I would say this mode really enforces the survival horror aspect ALOT. You barely get any ammo, spawns are completely different (Items are moved in different places too), AI is more realistic and best of all your health is barely even there. Making it more realistic in that aspect and considerably adding the best immersion for VR (in which I am playing in). Madhouse mode is the true Survival experience I highly recommend you play Madhouse mode.
I just beat the game on Normal a few days ago. Now that I know you unlock infinite ammo after beating Madhouse I will run through Madhouse again but with inf ammo.
Beat it the other day on Madhouse. Definitely had to rethink boss battles, guard a lot more, and utilize crafting and ammo conservation more. Really added to the tension. I enjoyed it, and may go through again with my newly unlocked infinite ammo.
I'm about half way through it and it feels like a different experience. I never felt scared on normal, but this mode terrifies me because it forces you to go back if you didnt save. Especially when you're running low on ammo and you just want to reach that next save room.
For the people struggling with the Mia fight in the beginning: You can actually leave the room to give you some distance and time to breathe, as she will have to saw the doors open. Plus you can counter her chainsaw charge (not her slashes) by blocking, which makes her stumble back and gives you a free headshot. Good luck!
Thank you all so much for the advice! The first part I'm sure will be hard so just this little advantage wouldn't hurt 😅 I still have to experience the rest of the game on madhouse for myself still so yeah, wish me luck haha
@@leonpaelinck yeah it really depends how your able to save your tapes, I was referring to the jack fight in the garage with the police officer cutscene right before. So far on madhouse I’ve been able to get to the jack fight with the chainsaw. Can’t really beat that lol

Madhouse was my best experience with the game, it felt like a real RE classic with survival elements, limited saves, like the first game all over again.
Maddie Rylee You run around in a panic because you did not watch any videos about the game prior to playing then you try to get in the car without the keys which ends with you being torn out of the car and Jack trying to run you over.
Quester91 Though, it could have been a little longer and could've had a bit more variation in weapons. But by the time you get it. you really don't have much need for it.
Brofistion FTW And you're expecting the crowbar and hatchet to have some wonderful, inventive moveset compared to the knife? lol whats the point in that?

The Mia fight Marguerite boss All of the fast molded More fat molded (at least double) Less ammo I'm at the part where the cave is collapsing, right before the final boss. It's very, very hard.
@@arcticgodzilla4492 Ikr, but thT is hard too... Im to marguerite House and is very hard... I dont have burner fuel... Fucked up. I finished madhouse 3 times, and it worth because of infinite ammo 😈
one thing that really got me fucked up about this mode was during the end of the game where ethan has to climb up a ladder with two fat molded in the tunnel, you think you're about to win climbing up the latter until you realized three traps are set across the ladder... swear it took me the longer than any other thing to do lol
DystrVctionシンゴジラ yes! run, and don't stop; don't watch the tapes (only the last one - Mia's boat tape); if you forget what to do, just pause the game (time stops); get the albert, and go straight to the jack chainsaw fight; get the broken shotgun and repair kit; don't carry many itens; the last jack fight, use the neuro rounds to kill him fast; after that, just run everything; don't fight the fat molds, only the elevator one; don't get the machine gun; on the mines, run and shoot, don't kill enemies; the last two fat molds, climb the metal platform, wait them get closer, and go straight to the ladder; save the magnum to finish eveline very fast. if you screw up, you can do that in 3h-3,5h; before the last jack fight, you'll need at least 1 hour, to be safe; so save separate there, in case things go wrong not hard to do, if you watch carcinogen videos
Personally for me, the greatest confusion that Madhouse created for me was giving me Grenade Launcher in the trailer. It made me think "hey, wait up - if they're giving me this so early, that means I'm going to fight something in there" while they did put some molded in the old house, I expected some sort of overmutated Marquerite or something. It made sense of fear greater, because it left me slowly creeping through the old house thinking that something is gonna fuck me over.
