Hi there… No, there is no direct bus from Bangkok to Singapore. However, there are services departing from Bangkok Mochit Bus Terminal and arriving at Queen Street Bus Terminal via Hat Yai and Woodlands Checkpoint Out. The journey, including transfers, takes approximately 28h 47m.

One more question : is there any power socket to connect my phone cable charger on board the Padang Besar to Bangkok train? Thank you in advance.

Hey there, there isn’t power sockets at every seat in this older train, there is in the newer ones … each car has a few sockets, I believe Berth 18 has the sockets if you book…. We had portable battery packs with us so I didn’t really need it… I am sure the Thai railway staff would accomodate you as I think they are wonderful and very well organised.

Hey sorry I never check my comments … at the time I obtained a Visa at the border of Pedang Besar tourist visa for aortic $25 USD. Fare was bus 120RMB to Kuala Lumpur then train to Pedang Besar 76 RMB, then Pedang Besar to Bangkok was 870 Baht.

Nice video. Regarding the Padang Besar to Bangkok train:
    1. is there space to safely stow your bags, or do you just place them next to you on the seat/bed?
    2. What is the toilet condition like - clean with soap and running water?
    3. Are meals provided onboard at your seat, or do you have to walk to the cafe coach?
Thank you much in advance! 🙏

Hi Glenn, there is not much room underneath the seats but it would stow a backpack or carry on case easily. Once the lower bunk is made up the bags can go under there if not too high. We had backpacks and I was happy with it in the corner of my bunk as it didn’t impede me as they are quite generous. Really large suitcases could be a problem. Toilets were fine, as it is a second class older train they were not new, but I feel clean enough and we took our own soap etc in a ziplock bag. It may have changed since then with all things being more sanitized but we always travel with wash cloths, soap etc. you can order meals to have at your seat or go to the open air dining car, whichever you prefer… we enjoyed rocketing along with the fresh air in the dining car but please check this is still running as again, things may have changed slightly since pandemic. Happy travels !
