On the plus side, Kristen didn't have to wait a year before getting to see it. For those of us who saw it on first release, the wait for Endgame felt like an Infinity. #SorryNotSorry
This movie was the best movie theater experience I’ve ever had. Everyone was cheering, laughing, crying, so openly and it was so refreshing to be with a group of people all experiencing the same emotions without holding back. The loud cheer in my theater after “Avengers, assemble.” was unmatched energy.
Yes this was one of my favorite movie theater experiences. If I could go back in time and do one thing it would be to see this movie again for the first time
1:10:25 No, there is no extra scene during or after the credits. The directors wanted this movie to feel like a real ending and not just teasing some other movie later on. But as a tribute to Tony, you can hear at the very end of the credits the sound of clanging metal from Tony building his first Iron Man suit in the cave.
@@thebkgIt was also an homage to when the original Star Trek cast signed off on their characters in the same way, in their final film together. The only way they could think of to end characters they had played for over a decade.
Yup, the second half of this film was basically an ending to all story threads of the original Avenger crew. Cap proved he was more than just something out of a bottle 🔨, Tony proved to Cap he would make the sacrifice play if it was his only option, Bruce came to terms with his other half, Natasha made piece with her demons, Clint got to finally retire, And Thor finally understood he doesn’t have to live up to others expectations, so long as he was his best, true self. Also after the “I am Ironman” scene there was a goal to reference Ironman 1 as much as possible, especially the Cheeseburgers, cause it was the first thing Tony wanted when he was rescued.
That final shot of T’Challa looking at the fireworks over his country while holding his sister and mother is what I see as the true last scene of Chadwick in the MCU. I know he shows up at Tony’s funeral, but that brief scene of him home with his family always makes me cry. *REST IN POWER CHADWICK*
I keep seeing people say that. "Rest in Power" What does that mean? Chadwick was a decent actor, but he was no king. There is no Wakanda. No one ruled in power. Stop romanticizing a work of fiction.
It's also interesting that the first time Cap and Iron Man met, the former criticised the latter for being unable to go the self-sacrifice route, yet Tony does at the end of that film, sort of against Ultron, and finally here.
I always had a theory that similar to Thanos seeing baby Gamora, Tony shouldn't have seen his grown up daughter like in the deleted scene, but he should've seen Yinsen again, and then he'd say something "I hope I didn't waste my life in your eyes pal.......PHEW anyways, it's been 15 years, I wanna finally meet this family of yours! 😉😊"
While it was relatively brief, I really liked the little friendship that Tony and Nebula made together; it was the first time he interacted with someone who didn't already had a preconception of him, and it was the first time in ages that she spent time with someone new that didn't fear or hate her. Plus, their little game had layers since Nebula's previous experience of competition was through Thanos's trials, which always resulted in her losing and suffering pain during and after the challenge; that game was the fist time she got to experience an activity without threat of punishment and it provided childlike enjoyment that she never had before.
And he spoke to her like she was a person, and not a machine. Tony always spoke to his machines like they were people, and I was reminded of that during this moment. ❤
True! Nebula story is so sad she was abused all her life and it’s clear Thanos didn’t love her as much as her sister. So happy she found family with the Guardians
Kind of. In Infinity War, Thor says something about needing strength and it could shred your mind, if you weren't powerful enough. Cap is unnaturally strong and has a hell of a force of will. Thanos probably even more so. So those two could definitely wield it. But someone like Rocket or Ant-Man, probably not.
That is inaccurate! Stormbreaker cannot be wielded by anyone. Someone able to wield a weapon more powerful than mjölnir and Thanos Gauntlet with 5 rings in it would have to be extremely powerful. Anyone less than powerful in that nature would have their brains turn to dust and most likely die due to the shear natural energy coming out of that thing!! Give Stormbreaker a little bit more respect. Have u forgot where and how it was created. Even Groot who gave the weapon its arm was in pain as he lifted it because he couldn't carry it for too long due to its unlimited power.
@@TheAngryPacifist05 Rocket, Ant-man Hawk-eye, anyone apart from Groot in the Guardian of the Galaxy to name a few would all die from carrying it let alone wielding it. And most others who could wield it wouldn't be able to wield it for too long before being drained of energy themselves.