Clayton Hernandez i thought Go Tell Aunt Rhody eas great (if it counts). Also, the theme before you play the game was memorable to me. Yeah, apart from that I cant remember anything compared to the music in Revelations which I can still remember. Anyway, what is your favorite RE music?
them: you should try out resident evil 7 in VR. Me who played resident evil 7 for the first time in VR mode: you fool I am already 4 parallel universes ahead of you
"Okay, just gotta run to the safe room and- EEK!" That was adorable and I loved it XD Btw I absolutely love your videos, I find myself staying up all night watching them!
The four items that have been carrying me through madhouse are the circular saw, x-ray glasses, the art of defense and the essence of defense. Those are what's been dragging me through this.
After dying to Mia 5-6 times, my weak ass decided that, although I was intriqued to play the game in a new way, the Infinite Ammo wasn't worth losing my mind over. I will play it one day. But for now, I think I'll just replay it on Normal.
if you pick up the axe from where you fight her the first time, you can block her running attack and then follow up with a single hit after the animation finishes, it will always stun her letting you run away, get enough distance between you and she'll do the same running attack every time, get a couple of headshots in before she charges each time and you're fine, it takes a while but you can do it without even getting hit
Yeah don't get too discouraged. I died on the Mia fight over 10 times before I finally got her. You'll get it eventually. It was by far the hardest part of madhouse for me personally. I just couldn't get the headshots lined up and wasted my ammo and it takes so long to reload. Like others have said if you've already unlocked the saw then the rest of madhouse is basically a cakewalk. Hard part is getting to that first item box lol.
+GeorgeWBushTeaBag - I see, so the Mia fight is basically a test to see if you are up for the challenge, as in, if you win that fight you can beat that reast no sweat. Okay.
I love that you can obtain all DLC or addons by beating the game on any difficulty or a certain one with one objective it lets anyone have more fun with out having to pay money
Glad I watched this. I don't know if I'll ever play the game for a third time, especially on Madhouse, but I'm glad to know what that game "mode" holds for us. I'm very appreciative to say the least. And impresses with Capcom to have the foresight to make those specific changes to get that replayability increased.
I would recommend using the walking shoes for mobility as you are not going to be running all the time, the secrets of defense and the essence of defense so you don’t die as much, the x-ray glasses so you can collect items easier, the Albert handgun as it is the best gun, and the chainsaw because it is op Side note- the reason the Albert is the best is because it has much easier ammo to find
Enjoyed this game by starting from lowest setting to highest to gain all the unlocks bit by bit. Def made it more fun than playing hardest setting on day 1
This game is way smaller and shorter than any Souls game. Plus they aren't even the same kind of game. This is like looking at something from Contra and saying "ZELDA TAKE NOTICE!"
ummm... hey guys do you know if i play the game on normal and beat it and start a campaign on easy would my gear/everything transfer over to this magical military box?
A way to make madhouse easier is to beat the game under 4 hours (recommended on easy) and you will get a circular saw which does amazing damage and x-ray glasses witch is phycostimilus but 24/7.
I hate high difficulties that make enemies uber tanks, this difficulty requires being a blocking master and i always hated blocking because it makes no sense
I found that in the first Mia-fight if you block her when she's charging at you, you take no damage, just kick her back (worked every time I did it anyways, not sure about how it works against her when she's just swinging the chainsaw, kept my distance by running out of the room). Then just run out of the room and reload, breathe and wait for her to slowly saw her way through doors giving you time to aim for the headshot. That darn car key twist gave me a heart palpitations. As did Jack's increased reappearances when he stalks Ethan throughout the house. Being chased by him was by far the scariest parts for me personally. I thought Madhouse was a great addition to the overall experience.
Did you know you can combine regular bullets with gun powder to make enhanced ammo. I thought it was only gunpowder and strong Chem fluid, you use 10 regular bullets and gunpowder to get 5 enhanced
Finished madhouse got the platinum for re7 gotta tell ya I wouldn't wish this difficulty on a family member. The jack final transformation battle is the worst. Never playing biohazard again. Love resident evil series forever.
