  • We went up to do some single track riding on Luke's new 2022 CRF250r on a day with perfect conditions. The bike has been great and for an MX bike has turned out to be a great woods bike without any modification. The only thing we would change about it for woods is the suspension is a bit stiff but this does allow for great performance in the higher speed areas.

I noticed your description talking about suspension being stiff for woods riding. Have you bottomed out the adjustments and tried that?

He hasn’t really played with it much. He keeps talking about making adjustments but then leaving it 😂

How do the 250r’s go, I like riding trails on mine but I fear that I’m going to slow and it’s not getting fed enough air to cool down

We haven’t had any problems with overheating in any situations other than more hard enduro type riding (basically pushing it and riding the clutch). As long as it’s able to stretch its legs even a little we haven’t had it overheat even when riding in 90-100 degree weather

Does the crf250r like to stall on tight trails I rode a rmz250 and it never stopped stalling. Thanks

The 2022 is better for this than the 2016 but still does tend to stall fairly easily. One thing that I’ve noticed helps prevent stalling in tight trails on both bikes is putting them in the more mellow mapping mode.

    So question… crf250r or kx250f?? 🤔
They’re both around 8,500 at my local dealership but idk which one to choose

That’s a tough one, as someone who has always ridden Honda I would point you to the red but both bikes would perform really well. There are shootouts on RUclips where riders compare them but this is always for motocross and will be different for woods riding. You can’t go wrong either way though.
