3 Small and Easy DIY Painting Projects

- This week I took on 3 small, easy projects and did a DIY build and some painting to give them a fresh start! First we have a free chair that will live on my porch so I have somewhere to sit while watching my kiddos play. Second there are the 4 doors I took off a pair of nightstands that I'm going to attempt to make into a box! Third is a little table that used to be in my living room but needed replaced after my kids kept knocking it over!

What fun! The chair is charming! I love the way you double-stamped the flowers. That box is genious! The two designs you created are lovely. What a perfect use for those useless doors. The table is sweet and will make a perfect plant stand for a child-free and dog-free house. Or, put it on the porch as a plant stand - but also put some pots at the base so it’s a tiered effect and has less chance of tipping over. I have NEVER found an outdoor finish that will hold up to all weather. I would suggest 3 or 4 coats of poly sprayed on. Then respray it in the spring and again in the fall. That’s the way I’ve done my porch furniture. I hose it down and scuff-sand, then spray it. I have pieces that have lived through mid-west summers and winters sitting on my porch year round for 10 years. They’re still fine. I have just accepted that they have to be recoated every year.🌸

General Finishes makes a great outdoor top coat. I have used it for many things, indoor and outdoor, works wonderful! Love that box!

I want to copy you just a little bit...if it's okay!? I bought two pickle barrels in the '80's...I used one for my umbrellas! I knew it would be perfect! I now want to replace it with what you built! Thank you & don't be mad. Wish I could do the add-ons like you & the gorgeous paint job & accents like you did! GORGEOUS!

Gator hide from Fixie belle is water resistant it’s a fantastic top coat for the outdoor chair plus for the tops of dining tables etc

Three great projects! As far as an outdoor sealer, a marine varnish (one used to protect surfaces on boats) is great. Loved the box, I think it looks high end. As far as the little plant stand/end table, maybe a little gold on the feet would compliment the beautiful gold stencil on top!

We use Helmsman Spar Urethane as an outdoor sealer. We use it inside on some projects, also.

@@OurFurnitureFlippingAdventure use it on any outside wood and it will definitely protect it. It was a tip my Dad gave me. I found it quite thick but definitely worked x
