You know, there's a very out there and far from perfect explanation for the supposed iron sand clone being colored.
If you heat up iron to high enough temperatures and then let it cool back down again, it takes on certain colours, depending on how hot it got beforehand. It still looks metallically shiny of course, so that's still a flaw in that theory.
Also, I don't know if the required temperatures for that would exceed the Curie temperature of iron.

Fun fact in one of the black boxes they actually said despite the statements that her Railgun is Mach 3, it has feats that contradict that, both in its destructive power for a projectile its size and it catching up to Hypersonic objects that she logically out speed it (The example they used was a Missile.)

@@AeonofHorus Plus her and Misaki rebuilt the AAA after the Heat Wave so they can do so again.
I honestly think the research crew didn't actually binge read a bunch of Novels and Manga just for this episode out of lots in their pipeline.
In an earlier Livestream Q&A many years ago, when they saw Accelerator vs Magneto was one of their most highest rated suggestions on their latest poll, they were like "Who?"
So they probably just went through scans and forum posts and from that would assume the AAA was a "special occasion" type of equipment and not part of her normal power set.
To be frank I don't think it'd make a difference, Misaka can't really use the Magick part of the AAA so for her it'd just be more Dakka, which either can't hit Killua or if it does hit him, he'd be harmed without the Magick properties anyway.

And they were very liberal with Misaka in scaling her to Brundhild.
I think they just wanted to give the more highend and a lowend for each character for arguments sake.

2:42 this is correct, it was confirmed in the voiceover episode

Not really. In Toaru, characters can convert their life force into mana to fuel a magic spell while also existing naturally in the environment. There's no "leyline" equivalent in HxH that generate Nen from constellations or coastal positions.
Meanwhile, Nen is simply the name for the technique of using life force directly. Their life force is the magic itself, Hisoka's having the properties of both rubber and gum. And since Nen is tied heavily on conscious beings, it incorporates emotion to the whole thing. This allows things like Pitou's ability to remain after death possible, which is not how magic work in Toaru.

Which is funny because a Hunter's Association (a band of mercenary magicians unaffiliated to any organization) might actually exist in Toaru. And DB could've just twisted the narrative into Killua being given a mission to neutralize a Level 5 esper from the very secretive Academy City instead of that dumb reason why they fought.

Great review. I agree with all points. I really did not like the creative liberties that were taken, I am a purist at heart, but I did find it enjoyable and popcorn watching worthy. Killua is not in the same league as Misaka. They are on totally different power scales to be fair. Killua is amazing in HunterxHunter, but there is just to huge a difference between the two. With that being said, Killua would have ended the fight immediately an ripped out her heart if he had made physical contact with Misaka. He is a brutal efficient killer and would have also judged immediately due to his experience that she needed to be put down then and there. He would not have just hit her rolled with it.
On the flip side, the arsenal of Misaka and power creep she has would have made it no match at all past the initial engagement. She has to many abilities and powers that she can pull out and completely destroy Killua before he got any further. Even comparing there power scale it screams outmatched at every point. They are both experienced fighters, with Killua a pro killer and fighter and Misaka a pro fighter dealing with life and death all the time also and using her intelligence to and extreme problem solving level all the time.
I got a bit of hang up on the ending. They could have ended it a lot better instead of the way they concluded it. As side note, Killua is an assassin, he would beat her most every time in an assassination job. But this is a straight up fight. Not the same thing in the slightest. Dragged out fights are definitely Misaka's forte. Over all, well worth the watch and the characters were done reasonably well with Misaka in the laws of averages winning in the end most of the time over Killua in full on fights, not assassination attempts.

As long as the things they do aren’t super out of left field I’m ok with it not being something the characters have actually done before hence why the sand clone didn’t bother me. Edit: DB Cast has seemingly revealed that Mikoto intentionally collapsed the kaiju in order to set up the decoy trap for Killua (so it wasn’t actually Killua’s doing). So I guess it’s fine.