On the durability note, notice in Thanos fight Ironman & Thor were down longer than Cap. Steve recovered faster than Tony (who's just a man) which is understandable but also Thor which is what shows Steve's healing factor at work But also of note is Cap AVOIDS getting hit a lot vs the other brute strength characters who engage in a way that gets them pounded on by the enemies more. I remember in Secret Wars(comic) they were under a MOUNTAIN RANGE that Hulk was holding up from crushing them all and Namor, a 100+ Ton character, fainted from the heat, Cap was still up.
The first one, and then the look on Pepper's face after he dies is heartbreaking. The one line that I have remembered the most over the last couple years was in Tony's goodbye recording. "Part of the journey is the end". I've had to say goodbye to 10 friends and family over the last two years, and that line helps me cope.
"No matter what you say or what you do, When I'm alone I'd rather be with you. F**k these other n****s, I be right by your side, til 3005. Hold up. - Childish Gambino
I'm 55... and i've watched a lot of movies at the theater in my life. I have never in life before this movie, and I expect never again in my life, been a part of so many standing CHEERS in a theater as this movie (When Cap was Worthy, among others)... and so much ugly-cry sobbing... It took TWENTY THREE MOVIES to build to this movie. It earned EVERY cheer, and EVERY tear... I will probably never see a movie that pulled that much emotion from an audience... Theaters are dying. Seeing movies at the theater will never be what it was in 2019. We'll never see the attention span of a 23 movie story arc in audiences again. And we'll never see people gathered to watch like this again. Endgame will stand alone, having played us for our emotions like no other movie.
Paul, am 40yrs old. Am also from the Bahamas 🇧🇸 . Our theaters played out the exact same way. Endgame was the culmination of all those story arcs or *PHASES* into the final showdown. This movie was a global phenomenon and its one of those things you knew exactly where you were and who you were with. I was with my high school alums and man we had a blast!!!! So grateful humanity experienced this before the Pandemic. Marvel should have ended their story right here- but greed ya know? Cheers! And Merry Christmas.
I watched every Avengers movie from Captain America: The First Avenger to Infinity War with the same friend, a dude who grew to be my closest friend in adulthood. The last one we saw together was Infinity War, which left us both shook and excited thst they were that brave and scared about how they'd land the plane they launched. We didn't get to finish the journey together in Endgame. When we met, he had brain cancer, but had been winning. Then all of a sudden, it won. There was a cruel irony to that. I watched this movie in theater probably twenty times, just balling my eyes out. Sometimes because it was sad in and of itself. Sometimes because it was just so hard to close that chapter of my life. I'm so glad that there are reaction channels with people who feel things hard. It makes it possible to remember not just that it happened to me but also how it felt. And as hard as that is, it also really reassures me that I'm all the way alive.
This reminds me of one of my best friends. We went to an Avengers marathon at the first Avengers movie. Then went to the second Avengers marathon with the second movie. He became sick and couldn't go see Infinity War but eventually we watched it at my house, I recorded and tweeted all the key moments to the end. Finally we got to see Endgame and he was excited. Unfortunately a year ago he passed and whenever I watch an Avengers movie, I'm reminded of him cause he was the one I watched it with first. May these movies continue to remind you of your friend and those good memories, like they do for me.
Sorry for your loss. Our spirits never die. We are not of this world, but formed before it. Your bro was watching there next to you. And you will see him again one day. God wanted him to come home though... He missed him. Can you blame Him? Make the world better while you can. Listen to your heart.
@@SeanBoyce-gp It was the same thing with me and my mom before she died we watched every Marvel movie from Iron man all the way up to Endgame. Although she's gone we'll always have those moments together watching these movies. So Thanks Marvel for an incredible ride
Arguably 2 of the Greatest Cinematic Reactions of Movie Theater Audiences in History of Theaters Captain America Speaking the Words Avengers Assemble, and Captain America Hand Out then BAM Mjolnir flies to CapS HAND
Pays off that little moment in Age of Ultron when he made it move slightly. And it's great that Thor is happy that Cap is worthy. Even he knows that if *anyone* would be worthy of Mjolnir, of course it would be Cap.
@@GMDTurbo I don't think so, i think cap only had the ability to summon lightning witht the hammer, when Cap was spinning the hammer it wasn't really fast like Thor normally does.
The Loki series takes place after he grabs the Tesseract Cube and transports himself away. It is the completion of Loki's character arc, and it is absolutely amazing.
