Hey everyone! No idea why this video has suddenly had a huge surge in views but if you don't enjoy it (which clearly many haven't) all I ask is take a look at some of my more recent videos. I hope you'll find them more interesting. Cheers Slippy.

@@a0MEG4z how do you no that. the control room is clearly inside since you see it while your inside the house after you blow up the room with the cake. What do you mean.
Lucas has to manually open the door anyways so it doesn't really matter. A realistic scenario where you could open the door early would just have Lucas make a joke about you trying to skip the fight.
entering the correct code first actually changes the code later on that you find on the body, there's no way to bypass the barn section as the trigger to allow the door to open is part of the barn fight
Its really not that hard to figure out. The “canon” passcode is 1408 but if you enter that in first, the game switches it to 1146 to force you to do the barn fight
@@DiggerDeeper01 Then it switches back to 1408 the barn fight is a trigger for the game to not switch the code anymore and you can type it in without changing
@@Der_Snipezz So the code literally remains as the opposite to the code I last input, even if I continuously enter 1408 then 1146 over and over? Interesting. Would have guessed there'd be a long, long list of codes to use if the previous code was used.
If you enter the correct code before you've seen the note, the code just changes. It always starts at 1408, but it changes if you enter that, and it will only change again if you enter the right one. The code doesn't lock in until you've seen the note.
It only unlocks when you have the right passcode and deposit your items. So either the item box has a pressure plate (plausible), or Lucas is messing with us and he opens the lock manually.
Clancy is the guy you play as in the first tape when 3 guys enter the house and die, the two guys died and Clancy “the person you play with” was given to lucas so lucas can play with him or use him for his games. Later you play as clancy again and die in the “happy birthday” tape.
You cannot gain access through the door before grabbing the note that contains the code. The reason for this is that the note that contains the code triggers a script that moves the event checks around. It moves Lucas from behind the door, to in front of the door (invisible and intangible), performs a self-switch on the lock gui (that will always tell you to find the code) so that it is the actual lock gui that is used to open the door, and of course the door performs a self-switch to be "locked door" instead of a prop (as it will never function as a door before finding the code). Once you walk through the door a certain distance, an invisible clipping wall will detect the player's model and trigger Lucas to appear and close the door. You cannot escape once this triggers as an invisible wall will barricade the door once Lucas' model becomes visible.
If you guess 1408 when the lock gui is always locked, then the code will change to 1146. If you attempt to use 1146 before getting the note, the lock gui will still prevent you from entering, and (from what I've heard) the code will change again.
Even if the script made it so that it was correct, Lucas would still have to enable it in that security room. Lucas would obviously not want to be in the Saw puzzle with Ethan.
Guys, for those viewers commenting this video was for 'nothing'...Please think about it. It took me hours to try every combination of code. So it isn't 'pointless'. The point is to save you guys wasting hours trying it yourselves only to get the same result i did!!!
Juicebox You obviously came here for a reason to find out what happens... So if i hadn't of uploaded it you wouldn't of know unless you tried yourself.
TheHasmith99 Yeah, 90% of the videos on YT could probably be done in 3 seconds but they're not. Your favourites films could be told in 3 seconds. So sorry if you feel like that. Like i said the point is you learned not to try this yourself or you'll waste HOURS not 3 mins.
The reason you would be able to re-enter a password is because the first time you activate the switch it will activate the trap, no matter what...now depending how the activators are programmed it might have just been easier to leave it 'touchable' and move on to other things.
My theory here would be that the code for the password is written after you type in the first password. So if you type in the password you usually get, it will be incorrect, and a new random password is created. So you literally can never guess it on the first go.
Part of the trope: You Shouldn't Know This Already lets you bypass certain points during a second play knowing the combination, direction or destination. They don't let you bypass in this game which you have to trigger an event for the password unlike invoked in the "Happy Birthday" puzzle after watching Clancy's tape.
Actually, why doesn't Ethan just shoot Lucas right then when he's right behind the metal fence? there is clearly enough room to fit a bullet between the bars.
You cant enter the room before finding the paper with the code. The finding of the paper that has the code is a hard script moment that enacts the algorythms and sequences needed to progress. The program for the game script is set where no matter what code you enter it will not work bc the script of the game demands ethan move through certain check.points and event sequences Its not like the birthday puzzle bc that section is written more like a puzzle and the only variable is " if plug is removed it sets trigger event for death by fire" vs if plug is not removed trigger dynamite script sequence.
I believe they are called trigger walls and when you trigger something you might get something in return like a jumpscare ☻ but yes its programmed to trigger after you hit the stairs
Just upload a 1 second screenshot and title it 'If you type in 1408 before finding it on the piece of paper; nothing happens'. Might have saved you some time.
Saved you 3 minutes. If you enter 1408 before completing Lucas's barn challenge, it'll do the exact same thing as entering any other incorrect passcode. After that, you'll get a different 4 digit code.
I've read that you won't be able to get through the door without finding the note. Someone said the Code before going through the section is 5 or even 6 Digits long but the input will only allow 4 digits and that a Switch triggers upon finding the Note that changed the Keypad-Code to that 4-Digit code. Much like there's no, non-hacking way of surviving the Happy Birthday Tape as Clancy will always say that he first needs to find the Code for the Lock on the door for the Valve.
Never played any of the dlc apart from the Chris dlc not a hero I think it called very interesting regardless I wonder if there is a secret/Easter egg to be found
I don't think you can skip that part. This game is almost impossible to "sequence break". I've tried getting the dog emblem before fighting jack, you cant pick it up. If you noclip through the door that requires 2 keycards and press E near the TV, nothing happens. if you noclip all the way to the door with the passcode, you can't even enter a passcode. Scripted events can't execute until the required previous event has happened.
Am I the only person on the planet who plays games with the brightness set correctly?! Every single RE video on youtube looks like people have the brightness set to max. Kills all the fun. Remember, you're supposed to barely see the gray square.
Hi, No you're not. You need to remember its different playing a game on your own, and recording a video for others to watch. There wouldn't be much point making a video with the brightness set low (like it should be) so viewers can barely see what you're talking about or doing.
the code is most likely RNG that only triggers when the room with the code loads in for the first time. Either that or perhaps the initial time going to the code pad, there is a exact copy of the code pad that cant be used. Slippy Slides "What Happens If You Enter It First" is a title that gives the impression of something actually happening. Furthermore, this impression becomes stronger when one notices the lenght of this video before watching it (which is a common practice); because, making a 3 minutes video of nothing happening is definitely not interesting, so pretty much pointless, isn't it? Why are so many people mad at this? Yes, it is trivial but in science the trivial are basic experiments that reveal the world at it's basic. Here we learn the game has a trigger baked into it. Alternatively the sequence may have just opened the door regardless of progress. These basic experiments lay an open window to understand how the developers created the game and to what length they went through for it to be played in order. This is a great video tbh imo

