When we talk about great casting, Willem Dafoe as The Green Goblin must be of the best. The very top as a Marvel villain and one of the greatest villains of all time specially in this particular movie.
With Great Power comes with great responsibility comes with the lesson that Spiderman needs to become the hero and not the villian. They use it perfectly in this.

In one move, Tom Holland's Spider-Man goes from the most blessed to the most cursed Spidey. Like his mentor, Tony Stark, Peter sacrificed everything in order to save the world. The big difference is Peter has to live with the consequences. I would watch a movie with Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield working together for two hours.
Peter wanted the world to forget him being Spiderman, but wasn't willing to make that sacrifice. He wanted the best of both world. Sometime being a hero means letting the people you love go, if it means it protecting them.
I think Doctor Strange didn’t clarify the spell or ask enough questions because he’s used to relying on himself to fill in the gaps and Peter didn’t think about the consequences or necessary information. So I think the issue is miscommunication between them both and everything would have been fine if Doctor Strange knew all the information ahead of time
Although I was disappointed we never got to see the Kraven-Spidey movie they originally had for this. I was excited to see how Spidey proved his innocence for murder while on the run. It was great they were able to use the multiverse theme to clean up some of the loose threads from the previous Spidey movies. Especially when Garfield’s Spider-man saves MJ. Great moment there.
lol it kills me everyone immediately gets scared that Ned & MJ got together after they forgot Peter 🤣 Peter was the reason they were really close friends so without him they are still really good friends they just don’t know why lol
The fact that Sony and Marvel cooperated enough for this movie to happen was mind blowing. Brining the Sony Spider-verse into the MCU was huge. How come he can do that? His spidey-senses were still going off. You can see the wavy lines around his head. Why would you think MJ and Ned were together? wtf? They didn't forget a villain. None of them know of the Tom Hardy Venom.
14:08 - not I. The spell was based on what *Peter wanted* and *Peter* kept changing it over and over again, literally seconds after the other. That's like you blaming a waiter for a "wrong order" that was a result of you being indecisive and not properly communicating what you wanted.
Nah. More like having a steak listed as "steak" on the menu then having the waiter walk away after saying you like steak. Waiter brings it back with a whole bunch of extra shit on it and you get angry for the waiter not explaining the alterations. Strange started casting the spell without explaining how it worked, then got upset that Peter wanted changes.
You can just TELL that this girl is a narcissist. She instantly put herself in Peter's shoes and while he was clearly at fault, she sided with him, almost like she was refusing to admit he was wrong, and by extension, she was wrong.
It was Dr Strange fault they weren't running out of time no one was after them they had plenty of time to discuss how the spell would work and confirm with Peter if he was happy, you don't go starting a spell which will cause life changing effects without first discussing.
I don't know. Strange could've also asked if Peter had a list of people he wanted to remember before starting the spell in the first place. None of them thought about it beforehand, despite Strange knowing he could design it that way.
Are we watching the same movie. Peter asked for everyone to forget. After Strange started the spell, Peter kept adding to it and changing the parameters . For a scientific genius, that was petty dumb. It wasn't Strange's fault he attempted to do exactly what peter asked.
Sure for a scientist, but as a *Doctor* Strange should know not to start an operation without the patient's *informed* consent. Explain the procedure and the possible outcomes before hand. He waited until he already started to explain the parameters to Peter. Peter's a highschool kid (not actually a scientist yet), Strange is a grown adult neuorsurgeon. Strange is the one that's supposed to know better. Also, Peter only wanted the people who *Mysterio* revealed his identity to to forget. Strange just said "alright let's make everyone *including me* forget you." The fact that making exceptions was a possible option makes it weird he was gonna make even himself forget to begin with
These movies were literally part of our childhood. Growing up with decades invested in these characters and stories, what they were able to pull of here is pure magic. I've never experienced emotion in a large audience the way we all did in that theater. I will ALWAYS shed tears for Andrew Garfields redemption scene 🤍
Have to disagree about the Strange not being careless thing. He is extremely flippant and careless because he's so good. He thinks he has everything under control. His thing against Dormammu in his own movie worked but was extremely careless. He gambled the stability of spacetime on that move
It wasn't Dr. Strange's fault. Peter wanted "everyone" to forget he was Spiderman. Dr. Strange was doing what he wanted. Peter's the one that botched it.
