  • Untold Wealth: The Rise Of The Super Rich Documentary. Untold Wealth Of The One Percent.
In the upper reaches of American society there is an explosion in personal wealth like never before. There has always been extraordinary affluence in the United States, but today that wealth has soared to staggering heights, creating a new and growing class of Americans dubbed the Super Rich. In 1985, there were only 13 billionaires in the U.S.; today there are more than 1,000. Together with hundreds of thousands of newly minted multi-millionaires, they live virtually untouched by a recession that has a crushing impact on many Americans, indulging a parallel world of luxury where multiple homes, personal staffs and countless possessions grow along with their outsized fortunes. This creation of unprecedented wealth has brought us to a moment in American history that has been described as the "New Gilded Age."
The documentary examines the soaring levels of affluence in rarefied places in the United States, with unusual access to several extraordinarily wealthy people who allow cameras into their homes and talk openly about the blessings - and burdens - their fortunes bring. Bill Gross, billionaire founder of the investment firm PIMCO, admonishes his wealthy peers, accusing many of them of reckless, indulgent spending and a need to "keep score."
Nowhere is this wealth being created more quickly, more dramatically and more controversially than on Wall Street, where the advent of the hedge fund has turned even mediocre performers into millionaires and brought star talent even greater riches. Faber interviews 43-year-old Anthony Scaramucci, a hedge fund executive worth over 80 million dollars who, like many of his colleagues, came from modest beginnings and grapples with his newfound wealth, mindful of the way he is seen by others. Glenn Stearns, a 44 year-old CEO who owns several houses around the world, struggles to keep his children grounded and wrestles with deciding how much to leave to them, and how much to give to philanthropy.
Faber also addresses the effects of all of this money on the rest of us, and the downward pressure created by this new wealth on those who aren't super rich, but merely rich; collectively, they are known as "middleclass millionaires." Laurel Touby sold her website Mediabistro.com for 23 million dollars in 2007. Left with ten million dollars after taxes, she tells Faber of her surprise in finding that it wasn't enough to buy the apartment of her dreams or dramatically alter her lifestyle.

1ST guy in this show, Tim Durham, was convicted of securities fraud. From Wikopedia "In 2012, Durham was sentenced to 50 years in prison in connection with a Ponzi scheme that defrauded 5,400 investors, many of them elderly, of approximately $216 million, according to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.[3] "

Well said. Even in the bible you see certain men God made wealthy. They knew how to lead & they used their wealth to bless their loved ones yes BUT to help others as well. Most can't deal with wealth...they become haughty, greed overcomes them & they develop the root of all evil i.e "the LOVE of money"...it becomes their idol

The offices of Obsidian and Fair Finance were raided by federal agents in 2009, suspected of involvement in a Ponzi scheme. Durham was arrested in 2011.[7]
On June 20, 2012; an Indianapolis jury convicted Durham of 10 counts of wire fraud, one count of securities fraud, and one count of conspiracy to defraud. On November 30, 2012; he was sentenced to 50 years in prison-at his age, effectively a life sentence.[8] While he faced a maximum of 225 years under sentencing guidelines, federal district judge Jane Magnus-Stinson said there was no point in handing down a sentence that long.[9] Nonetheless, Joe Hogsett, the U. S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana, called it the longest sentence ever imposed for a white-collar offense in Indiana history.[8]
On September 4, 2014, a federal appeals court overturned two of 10 wire fraud counts against Durham and ordered a new sentencing hearing, saying prosecutors failed to enter some key evidence into the trial record.[10] On June 26, 2015, Durham had his 50-year sentence reinstated. Magnus-Stinson said that "the huge number of victims and the amount of devastation" left little reason to reduce the original sentence. He is serving his sentence at United States Penitentiary, McCreary in McCreary County, Kentucky;[11] He was also sentenced to two years' supervised release, but this was largely academic given the likelihood that he will die in prison. His earliest possible release will be February 1, 2056-when he will be 94 years old.

The problem is when you become so rich that you can afford to buy lawmakers and politicians creating a system that is by design highly corrupt and immoral ,yet still within the law .
And politicians nowadays can be bought so cheaply . The guy isLaws created to favour the rich and throwing the working class into a cycle of desperation and poverty that is nearly impossible to overcome legally . That’s happening at an alarming rate with stagnant wages and hurdles and blocks along our path to personal prosperity is prohibitively difficult for the poor while the ultra rich can buy just about anything on their way to hyper rich , and that is immoral and unfair it also comes at a great cost for society in general . Criminality on the lower levels is a product of that unjust distribution of wealth .

    • @timward3116

Of course, if you make your money from killing people within legal parameters, you make as you can and want as well. Laws can be bought and politicians bribed. Who has the right to decide? That's the question of a philosophical imbecile, an addict, or a sociopath.

A Russian woman landed in her private jet with her baby in Monaco. She realized she had left the baby's listening device back in Russia and asked an assistant who " gets" things for the rich, to please get her the listening device. That assistant said no problem I will go and get you a new one right away. The Russian woman said no, no I want the one I left back at my home in Russia. The assistant had to get on a plane and fly to Russia to pick up the baby's listening device and bring it back to Monaco.

"Those who Will Not Learn from History are Doomed to Repeat it..!!" attributed to Plato.. With the growing disparity between the impoverished
Lower classes and the Ostentatious Opulence of the Super Rich in America, I cannot help but think of the similarity between the of the Opulent lifestyles of the Aristocracy in France in 1789, or that of the Russian Nobility in 1917 and those of the impoverished peasant classes.. In Both cases it ended in bloody revolution.. America... The Revolution is coming...!!

they are evil not to leave something for their children. he has 5-6 kids that will be forced to compete with the middle class when ready to look for a job, that aint right. why not build something where these kids can work and employ others. charity aint employing others from the middle class. years of using your children for tax breaks and then you leave them to put in an application at the local corporation, just shows how much the super rich really thinks about the poor.

You say you dont owe anyone anything but yet want people who are rich to give their own money to you? That doesnt make anysense. People who are rich are not here to solve your own financial problems, you are responsible for yourself, so stop encouraging homeless people to be lazy, and encourage them to go find jovs and careers thats waiting for them, but no you dont support that.
