These ladies are so often referred to as being angels when they sing. Truly, during this performance I thought that they deserve that and so much more.
Celtic Music is magical Thes women keep the magic even more , the irish accent gives a definite pleasure for the ears ! they have such such wonderfull voices !
Lisa Kelly has been my favorite Celtic Woman performer since it's inception. Chloe Agnew is a close second. There is just something magical about her voice, at least to me.
I love their voices, including Lisa Kelly's, whom I have always enjoyed her music. She actually owns "The Lisa Kelly Voice Academy" just down the road from me in Peachtree City GA. This was a wonderful reaction. I look forward to more of your music reviews!!
Love Celtic Woman. Here in the US, they show their performances on PBS television, and I always try to watch it. Maybe it's because of my roots that I love Celtic music so much. This song is mesmerizing and just draws you in, as does their rendition of "Danny Boy".
WOW! I get uplifted everytime I hear their angelic voices! I also really enjoy the snipets we get of yours, Beth. With so many voices put together, it reminds me of the time at an event at Arrowhead Stadium where I, as one of nearly 80,00 men, lifted our voices up while singing several songs. Very surreal. Still waiting for another of your tunes to hit Spotify...
I love Celtic Woman! I have all of their DVD/CD's and have seen them live8 times. They are all so special to me, even as solo artists. Thanks for reacting to one of their fan favorites.
I Love This Group. They are perfect at every execution. I saw them live in St Louis a few years ago. You should listen to their version of “America” for an American it will chill you to the bone. If I remember correctly, it was shot at the same location as this song. Great review Beth. (FYI Lucy and Martha Thomas) have a wonderful cover of this song “You Raise Me Up”. Having family roots from northern England from my father and Scottish/Irish from my mother. I just love this kind of music. Thank you Beth for this wonderful reaction.
They are incredible live, i have had the privilege of seeing them live twice when they were in the US on tour, long enough ago that it was the original group members from the first album release
We sing this song in church fairly often but as a baritone I really struggle reaching any of these high notes so I often take the low road. It can be challenging as a song leader to find a happy medium for our congregation. I would never select this song to sing myself but my minister often does and I accompany him singing it. Thank you Beth for reminding me about using lighter breath pressure to reach those higher notes.
Thank you! I've been waiting for a reaction to Celtic Woman forever. A comparison of sopranos in the same song helps us other sopranos! I'd love to hear your reaction to Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring from their first concert. Meav is one of my absolute favorite singers.