Dr Strange started casting the spell before telling Peter how it worked. Then got angry at Peter for asking to make changes. Strange should have explained the spell before casting it. Strange's fault 100%. You don't start doing something without explaining it to the person you're doing it to. You also don't get angry at someone for not knowing how something works without explanation.
@ "make everyone forget I am Spider-Man". Have we gone to different schools and colleges that "everyone" means something entirely different in your environment? Yes, Strange could have warned him beforehand. His mistake was believing Parker was a mature guy, knowing this from sharing the time with him on the battlefield.
The single greatest part of this movie is watching Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man get a little redemption by saving MJ after he didn’t save Gwen. The audience in the theater I was in cheered at that moment, it was great!
13:45 I dunno, his whole Marvel story literally started with him being reckless. Remember him trying to read a patient file while driving like 80 mph on a winding road at night??
When the movie was coming out I was on vacation in Florida. The day it came out I begged my parents to go to the movies. (They were gonna wait till we were back home to watch the movie cause we were on vacation). But I BEGGED(with help from my older siblings) We got to the movies early that day it came out and it was all sold out. The whole theater was ONLY showing Spider-Man. The theater was HUGE upstairs and downstairs and it was sold out. So we came back a few days later. We got the last seats. The theater was PACKED. Mostly adults ofc. It sounded like a concert. It was so loud you couldn’t hear the movie. Screams every time the Spider-Man’s were shown or the villains were shown. Or the special guests (daredevil and venom). LOUD. I never experienced a movie like that before it was gold. I’ll never forget it. Genuinely amazing.
Kristen stays killing me with those jump scares lmfaooo Also, great job on picking up that Dr. Strange would NEVER have made that spell for Peter. Guys, she’s one of us.
Remember that part in Doctor Strange where he fucks about with the Time Stone on an apple, for no other reason than to satisfy his own curiosity and see if he could work it properly... yeah, Strange absolutely WOULD do that spell. Especially because, much like Strange had to learn in that same movie, Peter knows that what he's asking for isn't about him, it's about innocent people that (as far as both he and Strange know) need help righting a wrong unjustly done to them, and all conventional avenues to fix that have failed.
Dr. Strange is usually a pure pragmatist, but he is still only human. He saw Peter hold his own during the battles against Thanos, and how he defeated Mysterio, so while uncharacteristic of him, it isn't beyond possibility that Strange would have a lapse in judgement due to forgetting that Peter is still just a kid. Plus, he was distracted by his own issues too, like how he is no longer the Sorcerer Supreme, so is dwelling on what his role would be now. Besides, he had faced greater risks, such as bargaining with Dormammu and allowing the Blip to happen because Tony needed to survive to help create time travel, which in itself was also a potentially cataclysmic risk.
That’s not true. Besides really wanting to help Peter, he admitted later that causing people to cross between universes should be impossible. So yes it was still in character for him to attempt the spell.
@@nevin2 the main difference between hob goblin and his green counterpart is that hobgoblin uses magic. Now in the comics I’m not completely sure Ned Leeds uses magic, I believe that’s just the original hobgoblin. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. But as is common in these movies they will combine aspects of multiple versions of the same character since it’s not like we have 500 comic issues to go through lol only 2 hours. Ned Leeds in the comics was actually under hypnosis when he became hobgoblin so it’s gonna be interesting to see how ned comes into this role in the movie
Why does everyone always question which Green Goblin it is? Harry NEVER wore that costume neither was he insane with that laugh or glider!!!! Obviously Norman...jeez....
