This arrangement, with these original women, with the bagpipes has been my most favorite. I'm a male vocalist, but i listened and watched and learned from these vocalists and their brillant classical methods . Without formal training, but a lot of mentoring, i've been told my pitch, color and a not forced vibrato is wonderful. and i owe a lot of this from these vocalists.
I live in a Celtic country and was lucky enough to have somebody sing this for us at our wedding. Each time I hear it I get shudders but this was a phenomenal arrangement. I do love Celtic Woman. Thank you for your reaction!
It isn't just you. I get goosebumps when I hear the pipes. The pipes were played at my uncle's (DA) funeral. I told my other uncle (his brother) " I don't know how you kept it together. He told me, "I was ok until they started playing the pipes".
Brother, I ain't just you. As a member of a couple of different Honor Guards, I have participated in around 40 funerals for Military, Fire/EMS, and Law Enforcement personnel that paid the ultimate sacrifice. I am fine until the pipes. Then it is hard to keep my bearing. Even watching this video, I have to have some tissues in case my eyes start sweating.
Love bagpipes my ancestry is from the Scottish Highlands, but unfortunately they really get to me because I've attended too many Law Enforcement officer funerals where they are played.
These ladies certainly put on a show. They are so perfectly matched and supported by an amazing orchestra, choir and conductor. Your critique was very well delivered and explained. Thank you.
been a celtic woman fan for almost a decade now. We all definitely need more people reacting to celtic woman :) Chloe Agnew is what I imagine what an Angel's voice sounds like
Celtic Woman have always been amazing pardon the pun. Hard to believe Chloe Agnew was only 19 when this was performed. Plus another memorable version of Amazing Grace is IL Divo’s.

