Pa from where you live, be it Scranton or Wilkes Barre area.

Some spiders bites can be very bad. My mother got bit by a brown recluse that was in bags of mulch she bought for the flower bed we had in our front yard.
She spent two months in the hospital and nearly lost her legs from those bites. So be careful when trekking around.

  • @EuropaWill
    @EuropaWill 2 месяца назад

I'm about 25 min into the video and super impressed with the battery performance. Also, you probably got stung by a wasp, as they don't leave their stingers in you, they just retract them back into their body and can sting you multiple times without any negative consequence to them. Just finished the video, you're a road warrior for doing a 73 mile ride over 5 hours! Wow, that seat must be phenomenal. I might have to get one. You should have taken a voltage reading of the battery after your ride to see what the voltage of it was post ride. That would tell you exactly what percentage of charge is left. I'm fairly certain the display isn't giving you accurate estimate or remaining charge and that could be a real downside to that display. I agree with you that it should be showing a remaining voltage or % left based on voltage to help remove the mystery.

I just got the Aniioki A7 pro last week. It claimed you could do 40-50 miles without peddling. And 100 miles with pedal assist. I’ve been riding 10 miles a day since I got it and I’m a little disappointed bc so far I have to recharge it every 30 miles and that’s with doing a lot of pedaling. So it doesn’t even do half the distance it claims it could do. Guess I should have spent the extra money and got the bigger battery bike A8. I don’t ever plan on doing a long distance ride like you did here so I guess I’ll keep it cause I bought it to lose weight and all the peddling I’ve been doing is making that happen. Happy riding….

    • @Krahamus

40-50 miles depends on what speed without pedaling, also it depends on your weight, temperature outside, is there any hills etc, so it really depends, in the end never trust manufacturers range, they always off, and not really explain how you can achieve that range.

A mixture of water and bleach or ammonia (but not both please) will neutralize the acid from wasp/hornet/bee stings. I always carry a small well marked bottle in my pack. 1/3 to 2/3 distilled (optional, tap work too) water works nice. Just a drop will bring relief. The sooner applied the better. Yes they inject you with a type of acid, isn't that a lovely thought?

I did enjoy your information. I since I get my next ebike this next week, I expected I could ride 100 miles while peddling some. I have 52v and 60Ah, so that should run just fine. I personally ride up and down hills regularly. My hills are 40% up, so that will run the battery down faster. I will have one extra battery, while using my trailer. They mention information incurred, but that's like it in many purchases. Thanks!

I was just there last weekend. As for the pain, I'd say it was a wasp. Their sting will throb a bit and the pain linger's. Yellow jacket isn't as bad. Neither one will leave the stinger. However, hornets' will. I was nearly killed with about 135 stings from a hornets' nest as a kid. Nice bike & adventure!

Thankfully u made it back and met that lovely woman to help. I'm close to 70 id like an ebike but would never get one. The main reason If it broke down
I could never pedal it even a short distance. You have the advantage of having yr wife come for you as she did when the accident occurred. Many don't have family or a good friend or a cars trunk too small to fit the bike.

How much does that particular electric bike cost? I don't have a vehicle spend a lot of money on rides to get to and from work and it would be so nice to have something like that because I only work about 15 miles round trip away from where I live and I get tired of walking or taking the city bus. That looks like a good investment. Also I think it's a beautiful thing to see strangers going to help someone out because this modern world you don't see that very often.

@Master0fHyrule you have to change it like any other bike tire. Remove the wheel with tools and switch out the tires. But the softer wide tires make it easier to unmount and mount. At the end of the day it's still a bike.