Beating Mia is much easier if you wait for her to charge at you and block. Ethan will move the chainsaw away, no damage will be received and Mia will be momentarily stunned.
Advice for crafting: Just got a strong Chem fluid and want to make a strong first aid or enhanced ammo? You can, but what if you could also get a grenade ammo as well? I discovered a way to get BOTH with just ONE strong Chem fluid. All you need to do is: 1. Check to see if you have Solid fuel or Supplements (needed to craft grenade ammo), and also if you have separating agent. 2. Craft the grenade ammo of your choosing using the strong Chem fluid. You will now have two grenade ammo. 3. Now use the separating on the new grenade ammo. Funny enough, it will only take one of them to remake strong Chem fluid You will now have an extra grenade ammo but still have the strong Chem fluid. This is literally the best use of separating agent whenever I play
GOTY for me and its only February! I was worried the first person viewpoint would detatch from the "Resi" feel... I need not have worried! This is Resident Evil 4 all over again, fresh and new yet still feels like it should! Bring on Resident Evil 8!
TheBoycie86. not trying to be rude here but no game has ever won game of the year when it releases at the beginning of the year or in the middle of the year. all the games that win game of the year are games that have released around September or later.
Definitely get the circular saw and other add-ons you can get before going to madhouse for your first madhouse playthrough it will make things alot easier to deal with.. btw if you are brave instead of hiding from Jack during that first little run after the table scene when u run out of the kitchen into the hallway where you'll find the key on the table run fast grab the key and then turn fast run into the kitchen make sure u shut the door on jack hurry run to the underground door unlock it and don't panic just open it crouch and drop down fast.. it's the best and fastest way to get into that hole before jack can grab u otherwise your gonna be hiding up to five minutes trying to figure out how ur gonna unlock the door without getting spiked... And at the very end in the tunnel with the bloaters the huge one go up get aggro then run all the way back u should saved up your nerve gas stay back at the stairs and pummel them with ur nerve gas and take calculated headshots with your best gun which is gonna be ur albert or the magnum If you have the ammo but most of you probably won't on first playthrough of madhouse so use ur albert with enhanced ammo and keep nerve gas then headshots and eventually they fat guys will drop
Mia is easy when you simply run pass everything. Marguerite too if you just run pass all the hives and molded. you will have plenty of fuel and bullets to unload on Margu
I've been having a blast with this difficulty after picking up the game after not having played it since 2017. Stuck at Jack's final fight though, you can't have too many slip ups in that one it seems
Man I just beat this difficulty like yesterday, though I didn’t imagine that I’d finish it in like 7hrs. Before I tried Madhouse I got all the “special” items you receive for completing the game under certain circumstances to totally help out. They totally helped out a ton. The game definitely starts off harder and gets progressively easier tho as you learn how much the game’s changed.
man he makes the mia boss fight 1:46 sound difficult its really not if you block when she is trying to strike you you will catch her chainsaw and bing bang boom she dead. just make space between each other and shoot her in the head if you run out of bullets just use the axe on her. me personally i struggled more on the final jack stage near the endgame.
I know I'm just one comment amongst many, but I am really thankful for this video for showing me just another aspect to this amazing game I had not realized yet. I was originally a bit appalled by its price tag but now I'm actually thinking about upgrading my system (which might be due anyways) just for this title. Thanks dude. Great job!
Just started my Madhouse playthrough today, at first was real frustrated by how much quicker you can die and how much more lethal enemies/bosses are till I realized it's actually quite a bit more fair than most highest difficulty games. As enemies don't just become bullet sponges, instead yes the enemies are more formidable and resources/saving are less abundant but the game gives you everything you need to defeat them. Including unlockables from other playthroughs (circular saw, x-ray glasses, the Albert pistol) which really does balance things out quite nicely. Just defeated Jack in the basement (wasn't easy lol), and about to head in to the old house heh-heh let's see how this goes.