For completeness' sake you should have shown if the code was actually 1408 or 1146 when you find it. The reason being that the game could be programmed to change the code ONLY if you try to enter it in this scene. Like maybe if you enter 1408 then the code changes to 1146. Or he says you need a passcode for the door and it’s actually just remote controlled by him. Or the devs didn’t think about that, same as if you don’t take the winding key out of the barrel in the vhs tape of Clancy.
The paascode won't open the door either way. Lucas opens the door himself after you go through the barn and fight the fatso. Lucas like playing games and doesn't like others cheating
I cannot believe this. I actually wrote 1408 on a whim because of Stephen King's short story. Then I deleted it and wrote 0451 as a nod to Deus ex. When I realised the passcode was ACTUALLY 1408 I was so mad. Glad to see it wouldn't have worked anyway.
Yk. I entered one of the codes Lucas said, knowing it was a trap. I just wanted to see what would happen, and when I heard “Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock.” It still didnt click. I stood there… I died. 😂
Anyone else’s game get a bit weird around this part? Like when Lucas is talking to you and ripping off his nails, the lip syncing is wayyyyy off, and then at this scene when he comes up to the door and say “passwords right?” He sometimes has his hood up, and then the next play through it will be down
What if you use some small passing thing and go directly to the upper room see the letter drop the stairs and then use the code when Lucas is watching from the door
it's impossible to open that door before going through the trap area and getting the code because the code in this part is randomly generated and is always different everytime.

Ah shit, now Imma track you down, boah!
(Just kidding! Or am I...?)
Or he says you need a passcode for the door and it’s actually just remote controlled by him. Or the devs didn’t think about that, same as if you don’t take the winding key out of the barrel in the vhs tape of Clancy.
I never notice metal bar swing, I was just wander around to find password because I have to!
it is possible to enter this area without finding the password. try 7523.
The paascode won't open the door either way. Lucas opens the door himself after you go through the barn and fight the fatso. Lucas like playing games and doesn't like others cheating
Pretty interesting, thanks dude
I cannot believe this. I actually wrote 1408 on a whim because of Stephen King's short story.
Then I deleted it and wrote 0451 as a nod to Deus ex.
When I realised the passcode was ACTUALLY 1408 I was so mad. Glad to see it wouldn't have worked anyway.
This video could have been 30 seconds long with that title
Yk. I entered one of the codes Lucas said, knowing it was a trap. I just wanted to see what would happen, and when I heard “Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock.” It still didnt click. I stood there… I died. 😂
i know i m very very late but i think the burned body is clancy
Use the code that you use with the toy axe maybe ?? Unless its more than a 4 dig code of course, just a thought!
I've been thinking this For a Long Time What Happened to Lucas Before You Escaped the Room thats one big Mystery of RE 7
There's a DLC of that.
Great Video! By the way, I subscribed you 😊
Anyone else’s game get a bit weird around this part? Like when Lucas is talking to you and ripping off his nails, the lip syncing is wayyyyy off, and then at this scene when he comes up to the door and say “passwords right?” He sometimes has his hood up, and then the next play through it will be down
Try putting a random code in before then do 1408 or 1156
0514 seems familiar...its order is also mixed up.
Rest is for you to discover ;)
1408 is a literally a horror movie
1408 is what I have to dial to call someone lol
1408 is a Stephen's kings book and there's also a movie too
I wonder if its 1015 cause thats the time all the clocks are on and he also says tick tock like a clock
This part gives me a hard time guessing, not knowing that the only thing to do is. lucas never let you in with a weapon or item in your inventory.
any reference to the Stephen King novella/film?
What if you use some small passing thing and go directly to the upper room see the letter drop the stairs and then use the code when Lucas is watching from the door
What if you drop all your weapons on the chest at safe zone and then you enter the code
1408 is a stephen king book
It's also a film. "I've had it with these muthafuckin ghosts, in this muthafuckin room!!"
when i type 1408,on that thing where u type passcode says open, but the door wont open???
I think it’s the year it happened that shows up on the note
it's impossible to open that door before going through the trap area and getting the code because the code in this part is randomly generated and is always different everytime.
It's not randomly generated. It's set but it can change depending on you messing with the door.
I.E you put in 1408, it'll change to 1148
Why does the Code go through his gun?
What happens if you have knowledge about the clown game you go through with Lucas while playing the VCR version as Clancey?
The game breaks
