- Today's video has us using a paint wash on top of this elegant desk. For this furniture makeover we will be painting the base and using the paint wash on top then adding touches of gold to give this desk an understated elegant look!

Some people like the gold- some people don’t. I guess it comes down to preference! I’m not even sure which way I liked it best 🤔

Ive had homedepot and Lowe’s color match paint that I love! They will make any paint-chalk, wall or outdoor paint that color if you take a swatch the size of a quarter!

Color washes always make me nervous but I always end up in love with how they turn out.

Why strip the top and sand the rest?
The old finish on top was thick so I would have spent a long time sanding through it all. The stripper took off the most of the topcoat then all I had to sand off was the old stain that was left. When it’s 100+ degrees out I avoid as much sanding as possible 😉
