The first Megadeth song I ever heard. Been a fan ever since.
HaHa Me too. I think I had heard them before but never payed attention until this one. I recorded it on the vcr and watched it a million times. After this when Rust In Peace came out it was over I was a fan for life. This Alice Cooper song holds a special place for me though because it's what started it all for Megadeth for me.

I was like 14 when I saw them live in Sydney in 91 and the crowd was screaming No more Mr Nice Guy trying to get them to play this, I doubt he ever played it live.
Shocker is one of Wes Craven's best.
The song is Alice Cooper's who is also Dave's Godfather, Alice and Benny "The Jet" Urquidez saved Dave's life, Benny taught Dave Martial Arts... FYI. And yes they were the best band I have ever seen live.

When I was a kid, I straight up thought Horace Pinker was played by Phil Anselmo in Shocker.
Years ago i read in a metal magazine, I don't remember which one (early 90s), that this was Megadeth's only song as a trio. Sounds legit as it was in the crazy months between SFSGSW and Rust. But I have searched and searched and cannot find any verifiable information about that. I probably should start a Twitter account and ask the Megadeth camp directly.

Everyone commenting on how wasted Dave Mustaine was making this video in 1989 apparently forgot that Megadeth began recording Rust in Peace, perhaps their greatest achievement, a few months after this. It was at the filming of this video that Alice Cooper convinced Dave to go into rehab and after this spin dry, we got Holy Wars and Eye of the Tornado, et all....