This sounds like an ancient hymn from out of mythology. I have been to four of their concerts here in the states over these many years. They are phenomenal.
I just love your genuine reaction to their harmonies. I saw that combination of Celtic Woman live in 2009 and they sang Amazing Grace and I was balling. I can't help, but cry when I hear this group and especially this formation.
This has long been my favorite rendition of Amazing Grace. I cry every single time. The entire cast and crew of Celtic Woman created not only a masterpiece, but a joyful song to The Lord. I gotta say, I wholeheartedly agree and loved your review and commentary. Loyal fan and subscriber, and I'm so happy you chose Celtic Woman. Please review more Songs From The Heart. Can't wait to watch more.
Checkout "You Raise Me Up! sung beautifully and "O, America" a song written following the event the occurred on 9/11 - very moving. Love your analysis of Angelina Jordan and of this song. Need to do more of Angelina Jordan!
You are so pleasant to watch. Other reactors interrupt the piece and I think, "...well, OK, get on with it..." When you pause a piece, it's interesting and instructive. You are very, very pleasant. It's a joy to listen to you.
I've seen these ladies in concert.it was one of the most beautiful experience when it comes to concerts...trans Siberia orchestra was right up there...the voices...just everything incredible
Beth you are such a ray of sunshine! I love your versatility in music. One of the best vocal coaches in RUclips. Your videos demonstrate knowledge, technique and passion. A real pleasure to watch. Well done! Love Celtic Woman. Pure light on a musical tone ✨🌞✨
I'm not a believer in god or anything spiritual but damnit I love listening to great talent like this , it shows up so much in religious songs . My mom and i loved Celtic Woman , and I actually got to see them live here in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was in the hospital, unfortunately shortly before her death , and I called her and said guess what show I got to see , she said she was so jealous but happy I got to go. In my heart I had went and saw it for the both of us, I knew she would've loved to have been there with me. I cried alot during the show and said " oh mom I know you would've loved this ". She loved bagpipes as well, and all the pageantry and elegance of Celtic Woman. I'm glad I saw your video, it was so nice seeing your reaction to it and it brought back fond memories for me. Thank you for everything you do, you help more people than you'll ever know.
I love Celtic music. It’s so emotional. 3 instruments that will usually (if not always) bring a tear to my eye are the piano, violin, and bagpipes If you haven’t already done so, I recommend the live stripped down version of Nightwish’s How’s The Heart. Also in honor of Marko’s incredible career, can you do Kiss While Your Lips Are Still Red and his Voice of My Father
My favorite experience with bagpipes was at Minneapolis's MaCalester College when they held one of their Highland Games festivals. There must have been at least a dozen pipe bands from all over marching and playing with each other at the same time. They started a city block or two away from the parade ground and played as they came to the field.
My husband laughed at me because we were in New Orleans walking down the street when I heard bagpipes start playing at an outdoor wedding and I just stopped walking and closed my eyes, but it wouldn't stop my tears. He couldn't understand that, to me, it was so beautiful it hurt... it called to my soul. I dunno if it has anything to do with it, but I am of Irish decent (4th generation immigrant).
Hi Beth. I LOVE your reaction videos! I started watch these types of videos a couple of months now and I must say that yours have been pushed to the top of my list. They’re wonderful. I’m in the States, white and 73 years old. I confess to be an apparent Pentaholic but having grown up in NC, I experienced THE best music era. I’ve binged on your reaction today, those artists that I know and love only getting down to this one, Celtic Woman. They are incredible and I miss them in the ensemble here. I attended 2 concerts and have many of their DVDs and CDs. Yep, a fan! Thank you for this one, my ears loved it. I heard many of the “things” that you pointed out but never was able to put my finger on why. Thank You. I’ll keep going back in your catalog to look for some Platters, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Tavares and The O’Jays. Seeing that you have 600k subscribers, making a request to hear some “Carolina Beach Music” would never fly. 😪. I’ll look for The Embers, The Band of Oz, The Tams, Sam Cooke and The Drifters. Maybe I’ll get lucky. Again, thank you for your insights. Loving them.
Love love love Celtic Woman!! And Lisa Kelly is my favorite! Thank you for doing this one, Beth! Really enjoy your videos. Wish I’d grown up in Ireland. Love the Irish music so much. And nothing better than Amazing Grace!!! Would love to see you react to some of the best of the 10th Anniversary Les Miserables Dream Cast performance at Royal Albert Hall!
Chloe Agnew is the original Celtic Women she joined them at 15 years old i discovered them when i used to watch hulu a new journey was my baptism into their music and been a fan since then buying every new albums
I love this version. Just thought I’d let you know that the girl in the pink dress with the long blonde hair is Chloe and her mam is someone called twink!!
. . . you should react to the acapella version of Danny Boy from this same concert. I heard them sing it live twice, and just the harmonies alone can bring tears to your eyes and put a lump in your throat--- from beginning to end, not to mention the lyrics. The entire crowd was in stunned silence during and directly after it was sung, like we were in the presence of angels---- way beyond the cliche term "she sounded like an angel sent from heaven". In this case, they seemed like they were ACTUAL mysterious and holy heavenly beings. It is perhaps the most beautiful and otherworldly thing that I have ever heard. Check it out.
Do you want to see a grown man cry? This is how you do it. One of the best versions I've ever heard. Secondnonly to massed band at a parade festival. A Marine band, local high-school band and the NC fire fighter's pipe and drum corps.
Wasn't expecting the pipes in the beginning. Having many family members and friends being current and former law enforcement and fire fighters, and for anyone with the same, and especially those who have lost, this song on pipes hits differently. Sgt. Anthony Michael Wallace Hoonah Police Department, Alaska EOW 08/29/2010
Mine also. He used to sing it to my brother and I while riding around on his motorcycle with him. We sang it at my brother's funeral, and then again at my dad's funeral.
i think this was the best celtic woman line up ever chloe has the voice of an angel but i also love lisa's voice would love for you to do a reaction on lisa kelly may it be
I clicked on this because of course, being from Scotland, you kinda have to. But I think because I hear our accent all the time, I'm so used to it. I didn't even realise you were Scottish! 😅 I can hear it clear as day now! Love your reactions. Been following since the first Jinjer Reaction. 🙂 Alba gu bràth! EDIT: Just noticed you have videos in Scotland last month and that you've moved back!
Excellent review...Misty Mountains by Peter Hollens and Feat Tim Faust (bass from home free) will send you back to your ancient roots all the way to middle earth...its so well done and you will hear a note from Tim that will knock you off your chair
Interesting that you knew of the speculations that bagpipes originated in India (I'm not arguing or defending that theory, just making an observation that I'm glad you knew of it). I've also heard that the bagpipe originated in the areas of ancient Egypt and Persia. Oh yea, I loved that performance. Thanks for reacting to it Beth.
If she checks it out the scottish bagpipes came from lreland same as whisky the stone of scoon. And the garlic language just it got lost in rewritten history
And to sort-of answer your other query, i'm not sure who did the sound mixing per se, but the choral director (at the time) Rosemary Collier, probably had a hand in it as well. xx
I saw a reference to New Zealand’s Hayley Westenra who sang with Celtic Women (I believe she claimed some Irish connection through a grandmother). I have begged reviewers to comment on Hayley’s “I Dream a Dream” recorded live in Belfast, please be the first to do so!
Beth, greetings from Brazil! I have some 9 dvds of this group, and I have to say that the emotion you demonstrated in your levely face, is the same I always feel when I see one of the dvds, again and again and again. Check "My Lagan Love", by Lynn Hillary! Happy Christmas...
Glass shattering high note endings often sound contrived. However in the 1960s a young Joan Baez sang a single solo of We Shall Overcome in a concert in London concert hall. Just her and her Gibson guitar. A natural soprano with no formal training. She's a folk singer right. At the end she effortlessly slid an octave higher that made you gasp. First because it was unexpected. Second it was completely natural. Third it was the perfect antithetic ending to the song. It was the raised fist of freedom that amplified the song and not about the singer showing off for attention. Yes the song got a standing ovation and the singer bowed slightly and walked off stage.
Lisa kelly blows me away everytime when I hear her voice. "The Voice" is my favorite song
You are oh so right.
Her version of May It Be is phenomenal as well.
100%. I feel the same way about Hayley Westenra and Scarborough Fair.
Did you know chole has returned to the group
Same. And her new one with them dancing in the woods is really good too
This arrangement, with these original women, with the bagpipes has been my most favorite. Without formal training, but a lot of mentoring, i've been told my pitch, color and a not forced vibrato is wonderful. and i owe a lot of this from these vocalists.
The man who conducts the orchestra was the man who put the group together and he does their arrangements. I love everything they have done.
I live in a Celtic country and was lucky enough to have somebody sing this for us at our wedding. Each time I hear it I get shudders but this was a phenomenal arrangement. I do love Celtic Woman. Thank you for your reaction!
Is it just me, or does everyone get goose bumps every time you hear bag pipes play Amazing Grace?
Goosebumps and probably tears
It isn't just you. I get goosebumps when I hear the pipes. The pipes were played at my uncle's (DA) funeral. I told my other uncle (his brother) " I don't know how you kept it together. He told me, "I was ok until they started playing the pipes".

