You don't want to machine wash because of the wax coating on the cotton outer..wipe any dirt by hand or turn inside out to clean inside with a sponge or fiber cloth and soap..Rewax when needed maybe every year or two depending on weather

In my opinion (after years of buying various Barbour jackets inc. Bedale, Beaufort, Ashby, International etc.) I would strongly recommend a Medium in the Ashby, it's a more fitted version of the Bedale. ❤