Just a tip: you DO need the Scorpion key because with it you open the nearby Scorpion Door (Save in the room near the basement) and head directly down to the Jack boss fight. If you do this, Jack will be dead and the next time you see him is near the end (you can roam freely around the house) ...you're welcome

Dude its op. I got the infinite ammo, and i ABUSED the gernade launcher cause of madhouse. And holy crap, never felt so satisfing firing infinite ammo.

The Mia fight
Marguerite boss
All of the fast molded
More fat molded (at least double)
Less ammo
I'm at the part where the cave is collapsing, right before the final boss. It's very, very hard.
Because at the fat molded at the end and the 2 fat molded? I died about 8 times at that part >.
@@maxmccutchen1753 Can't you just go by them? I didn't even fight them
@@arcticgodzilla4492 Ikr, but thT is hard too... Im to marguerite House and is very hard... I dont have burner fuel... Fucked up.
I finished madhouse 3 times, and it worth because of infinite ammo 😈
That cave was nightmare I literally spent a whole hour to do it :D
@@hagiuarmando2342 explore the house BEFORE spawning margerite. You can collect many fuel
one thing that really got me fucked up about this mode was during the end of the game where ethan has to climb up a ladder with two fat molded in the tunnel, you think you're about to win climbing up the latter until you realized three traps are set across the ladder... swear it took me the longer than any other thing to do lol
recommended to do madhouse mode with the circular saw
circular saw?
beat the game in 4 hours or less in any difficult. best weapon, kill anything and don't need ammo or reload
Only if you have the intention to just beat Madhouse as easy as you can. Don't use circular saw if you want a challenge.
Storm Bringer If that's the case, gonna have to play on easy this time around. I need to run past enemies.
DystrVctionシンゴジラ yes! run, and don't stop; don't watch the tapes (only the last one - Mia's boat tape); if you forget what to do, just pause the game (time stops); get the albert, and go straight to the jack chainsaw fight; get the broken shotgun and repair kit; don't carry many itens; the last jack fight, use the neuro rounds to kill him fast; after that, just run everything; don't fight the fat molds, only the elevator one; don't get the machine gun; on the mines, run and shoot, don't kill enemies; the last two fat molds, climb the metal platform, wait them get closer, and go straight to the ladder; save the magnum to finish eveline very fast.
if you screw up, you can do that in 3h-3,5h; before the last jack fight, you'll need at least 1 hour, to be safe; so save separate there, in case things go wrong
not hard to do, if you watch carcinogen videos
3:58 is perfect omg
Personally for me, the greatest confusion that Madhouse created for me was giving me Grenade Launcher in the trailer. It made me think "hey, wait up - if they're giving me this so early, that means I'm going to fight something in there" while they did put some molded in the old house, I expected some sort of overmutated Marquerite or something. It made sense of fear greater, because it left me slowly creeping through the old house thinking that something is gonna fuck me over.
I'll be honest with you guys. This game didn't feel like Resident Evil at all... until I got that shotgun!
bodiesofwater ha u know it
bodiesofwater Even then it still didn't feel like Resident Evil. Almost no freaking amazing RE soundtrack!
Clayton Hernandez Wdym? The soundtrack is amazing.
Ren G Well I really liked(almost loved) the save room music in RE7. But I can't really recall any other worthy music in the game beyond that.
Or you could just run past all those mobs you wasted your ammo on.
Amocoru you must be joking. you probably havent played
You actually can do that... Maybe not run past them like nothing, but one shot to stun them and run past.
Amocoru enter the room, spawn the enemies, leave the room until they despawn, done, lol it's easy but no fun
Gustavozxd13 they have respawned for me -.-
heart shaped box some do, some don't, depends on the part of the game
Your little squeak when you opened the door, too cute
them: you should try out resident evil 7 in VR. Me who played resident evil 7 for the first time in VR mode: you fool I am already 4 parallel universes ahead of you
3:58 “Just gotta run to this save room and EEEK”
SO ACCURATE 😂
"Okay, just gotta run to the safe room and- EEK!"
