- The Langkawi archipelago is located off the west coast of mainland Malaysia. This cluster in the Andaman Sea consists of 99 islands, and only 4 are inhabited. The main Langkawi island is easily accessible by plane or ferry and it’s the most popular one to visit. It’s also the largest island and has a ton to offer.
10. Visit Sandy Skulls Beach & Temurun Falls
Located at the northern coastline, Sandy Skulls Beach (Pantai Tengkorak) is a true local favorite. It’s a beautiful secluded beach with soft white sands, shallow waters for swimming, and forested trees for shade.
When you’re in the area, it’s also worth making the 5-minute drive to nearby Temurun Falls, the tallest waterfall on the island.
9. Eat At The Night Market
When the night falls, the markets open their doors. You can find a market at any day of the week on Langkawi, but the location changes each day. We visited the Temoyong Night Market near Cenang Beach on Thursday.
8. Relax At Cenang Beach
Cenang beach is the most popular and beloved beach on the island, with lots of activities and tourist facilities right at your fingertips. Try jet skiing or paragliding or simply relax at a beach bar.

7. Visit Laman Padi + Museum
Another fun thing to do in Cenang is to visit the rice fields. At the time of our visit, it was free to enter.
6. Langkawi Cable Car & Sky Bridge
One of the most popular activities on Langkawi is to take the cable car to the top of Machincang mountain. The summit sits at an elevation of 708 meters or 2322 feet, providing spectacular views of the surrounding islands and rainforests. There is also a suspension bridge that you can access for a small fee. The cable car leaves from the Oriental Village, but be aware that there might be long lines.
5. Visit the 3D Art in Paradise Museum
The museum houses over 100 different three-dimensional artworks that are divided up into 9 zones and themes. It’s a great activity on a rainy day or to combine with a visit to the cable car.
4. Hike To The Telaga Tujuh Waterfall
Near the Oriental Village, you’ll find the Seven Wells Waterfall, which are widely considered to be the most impressive falls on Langkawi. To get here, you can hike up stairs through a rainforest.
3. Cruise The Kilim Geoforest Park
Langkawi’s northeast coastline is covered with a dense mangrove forest, which has been protected under UNESCO since 2007. Officially named the Kilim Geoforest Park, this natural area can only be visited by taking a boat tour. Most tours last 2 to 3 hours and take you around the swamp, limestone formations, rugged caves, and areas of forested lands.

2. Relax At Tanjung Rhu Beach
One of the most scenic beaches in Langkawi is called Tanjung Rhu beach, which lies at the edge of the Geoforest Park in the north of the island. Due to its slightly hidden location, you will find clean white sands and few crowds here.
1. Drive To Langkawi’s Tallest Peak (Gunung Raya)
Gunung Raya sits at 881 meters or 2890 feet and offers beautiful views of the island and sea. But even better than the view is the actual drive itself. Winding through the primary rainforest, you can spot many animals here.

One of d most popular attractions in Langkawi is its duty free island status, so some products like chocolate, tobacco, beer n liquor r much cheaper from d mainland. I've visited Langkawi 3 times, but haven't done few things like d exploration at d Geopark, visiting d observation Maha Tower in d town, Kuah, n cruise on a yacht around d main island. Glad to see that u guys have had a good time in Langkawi.

I hope all the foreigners who are planning to come to Langkawi can be sensitive about the dress culture of the Malay community and do some research before arriving. We welcome tourists but please also respect our culture.
You are SPOT ON on the top 10. Also try the pregnant maiden lake. Now there is one of the biggest aerospace exhibition in langkawi called LIMA. Countries from the entire world participate but some have to be turned down due to limited space. Ships, fighter planes, helicopters, sub, weapons are on display.

Definitely a nice place for a honeymoon... very relaxed. I think 5 days is fine... unless you want lots of time at the beach, you can stay maybe a week

Best way to get around is by motorbike. You can rent a scooter in Cenang beach. There are many rental shops so just talk to them the day before! It's a quiet island. You can also use Grab to get around. The best hotels are in Cenang. We have links to where we stayed in the description below the video so you can check them out there

We preferred Cenang... it's a bit more central that's why we decided to stay there. It was easy to get to any other place ont the island from there. It's also a bit more touristic so more tourism facilities. But Kuah also offers great accommodation and restaurants... so up to you!

It was easy to rent a bike. Most rentals were located in Cenang. We just needed to show our driver’s licence (not an international one). They seem to be more relaxed on the island…

How did you get to Langkawi? And where from?
We got there by ferry from Koh Lipe (Thailand). After, we flew to George Town in Penang as there was no ferry connection anymore there. But we heard that you can take a ferry to the mainland

We visited in March and had wonderful weather… generally the best time is between November and April but with climate changing it’s been more unpredictable the last years. Winds begin to pick up in May, and there's more chance of thunderstorms, but it’s also possible that you’ll have lovely weather!

Hi, does Grab operate in Langkawi? What more places would you suggest to visit must in malaysia?
Yea Grab operates in Langkawi! It can take a bit of time sometimes before you find one. But we got around all fine! And definitely Cameron Highlands, the national parks (Taman Negara if you only stay on the pensinula, otherwise there are better parks in Sabah and Serawak). We also liked Penang, KL, and there are other small islands like Tioman and Perhentian.

How long you guys recommend to stay in Langkawi?
We stayed for 5 days and that was enough time to experience all the island has to offer! Could stay 3 days if you plan to visit more places in the country

Every year is different, but October is technically still raining season there... usually rain is heaviest in September and October

In Langkawi it didn't seem to matter that much... the police stopped us but they didn't say anything (we're in the same situation like you)

Yes you can and we highly recommend doing so! Langkawi is pretty quiet overall so not too much traffic to worry about.

Two completely different destinations… langkawi is a chill, relatively small, and laid back island. There’s some things to do but not too much. Bali is bigger and has way more tourists, a bustling nightlife, and more activities and temples.

Krabi is Love 😻 beaches in Krabi Thailand are the best and beautiful.
For non Muslims, just be careful while outside: do not wear shorts and any clothing that reveals your arms or thighs. Also alcohol is a no no. You might be subject to fines and imprisonment.
We were wearing shorts all fine! It's a pretty free island
If you want to wear bikini, go somewhere else.
Maybe it's not Langkawi that got tsunami, maybe somewhere else? Wrong information maker to become in education history?
Maybe it's a plot expression to bomb Langkawi? Impossible that Langkawi will get tsunami? Maybe a kind of like communist story(under pathway hill, bush, like bandits) but under water and jump to invade kind of plot? Nice environment, good scenery. Quite clean. But worst for beach hangout. Overall, overrated. Boring. Prices freaking expensive too despite of poor entertainment & services. Not recommended for beach tourism.👎👎

I’m local and I’m going there. Just because there’s a price hike which is evident everywhere due to inflation, doesn’t mean “no one is going there” it’s probably just you and the people you hang out with.