Except for that scene in Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. 😂 Sorry bad joke 😂
Thank you.
Truly love the channel. And truly love and appreciate showcasing the Celtic community as this “group” so wonderfully showcases such beauty
Almost one year later, I am still stunned by this performance!!!!
Thank you Beth

The band and the bagpipes and the wonderful ladies it sounds like God sent his heavenly angels down to perform this God bless you all

14 and she already sang like that? Wow that's amazing

14 when the group began around 2004-2005. This video recording was in 2009 from the Songs from the Heart concert.
@@yellowRose806 My mistake
nope ..she was 19 here in 2009 ....Chloe started with Celtic Woman in 2004 , when she was 14 .

I was very fortunate to experience Celtic woman in 2020… Chloe Agnew was performing with them…it was a bucket list for me.
This is the best lineup ever assembled of celtic woman
I agree. This concert was pure magic.
This sounds like an ancient hymn from out of mythology. I have been to four of their concerts here in the states over these many years. They are phenomenal.

One of the most moving rendition ever!
The bagpipe is by far one of my favorite instruments. I was crying right when the first one started playing... ❤️
The fact that they can even sync there verbrato together is amazing!! So much love 🖤🖤🖤
I saw them live about 8 years ago when they were touring around the US. Absolutely amazing performance.
I've always loved Celtic Woman and Lisa Kelly in particular. I just found out that she has her own voice school in Peachtree City, Georgia, USA!
So much work went into making this so gorgeous and sound so effortless.
Checkout "You Raise Me Up! sung beautifully and "O, America" a song written following the event the occurred on 9/11 - very moving. Love your analysis of Angelina Jordan and of this song. Need to do more of Angelina Jordan!

I have loved Celtic Woman for so many years. I got to see them live and it was so beautiful. I actually named my last puppy after Chloe Agnew
Been to one of their shows years back. Really great performance.
This is the best version out there by far. So stunning

Beautiful! My understanding is that many cultures claim the origin of the bagpipes but that Ethiopia is a fair contender.

Beautiful and angelic like you, beth.
David Downes is the musical genius behind the arrangement.
I love that you embrace your Celtic identity - I am a student of Celtic history and know just how enigmatic that is...
This Second girl- the blonde -- is Chloe Sullivan- and she was 17 when this was filmed... and Absolutley WONDERFUL-- as they ALL are..

Every time i hear this song with the bagpipes i cry on first note it makes me think about the fallen fire fighters
The bagpipes originated in Egypt around 400 BC
Although i'm listening to a lot of jazz/fusion, soul/funk/aor/west coast music in which there's basically no bagpipe but i do love the sound!
