    You're not just forging knives my man, you are forging goals. I can't afford one of those cleavers...yet. Beautiful work, both the blade and the video, camera quality looks almost as good as the knives. The photogenic blacksmith probably helps with that.

    I've wondered about using my Evenheat to do copper damascus, so thanks for demonstrating it works, and thanks for sharing the temperature you used. I've also never used my rolling mill to set welds, and I think I'll try that on my next billet. Thank you for sharing!

    • @MartinHuber_Knives
      @MartinHuber_Knives  7 месяцев назад

      Actually, i'd rather set the weld again with the powerhammer.
      it worked with the mill but i'd rather do it again with my hammer.
      And sure thing, i like to show our process, got nothing to hide :)

    Geatulation zu diesem schönen cleaver! 🔥 🔥 😊👍🏾
    Der Steckerl sieht für mich persönlich etwas dünn und Kurz aus für einen Cleaver mit 210mm Klingenlänge und 75mm Höhe. Da kann schon ein ordentlicher Hebel entstehen (täuscht eventuell aber auch durch die Kameraperspektive ) Grüße Colin - Messerschmuck Ps: top Qualität der Kamera 😉

      75mm lang, 4mm dick - das ist ausreichend für so ne leichte klinge.
      Bzw. wird ja nicht massivste belastung drauf gebracht bei nem Gemüsemesser 😄
      danke!

    Eyyy man that is so sick! One question: do you used any flux on the first welding?

  • @jeanladoire4141
    @jeanladoire4141 Месяц назад

    Hello Martin, fantastic work ! Aren't you worried about oxygen in the heat treating oven ? Oxidation and carbon loss can lead to failure for such projects i guess ?

    • @MartinHuber_Knives
      @MartinHuber_Knives  Месяц назад

      if you worrie about carbon loss in the heattreating oven you wouldnt be allowed to forge it at all.
      As soon as you get it out of the gasforge as example it will be at oxygen-air anyways :D
      And yeah oxidation and carbon loss is a real thing, thats called scale :) Scale pops of as on any forging process.
      As said - if this would be a problem or a "Extreme carbon loss failure" you wouldnt be allowed to forge or heat any steel ever :D

  • @kamon_knives
    @kamon_knives 7 месяцев назад

    I hate that Kamon guy at least as much as you do. Question though: why does the bottom die of your power hammer move so much? 🐒

    • @MartinHuber_Knives
      @MartinHuber_Knives  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah hes a weirdo. but i kinda love him aswell...
      BECAUSE this powerhammer series was delivered without an anvil or base. These where special builds for Argrarculture tool forging. They always had custom made anvils. This hammer was used in a scythe-forging company for preforming the billet. Thats for example why the RPM on those is a little faster than usual.
      AND our anvil is...well....custom made by my Grandpa about 20-25 years ago with "What we had"
      Even if its moving, it still works great :D

    • @kamon_knives
      @kamon_knives 7 месяцев назад

      @@MartinHuber_Knives I knew all that. Of course.
      But there were times where it didn't move as much 🙂. I think you should fix it 🙂. Really 🙂🙂🙂.