That was adorable and I loved it XD
Btw I absolutely love your videos, I find myself staying up all night watching them!
PikaLink91 to me that was the hardest of madhouse she was awful on madhouse but the rest was super easy if you unlocked the circular saw
if you pick up the axe from where you fight her the first time, you can block her running attack and then follow up with a single hit after the animation finishes, it will always stun her letting you run away, get enough distance between you and she'll do the same running attack every time, get a couple of headshots in before she charges each time and you're fine, it takes a while but you can do it without even getting hit
+Mike Appleton - I see, thanks for the tip.
Okay.
3:59 omg that little "ee" was so cute
I love that you can obtain all DLC or addons by beating the game on any difficulty or a certain one with one objective it lets anyone have more fun with out having to pay money
Stop lying lol
Glad I watched this. I don't know if I'll ever play the game for a third time, especially on Madhouse, but I'm glad to know what that game "mode" holds for us.
I'm very appreciative to say the least. And impresses with Capcom to have the foresight to make those specific changes to get that replayability increased.
Is Jesse eisenberg commentating?
Quite a bit late, but that was my exact thought! He sounds extremely similar.
Holy shit I thought I was the only one thinking this
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Was looking for this!
The first fight is the hardest, after that, things are pretty easy. The end is a little tricky too, but it's very playable. .
Anthrax be like: It's a madhouse!!
Ha! I think that EVERY time! 😅
I would recommend using the walking shoes for mobility as you are not going to be running all the time, the secrets of defense and the essence of defense so you don’t die as much, the x-ray glasses so you can collect items easier, the Albert handgun as it is the best gun, and the chainsaw because it is op
Side note- the reason the Albert is the best is because it has much easier ammo to find
Enjoyed this game by starting from lowest setting to highest to gain all the unlocks bit by bit. Def made it more fun than playing hardest setting on day 1
I will pay someone to come beat the game for me on Mad House just so I can get infinite ammo.
Splash Brotherss how much
How much you paying? Lol
Offer still on the table?
Infinite ammo is earned, not given to you on a plate.
Or download save file
the way he went "Eeep" was hilarious
Madhouse is like “Ethan must die” but with limited saves at least
Beat it on madhouse in 3 hrs 40 minutes, was so much more fun than being on normal. Keeps you on the edge of your seat
DARK SOULS TAKE NOTICE!!. this is what i wanted, new enemy placement, new loot placement, and new mechanics
Two completely different game genres there.
ThundeRZ Lundorff doesn't Dark Souls already do something like this in New Game Plus?
Dark Souls 2 did, but I'm guessing 3 was too rushed to allow for fun NG+ stuff.
ThundeRZ Lundorff ng + in 2 and 3 have that not very much in three but its there bary
This game is way smaller and shorter than any Souls game. Plus they aren't even the same kind of game. This is like looking at something from Contra and saying "ZELDA TAKE NOTICE!"
Am I the only person who thought that the "Go tell Aunt Rhody" song was really good and constantly listens to it...
No, it's actually really good. Also it's on the the credits and one of the most memorable things about the resis are the credits songs.
I never skip the game intro because of that.
Would playing with a mouse make headshots easier?
TheArtkaw yes
lol yes immense difference
I thought so...
ummm... hey guys do you know if i play the game on normal and beat it and start a campaign on easy would my gear/everything transfer over to this magical military box?
every completion bonus is permanent and will carry over to any difficulty
The fact that you sound just like Jesse Eisenberg "you know ... The guy from zombie land" makes this video so much better.
Wait a minute...
Your right
A way to make madhouse easier is to beat the game under 4 hours (recommended on easy) and you will get a circular saw which does amazing damage and x-ray glasses witch is phycostimilus but 24/7.
I technically "cheated" by unlocking the buzzsaw and X-Ray glasses before playing madhouse. Both were a big help in some places.
