That's both my plans to ride. I wanna get s first bike and even tho MX bikes look and sound awesome 40ft table jumps are scary. I reckon if I find a decent WR250 or maybe a YZ125 I'll be happy riding in the styles you described. I just want to explore paths and maybe Hoon a bit at the track or makeshift motocross alike single tracks.
Old dirt roads that have tracks from pickups can be the best. There are a few areas I ride where the roads have lots of turns and elevation changes. Roads like that with a pair of big-bore vintage 2-strokes going full honk is unbelievable.
Nice rip man! I’ve never raced a day in my life... was gunna make my debut this year😂 but it’s not looking to good anymore... I love riding my dirtbike so I’m up for any excuse to go for a rip. My fav rides are probably the sand pits after a rain.. rip in a lil turn track. Out here our dirtbike tracks are shit. There’s one track 2 hours away that’s open all the time and can camp there. But other than that there’s a hard pack track that’s only open race weekends and a private track I rode at got shut down. It was like the best training track. Sad days. But riding a track is the best I would say. Just wish we had more up here. I also ride in the bush out at my camp... logging roads and some trails. Thinking of making a single track circuit with some jumps this summer✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
I love dual sport riding because it enables me to walk out my front door and then ride all the way across town on what most people believe is a dirt bike that is not a street-legal so I get tons of looks especially from girls and then I get to go to my track and ride all day out in the woods on the mountain
XC gncc style woods racing/riding is my favorite cause that’s how we grew up riding what we had good or bad there’s no track maintenance it’s not groomed it’s just raw riding you and your bike against nature and the elements.
I’ve been riding with my 11 year old grandson there. He is still getting up his nerve to go faster. I bought him a klx-140r and I’m on a klx 250 duel sport. Charles City Riders is great fun.

Used to race hare scrambles and loved woods and enduro riding with some occasional motocross which I'm trying to bet better at. Havent found a place to ride on the east coast yet.
@Benjimoto check out GTR complex in Gastonia outside of Columbia. It would be a little ride from Charleston but they have several tracks and tons of trails from wider atv trails to super tight single track.
I recently have started riding ,y first dirt bike with a hydraulic disc front brake and i have caused myself to wreck countless times from pulling too much front brake. I have made sure to teach myself to cover the rear brake before turns.
I like both the Track and Trail riding equally. I do not race yet, but would like to get in to that. I started riding late though. I mean I did it off and on with other people's bikes. But didn't actually get in to it, and buy my own bike till I was 36 years old. In fact I just got my own bike till the beginning of this month. But have been riding all this summer on my best friends bike. I got myself a little Kayo k2 230. And am loving every single minute of it.
Trail rider that has went to 1 sprint enduro and planning to do much more cross country and enduro racing as I have time. I am too old, too fat and too broken to do big jumps on motocross tracks.

I usually ride motocross and don't need hand guards but I do have a set sitting in the garage. The way I have to mount them forces me to move my levers to an uncomfortable position so I haven't used them recently.

Thinking of getting the new kx250 as ive always wanted a Kawi and a real mx bike but I mostly ride on trails(Alberta Canada) do you think the bike would handle alot of trail riding well? especially if i soften the suspension up? or do you think its a bad idea to get this bike for what im mostly going to ride on?
What 250 or 450 do you think would be best for like rough gas company roads with a jump of ruts and loose rocks (those are mostly all the trails I know about near me) any suggestions on which bike would be best
Hey man just swapped to these bars and love them Pro Taper EVO SX Race bend with pro taper 1 1/8 bar mounts. The sweep is lower and overall feels wayyy better to me than the stock renthal bar. I'm 6'3 so the bar mounts added some extra height to the bars also which feels good to me. Bar pad not sure what it's called I just picked the green pro taper bar pad
Is that the same as bob'sbike Barn over there next to Shirley Plantation it's near a big bridge can't remember to the Steel Bridge bud I was just trying to figure out where that place was I lived in Charles City for a minute I used to just ride in my yard I made some Trails you know through that way through the power lines
I want one but I can't get one because I don't have enough and my parents won't get me one and if I did get one my friends in my neighborhood will ask to ride all day and might fall of and break it plus they would call me spoiled
you should try going fast and looking more foward to see what’s coming up so you can have speed to pull in the clutch around a corner. it helps with stalling

andrew vibert don’t get an rmz, or crf. Rmz handles and delivers power poorly and the CRFs 250 are meh. YZ and KX have the best 250’s and best prices

Dont you have adjustable air shocks? Just drop it down 1 or 2 psi and it will be a little softer !
Nah my 2020 has the KYB suspension. I could've just played with the clickers, as I have the bike set up for MX, but I didn't haha.

Do u have your suspension set up or did you get it revalved? Or is it still stock
Suspension is stock but I have adjusted the compression and rebound on the forks and shock. Little adjustments go a long way!
