Touring Turkey is cheaper than most of the countries and the facilities are simply awesome. I personally feel myself at home always. Once again, a commendable effort by Team Bery Istanbul Tips.👏👏👏

I returned from IS yesterday, second visit. The snow was unremembered, but it didn’t spoil the visit as the weather changed sun-snow every 10 mins. Thanks Bery for all the advice. I can't wait for my third visit, even though I'm 23 000 steps(16 km) / day x 4 days (with public transport) ... it was worth this foot pain hahaha. It is recommended to go with as empty suitcases as possible, because there is always a lack of places in suitcases in Istanbul.

Hi Bery! Thank you so much for providing all this great information in your videos - they've been a great help planning my trip to Istanbul in two weeks time! Just wondering if you would consider an "Affordable Luxury" or 'Generous Budget' daily guide? I have already booked one of the sunset river cruises you recommended in your previous video - but I'm curious if there are any memorable restaurants, rooftop bars or other experiences such as the yacht cruise which would be particularly affordable by Western European standards? Especially nowadays considering the currency situation. Thank you again! :)

This year (july) 2023 it w
as expensive almost everything in Istanbul. Family room 2 adults and 2 children 180€/night, Taksim. The cheapest is still local transportation 9,90 TL. Ferry 10 TL. Tickets for tourist are 3 times more. For Galata tower we had to show passorts for kids. Tickets are way more expensive. Taxi driver wanted only euros not liras. They changed a lot.

Is it possible to meet a local guide or friendly escort for a stay...not to be with all the time but someone who will act as a social guide? Someone who knows all the travel needs and is familiar with getting around at a modest pace for side street excursions to bazaars, markets, artisanal shops and stalls etc. As an older person who loves to travel I feel I no longer want to waste time but cannot scoot about as I used to. A friendly local would be invaluable.

Actually we are working on that! Next year around September we’re going to be able to give tours. My husband is about to become an official and licensed guide not just in Istanbul but also in the Mediterranean, Aegean and Cappadocia regions. First we need to finish all the procedure which we have been working on for the past year and a half so that we can do everything legally and without a problem, but yeah! The next step is precisely that! Next year new amazing things are coming 🎉🎉🎉
By the time you come, if we have already finished with everything and we can finally provide tours, it would be our pleasure to host you and show you around!

Sorry mates. But ive just come back from istanbul with my family .. one thing i have to say is that it is damn expensive. They compare every single.thing in € now.. if i wanted to pay in euros..or wanted items to be reflecting same as euros.. i would go France, spain for holiday .. i went to turkey to do everything reflection of lira not euro.. stupid high price for food which works out more than UK food price.. example... a meat sandwich costs around from sultanahmet around 140 lira thats equivalent of £6.57 ..only cheap food there's subway, mcdonalds, burger king. Authentic turkish food is stupidly high and they will drag you in and put on service charge.. also taxis are the biggest scammers in turkey ..always make sure you haggle before and do not pay in high denomination or you ain't getting change back. Country itself is amazing ..i went to antalya and istanbul .. loved antalya
. But again taxi price far too much.. istanbul taxi cheap according to meter.. but they will never take you according to meter only will state you price for your location .. turkey is now wanting to be second uk, or france,or spain according to the pricing of items. I know cost of living has gone up , but come on 7 quid for a sandwich . Get outta here. All items are stupidly priced now.. only thing cheap is bottle of water (su). People are nice.. places are nice..but this new facade of placating to price everything in EURO or dollar is stupid . You are turkey ..stay as turkey ..we love turkey.. but didnt like the whole new method of being more expensive than. Uk or france

I do agree with you in everything you have said, and trust me, even for us as residents is more and more expensive eating out (and I’m talking of local areas), before we could eat two people for 200 TL at a nice place, now is no less than 500 TL, and eating out in the touristy areas is even 3 times more expensive. I hope things change one day but all of the prices is due to the high inflation the country is going through.