Did you both miss when Harry found out that Peter is Spiderman who he thought killed his father and was jealous of Peter himself who MJ loves and dressed up like the Green Goblin and basically died the same way like his father??
Fr it bugs me out too. Ik these reactors have lives and I would try to give them the benefit of the doubt if their costumes were even remotely similar which they aren’t. Harry had an all black snowboarding outfit for his costume
The reason why Peter was able to move his suit even after his soul was separated was because the suit was moving itself without Peter, since the suit is made from tech and not cloth.
In the comics, Ned Leeds, becomes the second or third Hobgoblin. The two fought several times with neither knowing the other's identity. Ned is murdered in Germany when the two are on assignment for the Bugle. Peter finds his body and has to first track down the culprit then escape the country. The story is one of the best Spiderman and Wolverine comics. Their fight is epic.
7:18 it was supposed to be a simple harmless spell but Kevin Feige confirmed that event of Loki season 1 caused the multiverse to destabilize Meaning it was already weak and that time, Which is why a small mistake cause such a big reaction.
Never thought I’d her biggest jump scare I’ve ever seen came from a marvel movie 😂 Sam rami you’ve done it again 😂😂😂 Also when Peter was separated from his body… phrasing. It was his spidey senses. Even in that state they can move and react.
I love the fact that they united three different Spider-Man actors from different universes, along with their respective villains. My two favorites being Alfred Molina as Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus and Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborn/Green Goblin. Willem Dafoe has a way of scaring the crap out of you with the way he can flip the personalities of the character so masterfully. One minute, he's talking kindly as Norman, then the Goblin switch goes off and he's terrifying
Being a comic book fan, seeing our 3 boys together was something special and one can tell by their chemistry. How Marvel was able to weave their storylines was amazing.
Spider-Man Gen X, Y and Z Toby and Andrew being able to step right back into their roles after all these years was amazing to watch. (Also, all those passengers on the metro train in Spider-Man 2 that knew who Peter was, were wondering around MCU New York, probably very confused!)
Definitely agree with u, this whole fiasco was Peter's fault. MJ was jus defending her BF. Peter shouldve thought things through when he went to Dr. Strange to have him cast the forget Spiderman spell so the world would forget he was Spiderman. He didn't think things through that it would involve everyone he knows that they would forget, not only that Dr. Strange strictly told Peter to stop talking and tampering with his spell. He was already midcast which he could not stop once he has started.
Reckless, I grant you, but also a very skilled professional surgeon that would absolutely have discussed the effects of the procedure with Peter before performing it had he been in character.
@Caffin8tor have we been watching the same character? Because no. Strange has made underthought, unilateral decisions everytime we have seen him. They have just happened to work out well before, but they so easily could not have.
Her issue with the Multiverse is EXACTLY what keeps and has kept the source material going for over 50 years. The concept of the Multiverse is a foundation of Marvel Comics, so then it will and has to be a large factor of Marvel Films. Same for DC Comics and Films.
You don't know what your talking about. The comics are dead, All New All Different Marvel killed it, and it was because of the big of part the multiverse played. Yes the multiverse was kind of a thing during secret wars, but to make it a major part of every story makes nothing matter. 2099 is a better way to go imo.
I remember the ending made me feel so sad and empty because i imagined being in his place, he’s all alone with no one to depend on, no one remembers him. All he got left is himself, no fancy suits, just him.
Hey Kristen, I agree that Strange is primarily responsible for the screw up. I thought the same thing that he was flying pretty loose with the spell casting. I agree that it was awesome to see all the Spider-Men together, and that they all pulled their wisdom from their successes and failures into the new Spider-Man, and with the powerful lesson from Aunt May I'm really looking forward to what's coming up. LET'S GO!!
@@itsjustcarlos that would be very cool. I honestly already love that montage someone did years ago with gwen's spirit hugging him when he saves MJ. Evey time i see that fan-art it breaks me.
The funny thing about Ned promising not to try and kill him is in the comics, Ned is the Hobgoblin... He no longer has his memory of Peter so perhaps we get a new villain.