It’s not really cheating though because you had to beat the game under 4 hours to get those, which can be challenging for some
This was the video that made me play through madhouse for the first time a few years ago; it was tough, but it was so worth it.
This is by far one of the best descriptions of the game I have seen in a long time very well done my friend 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
unskippable cutscenes are the worst
I think there are only three real cutseens in the game. The rest are happening "live"
Madhouse is the way RE 7 is meant to be played
... a second time.
I'd rather not have to spend 20 minutes dumping ammo into bosses, thank you
3:59 That mouse _"EEP"_ squeak tho. Love it. 🤣
3:59 for infinite "eeps". I found it adorable.
I just want the secret weapon and infinite ammo! But playing this in madhouse mode... lemme think about that
Finished madhouse got the platinum for re7 gotta tell ya I wouldn't wish this difficulty on a family member. The jack final transformation battle is the worst. Never playing biohazard again. Love resident evil series forever.
The “hee” when that molded came out of the corner 🤣
Beating Mia is much easier if you wait for her to charge at you and block. Ethan will move the chainsaw away, no damage will be received and Mia will be momentarily stunned.
Advice for crafting:
Just got a strong Chem fluid and want to make a strong first aid or enhanced ammo? You can, but what if you could also get a grenade ammo as well? I discovered a way to get BOTH with just ONE strong Chem fluid.
All you need to do is:
Funny enough, it will only take one of them to remake strong Chem fluid
You will now have an extra grenade ammo but still have the strong Chem fluid. This is literally the best use of separating agent whenever I play
It's better, scarier, harder, more fun etc. this game is awesome
I can’t stop picturing Jesse Eisenberg as the person narrating this
Omg haha I just noticed that haha
GOTY for me and its only February! I was worried the first person viewpoint would detatch from the "Resi" feel... I need not have worried! This is Resident Evil 4 all over again, fresh and new yet still feels like it should! Bring on Resident Evil 8!
TheBoycie86. not trying to be rude here but no game has ever won game of the year when it releases at the beginning of the year or in the middle of the year.
all the games that win game of the year are games that have released around September or later.
+SappyBottomBoys - you moron. He meant personally for him, not GOTY officially.
Vexant Entertainment no shit
+wietse sinnaeve Apparently it wasn't clear to some, don't be an imbecile about it.
And also at the Barn You remember the fat Molded there isn’t one there is two fat mold and you have to fight both of them
Mad House really is not as hard as you want it to be. Unfortunate that some fights are stupidly OP whilst 90% of Mad House is mild.
I do like the new additions though, like the Garage Fight etc.
LiverSpottedHunk the Hardest part was the Boat level with Mia and Marguerite boss fight
Mia is easy when you simply run pass everything.
Marguerite too if you just run pass all the hives and molded. you will have plenty of fuel and bullets to unload on Margu
LiverSpottedHunk madhouse mode is more annoyed than hard tbh :-(
Those two fat fucks at the end of the mine gave me the most trouble throughout my playthrough
4 me the mad house mode is the TRUE way to play res7, so brutal and fun.
I played this game on LSD it was awesome

I've been having a blast with this difficulty after picking up the game after not having played it since 2017. Stuck at Jack's final fight though, you can't have too many slip ups in that one it seems
Man I just beat this difficulty like yesterday, though I didn’t imagine that I’d finish it in like 7hrs.
Before I tried Madhouse I got all the “special” items you receive for completing the game under certain circumstances to totally help out. They totally helped out a ton.

Dang you weirdo.
man he makes the mia boss fight 1:46 sound difficult its really not if you block when she is trying to strike you you will catch her chainsaw and bing bang boom she dead. just make space between each other and shoot her in the head if you run out of bullets just use the axe on her. me personally i struggled more on the final jack stage near the endgame.
Great job!

@@GamerMK-fw1fo That answer made me laugh to death
This is gonna be tough, the chainsaw fight in normal mode was hard enough.
Use the wesker gun with enhanced ammo