I really love Celtic Woman. The beauty in their music and performance is unmatched. My favorite is "Beyond the Sea" though. I still think it's the best one from CW I've ever heard. You should check that out. It's completely different from the original one in a very beautiful way.
Rolf Løvland was the writer of 2 of the 3 winning songs from Norway in Eurovision. He also performed w Secret garden, w Irish violinis, entry NOCTURNE in 1995, and the song forever changed Eurovision.
There is a male equivalent to Celtic Woman, Celtic Thunder which had a Scottish singer. It’ll be interesting to see you react to some of their performances.
1st Singer : Alex Sharpe, she is a Musical singer/ cross over singing. 2nd Singer : Chloe Agnew, she is a classical, cross over singing. 3rd Singer: Lisa Kelly, she is a Musical singer/ Classical and cross over singing. 4th Singer: Lynn Hilary. she is class singer with classical training I recommend watching Danny Boy. Their harmony is beyond perfect.
As a performer you know how location can be daunting at times. Shot at Slane Castle, County Meath with an occasional good breeze, and outside was a major challenge. I understand lots of precautions were taken to keep everybody safe, warm and healthy. I've done several outdoor arenas, most were good weather. One, however, I'd like to forget! ☔☔😳☔☔
Beth, this was an outstanding reaction and analysis of this inspiring song and wonderful Celtic Woman! These ladies are so heartwarming; the light of kindness absolutely emanates from their eyes and countenances (much like yours, by the way)! If you'd like to react to another mindblowing rendition of this song, you should pull up the video of a young prodigy from England named Lucy Thomas who sings an outstanding duet of "You Raise Me Up" with her younger sister Martha. They both have beautiful, mesmerizing voices. Thank you!
I watched some videos when I was a teenager with my cousin that now lives in USA, never thought I would be engaged to an Irish guy now . I really want to see them live in Ireland one day . I was thinking would be amazing for Christmas Eve 😅 I always enjoyed one concert where they have ice skating people , I always thought it could be wonderful too see it . ❤lots of memories with this ! 😊
The old folk tale says that the Irish and the Scots both set sail to invade but passed each other in the fog . Upon landing they were warmly greeted by single buxom wenches and decide there was no point in going back ? These ladies are the ultimate professionals . They each could have a solo carreer but together they are magic.
Celtic women proper is the 4 ladies and the violinist. That second group you saw briefly is technically a second group a choir. Celtic Woman the group is the main singers, the choir and the orchestra. The 4 main singers all had individual careers before joining the group.
In the description 2 names are wrong. In this concert there weren't Orla Fallon and Meav, but there were Alex Sharpe (the first singing) and Lynn Hilary (the last one singing the solo part)
Thank you so much Richard! I'm releasing an original album in October (so exciting!) and I'd really appreciate if you follow me on Spotify. It will help me get it out there when the times comes! open.spotify.com/artist/1W0He1MTuQoG0Yt2ccmhyL?si=xfUTFGxRQ9O1yNFZTNke4Q
There are several excellent incarnations of this ensemble, all with solid classical training, and this has been a CW showstopper almost from the outset, some 20 years ago now. This version is as good as any, and founding member Lisa Kelly (3rd singer) has never sounded better. Thanks for sharing Beth, and providing interesting notes on the song's provenance. I don't think Ireland has anything to do with it - the appeal is universal, but I do love their more traditional Irish material, with inspired arrangements by David Downes. I'm not aware of any direct connection with Riverdance.
Both Lisa and Lynn were actually in the Riverdance cast for the 2003 Special Olympics: ruclips.net/video/SeFtzfSu0nI/видео.html I know Michael Flatley had left by then, so it's not considered at the same "level" as the original Riverdance, but it's still a great performance.
Would love to hear you do a cover of this. Personally, I think you could fill in for any of these young ladies. You have the talent, personality, and beauty to match any of them. Bright blessings and be well.😊
Hi Beth. as always a very good reaction, analysis and commentary. Keep on with the good work ...... oh wow ... sweet old memories ..... that was an experience to be there in 2008. my favorite two singers at that time were Hayley Westenra (she's from Australia) and Lisa Kelly (Irish).
This is a beautiful version of this song and Celtic Woman is always amazing! I'm curious as to why this is the only version I've heard that has that second verse, most of the ones I've heard(including Josh Groban's version) just repeat the first verse.
I absolutely adore the 2nd verse, defo prefer this version if only because of that. Other than the 20th anniversary where the 1st four and last four celtic women performed live at dublin, ireland and awed everyone with this song
OF COURSE it's "Bbeautiful fiddle playing" ... that's Máiréad Nesbitt, who started in 1996 in Michael Flatley’s 'Lord of the Dance' tour (1996-97) and the greatly expanded 'Feet of Flames' tour in 1998-99, and has was one of the founding members of Celtic Woman in 2005 after a 'One-off' performance in 2004 gained such aclaim.
This is the second song you “reviewed” from this concert which is from 2012. When you talk about not having to “push” I immediately think of former CW member Megan Ruby Walsh who’s voice just seems to flow effortlessly
Beth- I’d love to hear you sing some Scottish trad tunes- I used to sing “ Ca’ The Yowes” a lot. You’d sing it beautifully! Words by Robert Burns. ❤❤❤❤❤
Beth, Love your reactions!! This is an amazing cover of Josh's song. Would love to see you react to Tommy Johansson's version of this too, he sings it an octave higher and has an insane falsetto!
Does anyone else find it amazing that someone can speak/talk normally and they will have a very thick accent, yet when they sing it's not even noticeable?
Hi, all right, I would love to see your reaction to Gabriel Henrique. He performed the Whitney Houston song Run to you on AGT and won the Golden Buzzer. I would love to see your analysis of Gabriel Henri❤❤❤😊
My sister was in a choir that performed with her a couple of years ago when she was part of the cast of Rocktopia! It was just a couple of nights thing, but still cool.
Technically, I think CW would be a "touring show," rather than a band (although they do have some consistent folks in the backing band, like I'm pretty sure Ray Fean has been around since the Norman conquest). The lead singers are more stable than a typical Broadway or West End production where people may only appear for a year or two, however.
I love your reactions and I've been watching them since you had 20-30k subs. I always wanted to ask, are you English or are you from other parts of the GB? I'm asking because you just mentioned different accents here, Irish, Scottish, English. I, as a person who does not speak English, have an idea about it: HOW SOMEONE SPEAKS SLOWLY, I UNDERSTAND A LITTLE. A little and slowly, slowly... But English reminds me of Monty Python (really English) and "Hooligans" (slang), "Full Monty" (simply English, mining area?). What is your English, because I don't understand classical English very well and I do, yes... I'll probably understand Australian (Julia N.) or Canadian (Ken L.) before I understand classical English. I do not mention poetry, William S. thx Google Translator, like always 😀
I prefer the opening vocal, a bit lower and more sultry/sensual. For me the second voice was although beautiful verging on falsetto in it's high pitch.