For a movie filled to the brim with fanservice, action, and emotional payoffs to years-old set ups, the thing that always impresses me most about this movie is just how damn magnetic and compelling Zendaya is. She steals almost every scene she’s in, imo.
We can all agree that Willem Dafoe is absolutely amazing!

Green Goblin eating punches from Spider-Man while straight cheesing in his face is always freaking chilling.
@@thenightstar8312 shes a massive narcissist
Your reviews are so great because of how you get invested. You have such a positive, fun, caring personality.
When I tell you that this was LITERALLY one of the best Theater experience I’ve had❤ I’ll honestly never forget it.
Man i remember watching this in theaters and let me tell you the moment toby appeared out of the portal it became like an endgame moment
Dont bother, shes so braindead dumb it still is a surprise how she can go through life being that empty headed.
It wasn't Dr. Strange's fault. Peter wanted "everyone" to forget he was Spiderman. Dr. Strange was doing what he wanted. Peter's the one that botched it.
Really? 😂😂😂😂😂
@@inkognitoxx5710 yeah, really.
@@HABO2210 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I really like his suit at the end, bright colors, and homemade. Its like this trilogy was just his origin.
13:45
I dunno, his whole Marvel story literally started with him being reckless. Remember him trying to read a patient file while driving like 80 mph on a winding road at night??
When the movie was coming out
I was on vacation in Florida.
The day it came out
I begged my parents to go to the movies.
Buddy then you haven’t experienced Infinity war and End game
@ no I have
But Spider-Man was still awesome for me
Kristen stays killing me with those jump scares lmfaooo
Also, great job on picking up that Dr. Strange would NEVER have made that spell for Peter. Guys, she’s one of us.
I don't know, Peter did save his life and Strange is still a human being with feelings so he probably just felt sorry for the kid.
But he did. So clearly he would
That’s not true. Besides really wanting to help Peter, he admitted later that causing people to cross between universes should be impossible. So yes it was still in character for him to attempt the spell.
42:59 foreshadowing at its finest lol I love the set up. He learns how to harness his magic and even has on the colors of who he becomes
Is it true in the comics? I saw somewhere that Ned have some kind of power in the comics and that's why he was able to use Dr. Strange's magic.
Man, i didn't even realized that, so true
@@nevin2 the main difference between hob goblin and his green counterpart is that hobgoblin uses magic. Now in the comics I’m not completely sure Ned Leeds uses magic, I believe that’s just the original hobgoblin. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. But as is common in these movies they will combine aspects of multiple versions of the same character since it’s not like we have 500 comic issues to go through lol only 2 hours. Ned Leeds in the comics was actually under hypnosis when he became hobgoblin so it’s gonna be interesting to see how ned comes into this role in the movie
@@heitoroliveira5166 crazy right lol
This movie is really a dream come true. I cried when Andrew Garfield got his redemption
Me too, still!!! 😭😢😂 (the emoji note the tears of joy.)
The reason why spider man can move while doctor strange removed his spirit/ soul from his physical body is because of his spidey sense
I didn’t think I would hear a louder crowd reaction than when Cap wielded the hammer. Tobey Maguire showing up in this film may have topped it.
Kristen has one of the sweetest and most genuine reactions on all of RUclips. A hello from Brasil ❤ !
I live for Kristen jump scares xD oh its crazy how Andrew lied his teeth off every interview denying his return
Venom did get sent back like the others, that's what the light was, but part of him stayed behind on the counter
Venom went back to his timeline. Without any of the Peter's knowing that he was even there.
Fond memories, seeing this in the cinema.
We all lost our minds !!!
Unforgettable experience. ❤
Yeah it was 100% Peters fault. You can’t blame strange at all for Peter fucking it up
I saw this movie opening weekend, and the moment when Andrew Garfield caught Zendaya, everyone cheered like someone made the winning touch down.

Can’t wait for you to see Multiverse of Madness
Giving Amazing Spiderman a do-over on saving MJ was an absolutely inspired choice, and I salute whatever writer or producer came up with it.
