It's funny and crazy how detached some ultra-wealthy people are, to the degree that they think switching to electric yachts is all what they need to make people think positively of them.
They’re thinking about business trends - not what you and I think of them. I’d live like this in a heartbeat if I had the means. Obviously, some of them do shady stuff but could you imagine the positive you could do with their kind of money. It would be incredible.
Also, the idea of solar-powered yachts is really cool. It’s much better than electric vehicles considering what it takes to mine what is needed for the batteries.

I would say they know how poor the majority of the earth’s population is, however they honestly don’t much care. As they mingle with other wealthy folk while visiting only the most exclusive locations on earth, they manage to avoid the ugly realities that plague the billions of earths poor. By keeping such poverty out of sight, it will stay out of mind.
I would think the electric yacht lost much of its lustre by missing the Dubai yacht show despite starting out two months early. It proves an all electric yacht will eventually have a viable future, just not with today’s eco technology.
