    I use to do this method all the time. I hate dealing with fluid and risk for fire hazard. It’s time consuming but worth it once you get used to it.

    Thank you for this video. I took my family hiking and prepared 2 bbq at the picnic area and didn't bring lighter fluid . i had a horrible time in the wind burning napkins. We didn't succeed but thanks 2 this video, ill be ready next time.

    Hello😊 May I know if it’s possible to just use tiny lava rocks only and light it using an arc lighter? (without any gas or oil?) I ask because I want to cook using my small table top firepit without using anything toxic including the recommended rubbing alcohol liquids but am not sure how. Could you advise me? Thanks!🙏

    I haven't tried these but these seem like legitimate methods, so why are there so many dislikes? I feel as if the majority of them come from so called 'professionals' who have done things by the book and look down on people who try alternative and cheaper methods. Like people who scoff at unorthodox methods that are fool proof.

    Hi, thank you for sharing this. What I need to know is this: Why do you put it on top of the grill instead of inside? Because the food needs to go on top of the grill itself. I usually use foil on top of the grill so that the food is clean. Can the same method be used inside the grill instead of on top?

      yes, is meant to be done inside the grill on the charcoal grates. we placed on top, so the camera can get a better angle. either or will work fine. good luck

    These are briquettes,they last longer as normal charcoal but it takes a crazy long time to get them properly heated. I tend to use normal charcoal with these little wooden blocks that u set on fire,much easier and faster.

    burn a bunch of dry sticks or twigs on top of the charcoal and your set also gets rid of all the grease on the grate

    When I was a kid my friends and I would light pinecones on fire and throw them at each other. luckily no one got burned (badly, at least) and we didnt burn the forest down

    How did you get the charcoal in the bed?

      is best to start in the grill and then once they are lit just add charcoal from bag on top of lit charcoal. if not starting on the grill , once two or three are lit, you can use metal tongs to place them on top of you're charcoal bed , always been caution. good luck 👍😊

      you can do a few or even the whole batch at a time. you can easily burn the first few and from there you can keep adding more as they light up as desired. good luck. hope this helps. thanks for the comment. 👍😊

      No its a fir and smokes waaayyy to much but its fine to start the coals with. You can burn it in and outdoor fire but cant eat over it
