How to Light Your Charcoal Grill Naturally without Lighter Fluid

- Skip the lighter fluid and use Chef David Rose's natural method for lighting your charcoal grill. Lighter fluid contains chemicals and additives which will affect and alter the glorious flavors of your Omaha Steaks proteins. Instead use all-natural charcoal starters or olive oil. To use olive oil to start a fire, soak charcoal with 1/3 cup of olive oil and saturate four to five paper towels with 1/3 cup of olive oil. Light paper towels and top with three to four coals. You'll have a fire in no time.

I don't pour oil on the charcoal. I just pour old cooking oil on 2 sheets of paper towel and roll it. Hasn't failed me yet.
I've found that jet fuel works better

don't use oil and paper towels, you just waste good oil and paper towels,instead use a charcoal chimney and a small fire lighter natural or synthetic or you can soak a small piece of charcoal in kerosene or turpentine. in 25 to 30 minutes the firelighter and/or accelerant will burn off posing no risk.
I recommend soaking two cotton balls soaked in rubbing alcohol for those days you don’t have starters! Works very well

Paper towels have chemicals that will affect those omaha steaks too bud! Dry twigs may be a better alternative.

Lighter fluid is just lazy. Cook without it and you’ll smell and taste the difference.
Literally no difference. It all burns off in the first 3 minutes. So buy the expensive shit if it tickles your pickle, but this is absolutely bullshit
