Actually the very first Street fighter game was released under the title Fighting Street (ファイティング・ストリート Faitingu Sutorīto?) in 1988, so yeah that book was titled correctly, no word play at all really.

some anime actually have been censored from their original manga in Japan. one piece is a great example. in the manga we see how luffy got his scar and a few decapitations but in the anime these scenes were removed. then the US and other countries censored it more.

With the kind of horror films that comes to us from Japan, it always surprises me how much their games are censored. I'm really curious why they choose to censor this medium and not others or if it just has more to do with the dead/undead.

It is odd- just look at the original RE, the US version had a lot of the blood and gore edited out of the intro, plus, the first iconic encounter with the zombie munching away on the starrs dude, in the jp version, his head rolls away, but, they cut away from that in the US version- plus, they censored out Chris Redfield lighting a cigarette!

The name "sewer gators" comes form re2, when you enter the sewer, a giant alligator chases you and you have go get it to eat a tank of propane.

I didnt find it till my 3rd playthrough
When I played, I didn’t want to answer the phone so I ran to the old house and it was closed, so I answered the call and couldn’t find the old house and assumed the locked gate wouldn’t unlock so I never checked there. Checked the yard thoroughly and found the projector, assumed I had to use a statuette like every other shadow puzzle

@@_Circus_Clapped_ if you mean the outbreak servers, there's a fan run server that still works with an emulator or a Japanese copy of outbreak. Look up 'Dear Yoko Outbreak for a tutorial on how to set it up in 10 minutes.
Shame the outbreak games were overshadowed by RE4. I spent hundred of hours playing these games even if it had long loading times (I was a teenager so I had plenty of time). Many praise RE7 for the changes Madhouse difficulty offers, but these games also had huge changes on higher difficulty levels.
I remember on the very 1st level, I thought I knew my around on the bar, but when I finally unlocked the higher difficulty settings, I was like WHAT? One of the 1st keys that is supposed to be on plain sigh is nowhere to be seen. It's much harder to get to the exit because there's a lot more to do so you can get the key items. That applies to most if not all levels in these games.

In Japan they have a "grotesque" version of the game, where they uncensored some parts, but it's still not 100% as the original game.
-The hand gets cut off.
-The attack on the policeman is more gruesome than what you show here, but the head still doesn't split in half.
-In the fridge there is still only the picture.
-When you get to the corpse, its head is the one you should find in the fridge (like, open, with teeth like things), but the key is still just on the body.
I live in Japan, and I was disappointed after buying this version to find out I was missing on some cool scenes, but still, it's not as crap as the normal Japanese version.
I loved the out break series. I’m pretty sure that the article around the house “ 16 years the survivors of raccoon city still suffer” was in reference to the other survivors of the outbreak including Alyssa Ashcroft.
As a Texan I have the Whataburger design burned in my memory lol. I got super excitied when I saw it in the trash can in the kitchen lol

Now that you mention it - that`s really strange. They have so many ultrahardcore-violence animes and other stuff, but censor these two hand chopping off scenes with Mia and on the dinnertable (and the Deputy-scene).
It’s because of the graphics. Cartoons or artwork are allowed as it’s very clearly animation or a drawing whereas games like this are more live action then they are animated. This is why most adult products representing Hentai pornography are not censored but live action Japanese pornography is.

I quite like the japanese version, to me on the 1st playthrough it wasnt obvious that the body in the basement was the deputy or his head was in the fridge, i thought it was just a random mould head...took a 2nd playthrough for me to realize as i looked up at his hanging body heard ethan say "poor deputy"
I really don't understand all these censored parts from the Japanese while they are the first creators of hard scenes in Manga, I just don't get it... 🤷♂️

5:05 Also to add to this section, I found a photo in the main foyer (room with the dog head door) that depicts the "Arklay Mountains" which is a nod to Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 1 as the training facility and mansion took place here.

Had anybody even tried speedrunning the Japan version of this game. I mean since that one is censored a tad bit, you can bypass that unskipable scene with the deputy. That would shave 10 to 15 seconds off the run which is a god send for any speedrunner.
At one point there’s a circular mirror with broken galsd that has a very striking resemblance to the Umbrella logo :)

Another widely unknown fact is that the starting area (where the tape player is in the menu) is in the trailer, most of it had been gutted and all there is, is a bed and the desk, but the interior is still the same

Another hidden Easter egg was when you are inserting the password to get inside of the puzzle room created by Lucas. The sound effects are from the first Resident Evil game and has been a staple of the series for a major part of its life.

in the ticking box one if u do the same thing for bomb boxes in campaign u can avoid those as well

Actually I think every time Ethan gets hit his hand loosens as well as the staples, so that lets out blood, and I he uses the meds to PARTIALLY seal the wound, but since it was a while ago, scabs are blocking the water,