Was the kind of fight where I knew they would make Killua at its best just to make this entertaining, and they did. Mistake is the kind of character who puts effort on not killing, so even without the plot at her side, she was clearly overpowering Killua in majority of specs. The decoy thing was just a "fast ending". Killua's Nen is vast for his world level, but inferior to Misaka's limit, so even if the fight didn't ended there, Killua had seconds left with Kamuru and Misaka had all the iron sand left on the field.

Regarding the little detail of Misaka's real body escaping inconspicuously from the Kaiju disruption, that can easily been explained as her going back to the ground while hiding in a denser part of the cloud of iron sand. Leaving a decoy behind helped prevent Killua from searching for the real body. Decoy which was then used as a kind of iron maiden so he both takes immediate damage and can't avoid the last railgun.
The escape and decoy strategy is also the likely reason not to reform the kaiju. He has proved to be ineffective, so might as well use the remains for a different approach.
This whole section of the fight demonstrates the multiple purposes of each technique.
And this illustrates Misaka's approach to fights in her original work, creativity and versatility behind the main advantages of her abilities. The DB team managed to showcase this point while only relying on techniques that the manga had already demonstrated.

You mentioned before that you want Accelerator to be featured in Death Battle. Who do you want him to fight?
HxH is much more grounded shounen than others of the same genre and so the characters arent' stronger than city block level with some exceptions like Meruem.
The fight would have been more balanced if they had taken a character from YuYu Hakushou, the series made before HxH by the same author Togashi. There even at the start the main characters have light speed reactions.

If they actually took the liberty to add Nen to this fight it would be one sided. All Killua would have to do is place a vow on himself to create a new ability to seal Misaka's abilites or grant himself 30+ years of more power/nen. Nen is such a rule breaker which is probably why they didn't add it.

The paralysis move is fear perseveration rather than an attack or mind control on someone’s nervous system. So technically Killua would affect Misaka.
Depending on how much electricity is produced if Killua has a strong enough power that can overpower the iron sand insane regeneration, I don’t know if Killua can overpower it. Unless if it is heat base and sheer willpower then that’s different. Also forming the Kaiju takes up a lot of pressure and will tired her.
Okay now I will say, I didn’t know in the manga she can make a decoy of herself with iron sand. However how did she have the time to make decoy when making the Kaiju, like she’s never done that. She can’t do two things that take up a lot of iron sand at the same time. Also most importantly I refuse to believe she can literally use the iron sand to make a literally replica heart, there’s no way she can make it that accurate.
    Oh well it’s death battle

    • @mystictomato9466

She didn’t get tired of making the iron sand kaiju when she did it in her own show though, plus making a small decoy out of all that iron sand would be easy for her, she can do both at the same time, why not?

      @mystictomato9466 Год назад +3

@@ryanrodriguez2498 You are right that she can’t make a realistic looking heart out of the iron sand, I had an issue with that too. You’re wrong about her being tired though. The reason why she was tired against Accelerator is because for a week or so (right before their fight) she destroyed dozens of labs and fought multiple other espers, she didn’t eat or sleep much during that time either which added up. She also wasn’t exactly tired against Accelerator, she was just shocked that he shrugged off her attacks with no effort. Her fights in Railgun and the light novels show that she has great stamina and can fight strong people for long amounts of time.

We haven't had a fair matchup since 18 episodes ago.
And even then the animation was accurate because both of those characters were stated to move faster than speed itself so the fight should never get to 2 or 3 minutes.
Using that as excuse to say "death battle should do different episodes" is missing the point.
When you watch fictional characters in a crossover you want to see them be fictional characters. Matching the portrayal of the character comes first.
because when you really break it down the populous enjoys Death Battle for getting the characters right within the rules in place instead of getting the numbers right within the rules in place. If you don't believe me. Pick a random group episodes and look up a review for it. You're almost guaranteed a debunk video talking about what numbers they got wrong then you maybe might find something that talks about the characterization like Aeon of Horus does here. Not to say you won't find anything like that, but it's just a lot rarer of a complaint.
