      You obviously have no clue what you're talking about. After seeing this you assumed everywhere (you don't like how things are done) , is the same. Watch this again, despite it being seriously dated and oversimplified for western audiences. There were never conditions and rules in Canada as there were in the post-Soviet '90s mafia system. And now their successors along with useful idiot western informational terrorists have brainwashed contrarian opposition to democracy and tankies will defend it until it costs them their livelyhood. If you want a change in Canada, get people to rally and vote out or express organise a referendum on things you want to change. There are systems for that in every democratic country, however slow and cumbersome. If people agree with you, it can be done, contrary to Russia and other fascist autocracies.

    The Roman Stoic Epictetus also saw the dangerous moral consequences of greed, and so advised the greedy to instead take pride in letting go of the desire for wealth, rather than be like the man with a fever who cannot drink his fill:
    Nay, what a price the rich themselves, and those who hold office, and who live with beautiful wives, would give to despise wealth and office and the very women whom they love and win!
    Do you not know what the thirst of a man in a fever is like, how different from the thirst of a man in health?
    The healthy man drinks and his thirst is gone: the other is delighted for a moment and then grows giddy, the water turns to gall, and he vomits and has colic, and is more exceeding thirsty.
    Such is the condition of the man who is haunted by desire in wealth or in office, and in wedlock with a lovely woman: jealousy clings to him, fear of loss, shameful words, shameful thoughts, unseemly deeds.

    US Billionaires: Businessmen
    Russian Billionaires: Oligarchs

    • @denisgut
      @denisgut 9 месяцев назад +7

      Because US billionaires (or their ancestors/family members) worked hard to achieve such a high level of wealth, while in Russia they just bought "vouchers" for privatisation of state facilities from people to whom these vouchers were distributed, but these people were so poor (and they didn't know how to handle these vouchers) that they decided to sell their vouchers to such "tricky" people for pennies on the dollar, and that's how the oligarchs became so powerful and rich. By the way, this system of privatisation was introduced and recommended to Russia by "Western partners", mainly the USA.

    Was Napoleon the 19th century's Putin? He was ''Europe's problem'' in his day just as Putin is today! No?
    Centralization of Power: Both Napoleon and Putin are known for their efforts to centralize power in their own hands. Napoleon crowned himself Emperor of the French in 1804, establishing a strong centralized authority. Similarly, Putin has been criticized for centralizing power in Russia, weakening democratic institutions, and consolidating authority in the hands of the presidency.
    Assertive Foreign Policy: Both leaders pursued assertive foreign policies aimed at expanding their influence and protecting their respective nations' interests. Napoleon engaged in numerous military campaigns across Europe, seeking to establish French hegemony. Similarly, Putin has pursued a foreign policy characterized by assertiveness, including interventions in neighboring countries such as Ukraine and Georgia, as well as involvement in conflicts in Syria and elsewhere.
    Nationalism and Patriotism: Both Napoleon and Putin have appealed to nationalism and patriotism as means of legitimizing their rule and rallying public support. Napoleon often portrayed himself as a defender of French interests and ideals, while Putin has emphasized Russian nationalism and the need to restore Russia's status as a great power.
    Authoritarian Tendencies: While Napoleon came to power during the French Revolution, which brought about certain democratic reforms, his rule eventually became more authoritarian as he consolidated power. Similarly, Putin's rule has been characterized by a degree of authoritarianism, with restrictions on political opposition, media freedom, and civil liberties.
    Cult of Personality: Both leaders have cultivated a strong cult of personality around themselves, portraying themselves as strong and decisive leaders. Napoleon's image was carefully crafted through propaganda and symbolism, while Putin has been portrayed in the media as a strong and decisive leader, often engaging in activities that showcase his physical prowess and leadership qualities.