Hi Beth, you say you'd like to "hear where their accents sit". You'll hear them in the behind the scenes video ruclips.net/video/CnwbCCqmgKI/видео.html recorded in the lead-up to that wonderful Powerscourt concert.
By the way, you say in written intro that the concert is at Slane Castle but that's wrong. There was indeed a Celtic Woman concert at Slane Castle but the one in your current video was held at Powerscourt Co Wicklow, just south of Dublin.
These ladies are so often referred to as being angels when they sing. Truly, during this performance I thought that they deserve that and so much more.

Lisa Kelly has been my favorite Celtic Woman performer since it's inception. Chloe Agnew is a close second. There is just something magical about her voice, at least to me.
They are amazing to see live… saw them twice when they came to the states, their voices are that of angels
Yes! I have seen them live as well. I was mesmerized the entire performance!!
That was the name of one of their tours in 2017 called voices of angels
Lisa Kelly could sing the phone directory to me and calm any anxiety or hurt in my soul. Her voice is angelic in my opinion
I love their voices, including Lisa Kelly's, whom I have always enjoyed her music. She actually owns "The Lisa Kelly Voice Academy" just down the road from me in Peachtree City GA. This was a wonderful reaction. I look forward to more of your music reviews!!
David, the gentleman on the piano, was a genius when it came to finding the right group of women for this version of the group.
Love Celtic Woman. Here in the US, they show their performances on PBS television, and I always try to watch it. Maybe it's because of my roots that I love Celtic music so much. This song is mesmerizing and just draws you in, as does their rendition of "Danny Boy".

Lisa Kelly (3rd woman ;-) ) has her own voice-accademie in Peachtree City. Her and Chloe Agnew (2d woman) are two besties :)
I've been waiting for a long time for you to do Celtic Woman again, there are so many songs you could do with different ensembles ❤❤❤
love me some Celtic Woman! I wish you could react to the entire concert that this performance is from, it was so incredible.
right on!
Truly radiant they are for certain, they almost seem to float like as light as clouds in those kinds of dresses.
There has been one exception to the 'All Irish' line ups they've had and that is Hayley Westenra from New Zealand who does have Irish ancestry.
Yes, this is my favorite version also…and it makes me emotional, too.
I love Celtic Woman! I have all of their DVD/CD's and have seen them live8 times. They are all so special to me, even as solo artists. Thanks for reacting to one of their fan favorites.

Amazing song to begin with and the choir at the end and the fireworks really made it an over the top performance. Really nicely done.

@@BethRoars I'm following you there since Wicked Game. I can't wait to hear your album Beth!
I used to love Celtic Woman. I don't know which concert it was but the one when Haley Westerna came on, omg, just omg what a voice.
Thenks, Beth. I LOVE this group. And your analysis was educational and fascinating.

Celtic Thunder is a male Irish group, where Celtic Woman is a female Irish group.

Celtic Woman just had a 20-year reunion at the Helix in Dublin.

A US court in California decreed the song to Love and Graham.
In the description 2 names are wrong. In this concert there weren't Orla Fallon and Meav, but there were Alex Sharpe (the first singing) and Lynn Hilary (the last one singing the solo part)
The lyrics for this song are written by Brandon Graham an Irishman who has written many of the songs Celtic Woman sings
Thanks for doing this. Glad you liked them!

Pure heaven. Absolutely love this group....any song, any singer. For some reason I'm thinking of Beaches...Wings beneath my feet...Bette Midler?
Interesting what you said about the origin of this song… I had been under the impression that this was written by Brendan Graham.

Great reaction. Love Celtic Woman. Recommend "The Voice" which is performed by the third singer, Lisa Kelly" and the violinist.
I believe the lyrics were written by Irish lyricist Brendan Graham.
Beth freaking Roars!
Just wanted to add that Irish ☘️ composer and author Brendan Graham is responsible for the lyrics of this great song.❤
Awesome. Enjoyed your observations and evaluations!
I miss the original Celtic Woman. Lisa Kelly will always be my favorite. Her voice is incredible.
Would love to hear you do a cover of this. Personally, I think you could fill in for any of these young ladies. You have the talent, personality, and beauty to match any of them. Bright blessings and be well.😊
You are very kind
Just an older Wizard that sees people with special abilities and energy. Be well.
they also did, im counting on you with chris de burgh and is fantastic
Hi Beth. as always a very good reaction, analysis and commentary. Keep on with the good work ...... oh wow ... sweet old memories ..... that was an experience to be there in 2008. my favorite two singers at that time were Hayley Westenra (she's from Australia) and Lisa Kelly (Irish).
Hayley is actually from New Zealand-- she does some Maori songs on some of her albums.
Beth, you could be a Celtic Woman, you sing like an angel too!
Beth would fit in nicely!
This is a beautiful version of this song and Celtic Woman is always amazing! I'm curious as to why this is the only version I've heard that has that second verse, most of the ones I've heard(including Josh Groban's version) just repeat the first verse.

