The part when you talk about people destroying the gardens was so sad that I almost cried for some reasons. I HATE that. I don't understand it and I completely hate it when they do!
And the worst thing is that when somebody tells them not to step inside some feel so entitled that they start fighting back, we saw a few clips on the tv news back in that month, a reporter chasing those annoying visitors destroying the gardens for photos and they were also threatening her 😡 Awful behavior!
I've lived in İstanbul for almost 5 months now and I couldn't agree more with you. And yes, I did few of things you mentioned when I first arrived here in İstanbul like the one I remember clearly is the exchanging money at the airport 😭 I still regret that up until now... but alhamdulillah after that, I learned my lessons! 🤣 Always love your videos!
Hi, where would it be best to exchange money beside the airport? Would you exchange it in your own country before travelling? And then exchange more money if needed at a specific exchange shop? Any tips would be appreciated :)
I have been to Istanbul many times and I agree to your points. Also every time I hammer into people‘s minds to NOT EXCHANGE MONEY AT THE AIRPORT and they do it anyway - they are shocked when they see the difference in rates to what you get in the city. You can pay for a taxi or shuttle bus into town by credit card and then exchange money there. Also the crowds are real - I have been to Istanbul in 2020 and 2021 when it was possible to fly there and the way tourism has picked up again from these quiet times is astonishing. I‘m glad I went to Galata Tower last year (for the first time in 25 years) when barely anybody else was there. Also, Hagia Sofia is just as much a circus as the Blue Mosque now, everybody is just there to take selfies. If you really want to experience a mosque for the architecture and atmosphere, there are 3000 other ones you can go to in peace.
They do not realize it because they believe it is convenient doing it at the airport but once they see the huge difference they regret 😂 Yes, going to Hagia Sophia is not the same as before anymore, is impossible walking there now, I love the place but I avoid going there as much as I can, the other day I went there I even felt suffocated 😩 Süleymaniye is one of the most beautiful mosques, and also I’d add to your great suggestions Sokollu Mehmet Pasa Mosque, is just a couple of minutes away from Sofia but its interior is one of the most exquisite ones! 😍
Card in taxi? Where? You should not take a taxi anyway. I also got fooled changing in the airport but in the last trip i withdrew from the ATM in the airport and the fee was 10%, which was ok, the best fee i could find in the city was 5% and later they increased to 7.
Thanks for the content, I’m travelling to Istanbul in a few months. Quick feedback - could be useful to include time stamps to help user navigation through the video. Thanks!
Laying in my hotel room in Istanbul watching this lol. Beautiful city and great country. We visited Selçuk and Istanbul. My advice is to not try to do too much in too little time. You'll wear yourself out. Definitely deserves another visit. Unfortunately we leave Saturday 😔
Wise advice! Indeed one shouldn’t over plan, is better going a slower, explore properly the cities we intent to visit, then people can plan another trip to visit new places, I hope you’re enjoying Istanbul! What have you liked the most so far?
So far it's the Turkish people! As far as sites, I'm taking a rest in the courtyard of Topkapi palace. The palace is so far the best historical site of my trip 👍🏽
As an American I think Americans speak too loudly at certain times. People get mad at me for speaking in a slightly lower voice, but sometimes it is just distracting in a public place when some people are having such loud conversations that you cannot even hear other people talk. I am living in Istanbul. Istanbul is a beautiful and amazing city, full of love, delicious food, beautiful nature, many places to see, and a very beautiful culture
Great information, thank you 😊 the only other thing I would like to be added is to tell people that there is a lot of Russian speaking people in Turkey and if you speak Russian (and not English) in markets then the price will be cheaper! I’m from England but not English (I speak Russian) and the first time I visited Turkey I didn’t know about this but have learnt since. If you know Russian language, use it - you will get the cheaper menu at restaurants & cheaper prices in markets! Don’t speak English if you know Russian 😀 in Antalya, for example, lots & lots of people, even Turks, speak or understand Russian ❤ you’ll get a better treatment ❤️
I've been to turkey last month and visited both istanbul and izmir, and i fell in love with the country. Beautiful scenery, been to many historical sites, and wandred arround the city in istanbul. Howevern I noticed that istanbul is very busy with people, i wanted to hold conversations with the locals, but most seem very careless, and all you would hear them say to you is the word pardon, which i easily figured that it meant excuse me. Izmir on the other hand had a very different atmosphere, the people are friendly and respectful, and have a sense of humor. I also feel so bad for the loses and the damage that the country went through due to the earthquakes. May god bless the people of turkey and protect them.
Tell me about getting around your airport mainly departures- tell me about the cruise ship port- Tell me about the street food and soft drinks along with prices-This is our first time so please be broad in your replies

Thank you for advice
very helpful, enjoyable , informative and interesting. I will return for more
Glad you enjoyed it!
THANKS.PLEASE KEEP GOING.EVERY NEXT YOUR VIDEO BETTER AND BETTER!
Thank you! More videos are coming soon 🎉🎉🎉
@@BeryIstanbulTips I will be wait impatiently!😀
Great video as usual! Tons of really useful, smart and absolutely MUST TO KNOW info for any tourist, who is traveling to Istanbul. THANKS A BUNCH!!!👍
Thank you very much and greetings from Turkey♡
