We as Malaysians don't mind if Bali or Thailand get all the attention from tourists, backpackers, digital nomads, party goers etc. We like our islands, beaches and nature spots to remain under the radar to avoid over-tourism, over-commercialised and attracting trouble makers.
Malaysian culture is so different (in a very good way) that I don't think it would attract that kind of crowd. There were definitely many tourists when we were there, but not the kind of crowd you see in Thailand and Bali. Malaysia is the perfect destination for families 👍 Generally speaking, most people who travel with their kids are respectful of the places and cultures they visit and are eager to learn. I hope you don't mind that we fell in love with Malaysia 😍

Enjoy your stay in Malaysia and do go to other parts as well such as Penang Island, Ipoh, Melaka, Terengganu, Kelantan and Borneo (Sarawak & Sabah). U will see stark contrast from just Kuala Lumpur.

Tropical islands with crystal clear water rich with corals n fish for snorkeling n scuba diving in Malaysia are at the east coast like Pulau Perhentian. But Langkawi got many attractions, activities very suitable for family funs.

Actually the more pristine white sandy beaches is located at Tanjung Rhu. That's where most of the 5 star resorts are located. Maybe you should bring your family there for a day trip to enjoy the beach and some local street foods there!😊

going to langkawi on a ferry is another different experience you guys should try it next time. however im not sure if you can board it by foot tho. bcs my family always go there using our cars and we loved it everytime we go by ferry hehe. maybe you guys need to rent a car or something but i definitely recommend you guys to try to experience it :)

Unfortunately, we did not keep track of the name of the tour agency we went with, but if you walk along Jalan Pantai Cenang (the main walking street), you will find many tour agencies, and most of them offer this boat tour. Just make sure to look up reviews before choosing an agency. Hope this helps!

No, we didn't ask the captain to wait for us. We don't want to be annoying RUclipsrs and we don't want our filming to interrupt other people's experience, so we have to be creative sometimes. The shots of the boat were actually of a different boat that looks the same as ours and was traveling in the same areas we went through 😉

Been to Bali and Spain recently unfortunately the well-known places re experiencing over-tourism overcrowded causing the locals to be unhappy .. while most tourists destinations in Malaysia are definitely suitable for females and family travellers... Even good for a long stay.. to raise a decent family with a fairly good education system.. advanced medical facilities.. 😅
It's sad when over-tourism happens because it takes away from the natural and authentic charm of a place. This is why we love Malaysia. It's a naturally beautiful place with an amazing culture, excellent food, and even though it's developed, it remains authentic and real. We cannot wait to come back to explore more 😍
Fun fact, the island was cursed you know 😂There's a legend of Mahsuri, a girl being falsely accused of adultery and being executed. It is all because of land grabbing and politics (similar to witch-hunting in the west). Before she died, she curses the island for 7 generations. The island becomes dull and void. The cursed lifted in the 80s when the island developed and become tourist attraction. But you can see the alleged evidence of the curse, the black sand on the beach at some areas. If you're a sensitive person, you also can "sense' it. You can visit Mahsuri grave; she's a real person. There are other legends on the island.
@@thetraveling3 My country has a lot of myths and legends, some have truth in it, the rest are mystery. For example, if you travel in Kedah, the place is actually named after an event where a vampire king threw away his fangs. The king accidentally becomes a vampire after eating a spinach contaminated with the cook's blood who injured herself while cutting it. When the king knew why the spinach taste so good, he demands to put blood in every meal he ate. Later it is not enough, he grew fangs, he started to execute prisoners and then the people just to drink their blood. The people rebel eventually, the king run away from the castle realizing that he has become a vampire. He pulls his fangs and throws them away, the place called "baling" which means "throw". The legend also explains why some spinaches are red in color. 😁
What did you xpect when west malaysian coastline are mainly muddy mangroves swamp, and the straits of malacca is one of the busiest nautical route in the world with many ships sailing through... But there are several beaches that have clear waters north of the islands as it borders the Andaman Sea...
Yes, we did mention that 😊 Nevertheless, Langkawi has soooo much to offer, and there are actually beaches where the water is clear. More to come next week 😊
Interesting. In 2023 they tried to do this, but when we were there in October 2024 there were still bars and no one ever mentioned anything about swimsuits.

Been to Bali and Spain recently unfortunately the well-known places re experiencing over-tourism overcrowded causing the locals to be unhappy
.. while most tourists destinations in Malaysia are definitely suitable for females and family travellers... Even good for a long stay.. to raise a decent family with a fairly good education system.. advanced medical facilities.. 😅
It's sad when over-tourism happens because it takes away from the natural and authentic charm of a place. This is why we love Malaysia. It's a naturally beautiful place with an amazing culture, excellent food, and even though it's developed, it remains authentic and real. We cannot wait to come back to explore more 😍

Fun fact, the island was cursed you know 😂There's a legend of Mahsuri, a girl being falsely accused of adultery and being executed. It is all because of land grabbing and politics (similar to witch-hunting in the west). Before she died, she curses the island for 7 generations. The island becomes dull and void. The cursed lifted in the 80s when the island developed and become tourist attraction. But you can see the alleged evidence of the curse, the black sand on the beach at some areas. If you're a sensitive person, you also can "sense' it. You can visit Mahsuri grave; she's a real person. There are other legends on the island.

@@thetraveling3 My country has a lot of myths and legends, some have truth in it, the rest are mystery. For example, if you travel in Kedah, the place is actually named after an event where a vampire king threw away his fangs. The king accidentally becomes a vampire after eating a spinach contaminated with the cook's blood who injured herself while cutting it. When the king knew why the spinach taste so good, he demands to put blood in every meal he ate. Later it is not enough, he grew fangs, he started to execute prisoners and then the people just to drink their blood. The people rebel eventually, the king run away from the castle realizing that he has become a vampire. He pulls his fangs and throws them away, the place called "baling" which means "throw". The legend also explains why some spinaches are red in color. 😁

What did you xpect when west malaysian coastline are mainly muddy mangroves swamp, and the straits of malacca is one of the busiest nautical route in the world with many ships sailing through...
But there are several beaches that have clear waters north of the islands as it borders the Andaman Sea...
Yes, we did mention that 😊 Nevertheless, Langkawi has soooo much to offer, and there are actually beaches where the water is clear. More to come next week 😊

Soon you cannot wear bikini or drink liquor in Langkawi because of PAS.
Interesting. In 2023 they tried to do this, but when we were there in October 2024 there were still bars and no one ever mentioned anything about swimsuits.
Langkawi is a hidden gem.
