    I was in Antalya for 2 weeks in October getting part 1 of my teeth done, the amount of money I thought would last 1 week actually lasted 2 weeks with leftovers, I could not get over how cheap everything was, I was dining out ALL the time, getting gifts, staying in 4 star hotels very mid to high budget and could not get rid of my money no matter how hard I tried lol. I will be going back for part 2 around April and then I will be going via Istanbul and plan to stay 4-5 days there before travelling onwards to Antalya. I know hyper inflation has hit the world due to the scamdemic but still it's an incredibly cheap, safe country where I felt very relaxed. Although I did not test it, it was the kind of place I could leave my phone on the table and go to the bathroom and be guaranteed it would remain untouched. It was great to be in a country that has not turned secular, that has God in their lives and the people have strong moral compasses, once all this bullshit is over I will seriously be looking into possibly buying a property out there, I was blown away by how much I loved the place and the people. Thank you for all your videos, I have watched them all and this one in particular is great for me as mid budget is exactly my ball park. God bless

    I just came back from my trip to Turkey, even though the lira dropped dramatically, I didn't feel that my dollar went as far as I projected. First , prices increased as people there are trying to survive, also harder to haggle for better prices. For me , the only very affordable was the cost of food and hotel. I did get dental work and got 2 implants ( German) , I paid $1500 , I will return in 6- 8 months to get the crowns , possibly veneers, not sure yet ....Overall I love Turkey and its culture.

    OMG! LOVE THIS VIDEO! We are making a video about this as well and hope that we do Istanbul justice as you are the expert! We stayed in Taksim Square for 1 week and actually really enjoyed it because it was literally a 2 minute walk to Istiklal Street! We did both hotel and Airbnb experiences as well so there is so much to share! Our video will also start with Turkish Breakfast too! I love your Breakfast into Dinner because the food is always so filling and we couldn't get 3 meals a day! HAHA. TAVUK SIS is our favorite!!! Thanks so much for this video. We loved how you put this all together! Can't do the TAXIS! They are truly impossible. Just take Public Transportation. SO reliable! We could barely even get UBER. Our video will be. How we spent $50 a DAY!!!! Can't wait to see more and so sad we missed you!

      Can’t wait to see the video! I’m sure it will have lots of valuable information, is always good to see others’ experiences too!
      Even for us is getting harder finding taxis when we need them, the city is suffering from high demand and a shortage of taxis but gov is trying to fix that, hopefully soon! The few times we have needed a taxi, we even had to wait for an hr to find one, and I’m in a very local area of the city, I cannot imagine in the main touristy area, impossible 😑
      Tavuk sis is great! Grilled chicken has a really good taste, all Turkish food is good, I’m a big big foodie and in Turkey I feel like in a foodie paradise 😅😅
      Next time you make it here let’s catch up!

    Hi Beri, I like your channel, only useful information!!! Next year in May we plan a trip to Istanbul with family and friends. We booked the hotel in advance and I'm really looking forward to it! But, I read complaints from some guests who had booked accommodation at a good price in advance, that the hotel had raised the price of accommodation more than twice at the last minute and did not accommodate them at that previously agreed price. Don't have any information on whether this is a common problem or just an exception?

    • @BeryIstanbulTips
      @BeryIstanbulTips  2 года назад

      Maybe you can check crossing via Trabzon, from there you can find more direct transportation to Batumi for example. You can either take a direct bus from Trabzon to Batumi or from Trabzon, take a mini bus to Hopa and then from Hopa a bus to the border, cross by foot, and then take another bus to Batumi, all depends on the buses’ schedules.

    Hola ví un vídeo de una pareja que llegaron a un hotel reservado por Expedia y les dijeron que la habitación estaba inundada y no habían más habitaciones libres, pero que los podían acomodar en otro hotel. Y el otro hotel era mucho más económico.
    Sabes cómo evitar este tipo de estafa?
    Gracias

      Hi Greg! You can send me an email to beryistanbultips@gmail.com, we have a good friend of ours who is a certified tourist guide in Istanbul, you can share all the details by email : how many people, exact dates so that I can send her that to check her availability and if she says yes, I can give you her contact 🙏

    Thank you for the lovely tips.. This seems like it's for a short trip. What does a budget look like for a month? I'm planning on staying in Istanbul for about 3 months.. I noticed that the monthly rent on Airbnb is very affordable.

      This is not for a short trip, we did it showing what can you spend on a day approx, that way you can add it according to the days you are going to stay.

      @@BeryIstanbulTips Okay I see thank you.. I guess in that case, it would make sense to stay in an Airbnb for longer period because staying in a hotel for more than a month would be very expensive.

      @BeryIstanbulTips  2 года назад +1

      Even for us is difficult finding taxis from streets or apps, government has been trying to put more in service to cover the high demand of taxis in the city.

      @@BeryIstanbulTips the option that worked sometimes was flagging down a taxi and negotiating rates that we felt was reasonable. Other than that, trams were an excellent mode.

    • @BeryIstanbulTips
      @BeryIstanbulTips  10 месяцев назад

      The reason is simple: the exchange rate 😂
      Check the video’s date, the rate obviously is not the same as in December 2023…
      This video was shared on Dec. 11th, 2021, that means, 2 years ago when the usd was around 13 TL. Today’s rate is around 29TL per usd.
