If you look at Ilford's official Flickr page, they state: "Please add only photos taken with Ilford film and/or Ilford cameras. Please, no films made by Ilford but branded differently, such as Fujifilm Acros II or Kentmere films.". So even Ilford acknowledges that they make Acros II.

Price per roll is not that high at around 300TH฿ (10US$) and it's cheaper than Lomography color negative in my country. I shoot a lot of Acros. I miss not having it for sheet film, but I use it regularly for medium format. But, that's because I do night photography for about 50% of my stuff. Acros stands apart in terms of its reciprocity as you point out. To balance the cost, I use FP4 for daylight shooting and Acros for night shooting. They're different, as you say, but so close to my eye that I haven't had a strong reason to use Acros for all of my B&W shooting. So, it ends up being a compromise. For sheet film at night, I'm mostly sticking with TMAX 100. Suffers a bit more in reciprocity than Acros, but still seems to hold its own compared to FP4 or Delta 100.

I wish they could bring back the 1600 neopan! Man, that was my favourite. Anyways, the last industry rumor I've heard is that the raw materials are still made by Fujifilm (which are new, as Fuji had to change the process in its entirety) but Ilford is somehow involved in the manufacturing process. The 'how' part is where things go a bit unclear. I think Ilford stated on their Twitter that they're not 'packaging' films nor producing Ilford films for other manufacturers. So it must be something in-between. Of course if there's something between the two companies that's most likely under some kind of confidentiality agreement. But I agree with the points made in your video: it doesn't matter. Is it as good as a film as it was before? Of coure it is! A bit pricey though - as it was in the past as well.

One of the films used to photograph, in 120 format, my parents wedding in 1993 was this one.

    • @SachAlvarez

The so called claim by Ilford that was shown in the video.....yeah sure we don’t put an ILFORD product in another companies box..... but what was the question they were asked...? ask them do you or any Ilford/harmann subsidiary make films for other companies?? It is obvious they are avoiding the answer...
Ilford is the ONLY B&W film manufacturer in the UK and they would.....for the right quantity.....and right amount of money......make a film batch to a certain recipe.....they would have also sign confidentiality clauses that means they cannot confirm they make for FujiDogital (please do not call them Fuji film....they are NOT)....

Nikon and Canon , in particular Nikon were the top film camera manufacturers and can with a flick of a finger go back to doing so. I support Ilford because they kept on producing high quality films which were and are affordable. Kodak has become very very expensive. What I used to pay for a box of 25 is now for a box of 10, 4x5 I am talking about. Ilford is the way to go for me. They stood by film and we should stand by them. The hell with Fuji and Sony.

We estimate we have stock for the next 2 years....but in the mean time we have been successful in arranging for a new production for a product we will be calling Acros II....it will share the same wonder benefits of Acros original....we estimate this will be available in the next 12 months. During this time both versions will be available for our VALUED custom terms to experience both products. Due to production capacity issues (or actual truthful reason...that Fuji digital no longer has film production lines.....shhhh secret) we have partnered with Ilford UK who is world renowned for B&W film production- they are producing AcrosII to our formula and will be the exclusive manufacturer moving forward.......
See that how you make an announce you friggin morons at Fuji digital..... be HONEST.....tell the truth....don’t treat cusomters like morons that you are....

Honestly I should be President for Fuji Digital.....or at least the world outside Japan. They can keep their usual lies they give domestic japan.....oh yes honour and respect.....we do that with lies and deceit. But the rest of the world operates with honesty and transparency......gaining the trust in customers....

I was disappointed in Acros II, the film is much thinner then the original. This makes it a pain to get on a film reel, it likes to jam about 2/3 on the reel and good luck starting over it just jams worst. Also it's a pain to scan, I found it curls much more then the original. I wasn't impressed with the results and it's way over priced, it reminds me of Ultrafine Extreme 100. So if you are looking for an over priced film just one step above a student film go for it.
