Curious why you'd go with the R motocross model instead of the RX cross-country bike. On this ride you are doing some good single track and not high speed stuff, but maybe you have other riding areas where you need the MX features as opposed to the RX features?

This was partially due to availability as we were barely able to get this bike and have not had any RX models available near us. Also we wanted to keep the weight of the bike as light as possible so the smaller titanium tank is nice. I would love to try an RX model in the future. I’ve heard the suspension is very well set up for gncc type riding

      @@all4fun7 you should try the 250 f

@@travisplett8204 I haven’t had an opportunity to ride one yet but I owned its predecessor the CRF230f. I believe they’re very similar, it’s nothing like the 250r or RX, it has a steel frame and an old style 4-stroke power plant but that being said the bike is super capable. The power never gets away from you yet it will tractor over just about anything. It’s a much easier bike to ride than the more race ready bikes. It does feel quite heavy though for the amount of power it delivers but it will be much less prone to stalling in technical sections and the plush suspension makes the ride much less harsh and allows for good traction in rocks or tree roots, although when ridden aggressively it will bottom out. The big drawback for me at 6’1” is that the cockpit felt very cramped being a little smaller. Although shorter riders will very much enjoy the lower seat height. With the new 250f the bike is fuel injected and slightly higher in cc’s so it should deliver a bit more power while still not reaching the R or RX levels. Great bikes, they just serve a slightly different purpose. I would love an opportunity to ride the new 250f. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Thanks for the vid. Just curious, and because I see your doing some lower speed single track, how useful is Map 2 in your opinion? Helpful in the lower speed riding? Big difference between that and the other maps? You mostly never hear of anyone talking about it, mostly I guess because its not very useful for moto, but maybe for your type of riding? I have a 2023 coming in next month, so anxious to get my hands on it.

That’s awesome they’re super fun bikes! What I notice with map two is that it allows you to lug the bike a little more before it stalls. The power delivery in mode two is noticeably weaker than 3. I have found it to be super useful in the very tight technical sections where stalling is a possibility.

So far we haven’t had any issues with the bike at all, they require regular maintenance being the race bikes but seem to hold up very well!
