like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....

*I like the old style Echo Dot because it's small also **Newest.Technology**, gives out decent sound and doesn't take up a lot of shelf space if you want to put it on beam in the workshop or shed.*
Thanks for a great review Chris. I just ordered the Amazon dot 3 from eBay for $29. My first one. I bought 2 smart plugs a few months ago. Now I can see how this all works. I had a Sprint lg Q8 thin, with Alexa, but had no clue that I needed to download the Alexa app. Obviously why I couldn't connect with my smart plugs. My dot 3 will arrive on 8/2/19. My Sirius satellite radio subscription is trying to give me one for free what's the catch? is there a hidden cost somewhere?

This is a great video! Although at certain points when you asked your Alexa to do something, my poor Alexa Show did or tried to do the same thing. 😅
I had to keep turning the volume down to tell her it was okay or to stop!
Then I just turned her microphone button off so she wouldn’t keep getting confused.

Its abut few days my Echo dot become slow, Alexa response late, and sometimes I have to call twice until Alexa response.

You program your devices e.g. smart bulbs and sockets into Alexa using the alexa app.