Why does everyone always question which Green Goblin it is? Harry NEVER wore that costume neither was he insane with that laugh or glider!!!! Obviously Norman...jeez....
Had the same thought lol 😅
Did you both miss when Harry found out that Peter is Spiderman who he thought killed his father and was jealous of Peter himself who MJ loves and dressed up like the Green Goblin and basically died the same way like his father??
@manhwalovers8548 did you miss where the original comment said “Harry NEVER wore that costume neither was he insane with that laugh or glider”?
Your reaction when Matt Murdock appeared as lawyer was absolute gold!
(And yes, fact, he is a really good lawyer.)

"What an AMAZING moment."
lol I don't even think Kristen realized what she said there.
The fact that Kristen caught on to what was happening here so quickly just shows that she starts to understands the universe better
I blame Peter; he asked for the world to forget Dr Strange would have delivered. Then again, the movie has to happen.
I love how they incorporated the original purple into the Green Goblins outfit. This whole movie is amazing.
7:18 it was supposed to be a simple harmless spell but Kevin Feige confirmed that event of Loki season 1 caused the multiverse to destabilize Meaning it was already weak and that time, Which is why a small mistake cause such a big reaction.
Ya, most people missed that point
This movie felt like pure joy everything Spiderman all in one!
Never thought I’d her biggest jump scare I’ve ever seen came from a marvel movie 😂 Sam rami you’ve done it again 😂😂😂
Also when Peter was separated from his body… phrasing. It was his spidey senses. Even in that state they can move and react.
Now that he can’t go to college, he’s probably gonna work for the Daily Bugle and be a comic accurate Peter Parker
Not just the Original Green Goblin, the ONLY Green Goblin! In the theatre, as soon as that green bomb rolled on the bridge, i cheered sooo loud!😂
I love her energy, but it's always more fun when she has another person to talk with in these reactions videos
Not only is it fun that all these characters are ok screen together. But Imagine how much fun it must have been for the actors behind the scenes
Being a comic book fan, seeing our 3 boys together was something special and one can tell by their chemistry. How Marvel was able to weave their storylines was amazing.
What made this movie so 🔥 is how they tied all three movies together as his origin movie. All the way down to his comic accurate costume.
23:12 his spider sense. It's like a reflex.
you can even see the spider sense around his head which is cool.
@@keyshawngreathouse3782 that nod made me so happy, man
Spider-Man Gen X, Y and Z
Toby and Andrew being able to step right back into their roles after all these years was amazing to watch.
(Also, all those passengers on the metro train in Spider-Man 2 that knew who Peter was, were wondering around MCU New York, probably very confused!)
12:54 pete messed up
Definitely agree with u, this whole fiasco was Peter's fault.
Dr. Strange has always been reckless. From his early training (how he discovered the Time Stone) to his inflated ego.
The SMILE when you realize it's Daredevil!!!! 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁"Look whose his lawyer!"

I watched this film 4 times and it took to me to the last time to notice Doctor Strange say "we" and God damn i cried 😂
Willam Defoe is the GOAT may he live many more years
Hey Kristen, I agree that Strange is primarily responsible for the screw up.
LET'S GO!!
Peter was the one who messed up the spell not Dr. Strange. Peter's indecisiveness changed the parameters resulting in the breach of timelines
Never in a million years would I have predicted that Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker would be the best character in this movie
Neither did I, but it was great seeing him have the redemption he deserved.

The funny thing about Ned promising not to try and kill him is in the comics, Ned is the Hobgoblin... He no longer has his memory of Peter so perhaps we get a new villain.
I hope so, moving forward Ned will become the hobgoblin in one of the new movies of the next Spider trilogy.
For a movie filled to the brim with fanservice, action, and emotional payoffs to years-old set ups, the thing that always impresses me most about this movie is just how damn magnetic and compelling Zendaya is. She steals almost every scene she’s in, imo.