Beth I notice a lot of Metal Band especially Metal Bands from Europe have Celtic Vocal and Instrumental influence.
Tú cultura céltica no cabe duda que La llevas en la sangre al igual que su belleza bien Beth 👏👏🍀🍀
ojos hermosos estuviste increíble en tu reacción 🌹

The Tommy Johansson version eclipses everybody elses version from the past and the future 😉
Rolf Løvland wrote this song.. and he last time I check from Norway! With a smal history with the our nabours in the ..tiny british islands :)
you gotta check out tommy johansson you raise me up in metal version ( sabaton , majestica )
Beautiful voices!!! Please react to Gabriel Henrique who won golden buzzer at Amerca`s Got Talent. Kisses from Brszil!!!
Beth, Love your reactions!! This is an amazing cover of Josh's song. Would love to see you react to Tommy Johansson's version of this too, he sings it an octave higher and has an insane falsetto!
I would love to hear Beth cover Celtic Thunder, back when they had 5 vocalists especially.
I got the chance to meet Máiréad Nesbitt, the violinist.
My sister was in a choir that performed with her a couple of years ago when she was part of the cast of Rocktopia! It was just a couple of nights thing, but still cool.
The Norwegian and the Icelander can fight all they want about the music but the lyrics were entirely written by Irishman, Brendan Graham. 😃
I would love you too reaction to "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - The Danish National Symphony Orchestra".
I got very used to the original Josh Groban version but these ladies sound awesome doing it!
The woman playing the violin. I think she can sing as well
For me the definitive version is that of the band that composed and performed it first - Secret Garden
These women aren't angels, they are FAE.
Lucy and Martha Thomas cover this song divinely too.👍🌹❤️
Technically, I think CW would be a "touring show," rather than a band (although they do have some consistent folks in the backing band, like I'm pretty sure Ray Fean has been around since the Norman conquest).
I was hoping to see Hayley Westenra :(
Before I die, I want to hear Celtic Woman. In Ireland. At Slane Castle.
I prefer the opening vocal, a bit lower and more sultry/sensual. For me the second voice was although beautiful verging on falsetto in it's high pitch.
They can make me cry (weep) when 99% of bad stuff in my life does not.
ruclips.net/video/oq9tphh6Apw/видео.html&ab_channel=sigmar65
I think if it was some other song about something else it wouldn't have bothered to many people.
And personally i don't think it's the "same song" but the falls and rises of it and the feel of it has really the same connection so yeah, it does feel like a more expensive ripoff in a way.
But the lyric side is where this song shines in Icelandic, talking about memory loss of a/the close one in a retrospective way, dealing with loss and memory of the lost one with in you existence.
I adore this band ❤ i wonder what your thoughts are on some welsh folk songs are.
THX ,Maybe try their interpretation of "like an angel passing through my room" by abba.
Check out Lucy and Martha Thomas sing this song together.
Did you listen to the Lucy Thomas version? You'll love it!
Beautiful song❤ Please react to Gabriel Henrique's performance on America's Got Talent. He's amazing!!
muito bom !!!
Would you please be so kind and react to a Marillion song 🙏. This band has yet to be discovered by the voice coaches, so will you be the first?
Their singer is awesome and lives every word he sings especially live!
The song 'Power' (live) is a great start. 👊🏻👍🏻
I always felt like this was their strongest lineup. I've been far less impressed with them lately.
Please react to Anabel Sweeney, fields of gold ( Celtic woman ). She has a voice of a angel
Do you mean Rolf Løvland from secret garden?! 😭
I picture the icelandic version as having 4 shieldmaidens with blonde pigtails and helmets and huge cleavages belting out a Viking version lol.
Waiting for the Oliver Anthony - Rich Men North of Richmond reaction....
please react to the band Angra, it's a Brazilian metal band but it sings in English and it's awsome
Can you do a reaction video about Emma Kok and André Rieu? I am curious about your reaction.
I like you to react to Anthem by Tommy Körberg, from the musical Chess.
✨❤️✨