It's a small thing, but I love when Black Panther calls out to Hawkeye during the finale, 'Clint!' A throwback to Civil War, when Hawkeye met him and said 'I'm Clint,' and he replied 'I don't care.' Hawkeye had already been fooled by the alternate Nebula, and may be on high alert, but T'Challa makes a personal connection with him when he calls him by name. To me, these are the things that make or break a cinematic universe. It shows the evolution of characters and relationships, without making a big thing about it. With a movie like this, where ALL the heroes show up, the audience has to be clear on how these characters know each other, and how they feel about each other, and the movie doesn't have time to waste on expositing it. These little moments really make the universe feel real and lived-in, and the characters feel like real people who know and trust each other.
Also Nebula calling Thanos father, a callback from when we found out Thanos was her father. Or Carol was "Hi Peter Parker." It was a callback to when Peter said "Hi, I'm Peter Parker."
Kristen, your face when Tony collapsed and we could see the realization hit you was priceless. Makes watching reactions so great, taking us back to the feelings when I was in the theater feeling the same way. There are only 2 phases of Marvel movies, before Endgame and after Endgame. It was the perfect Marvel movie. Great reaction.
I was in the theater watching Avengers Endgame, everyone and I mean EVERYONE started cheering when Cap caught Mjolnir after it hit Thanos in the back, when the portals began to open and when Cap finally said the words "Avengers, assemble". And there was definitely a collective tear shed when both Natasha and Tony passed away, even though they did it heroically. Natasha died to allow Hawkeye to collect the Soul Stone, and Tony died after snapping out Thanos and his army in order to give his daughter Morgan and everyone else a chance to live in a beautiful world with as minimal an amount of conflict as possible. Still two of the saddest deaths in the MCU, but they were a heroic purpose.
Having watched way too many reactions to this movie over the last several years. It was this one for some reason that I realized more stuff.... Tony got to live 5 years with Pepper as a family. Half of the other heroes didn't experience that time because of the blip. Steve was the only one to live both lives, the 5 years on both sides of the timeline. Tony most likely figured out what Doctor Strange did and the reason why he gave the time stone up. He knows what's coming, that he is most likely going to die in the upcoming battle. If Doctor Strange had not gone to dust then he most likely could have told Tony what was coming and Tony could have figured a way to do it without the inevitable outcome.
These moments we’ve been wanting for years finally coming to reality on this movie was probably the best experience anyone who went and saw it in theaters will ever have
I just noticed that Black Panther called Hawkeye by his name, Clint. In Civil War he introduced himself and T'challa said "I don't care" at the airport 😭
Back to the first Avengers movie, Tony said that the only special thing of cap came from a bottle and here it was confirmed that he is Worthy, and Steve said that Tony always takes the easy way out, and here Tony sacrifices himself for everyone.
1:03:21 is a befitting reaction. It's how we all felt in the theater. I saw Endgame with my oldest on opening night. It was a movie experience unlike any other. She was sobbing, and I was choking back tears too. The neighboring viewers were so sweet to her.
We all went through the same emotional roller coaster in the theater Kristen. Not a dry eye in there. We were on this 10 yr journey to get to this movie
"You can rest now." That line gets me even more now since a buddy of mine passed away after four years of dealing with cancer in October at 42. He was diagnosed early during the Pandemic. Austin was a Marvel and Star Wars fan. Rest in peace, Austin Kershaw(1982-2024). You are missed, buddy. Much love and a big hug goes out to you, Kristen.
Infinity War and Endgame were masterpieces. No matter how many times I rewatch them, I get emotional every time. I wish I could go back in time to experience this movie in theaters for the first time again.
The *AVENGERS ASSEMBLE* scene is honest to god one of the most emotional and iconic scenes not just in the MCU, but in film history. No other film franchise has had a moment as powerful as this in terms of building up hype for a massive climax like this, especially a moment that was 10 years in the making.
My take wasn't that young Steve talked to Bucky (I don't think Steve had planned to stay in the past when he left) but rather that Old Steve had already come to talk to Bucky, to prepare him.
@@garretthenderson5738sorry buddy but you’re wrong. In Falcon and WS episode 5 Bucky apologized to Sam when he and Cap decided to give you the shield WE never thought about what it would mean giving it to a black man! So they definitely talked about it or he would have said Cap! But instead he said “I owe you an apology!”
Potts didn't say "you're going to be ok" she said "we are going to be ok, it's ok you can go". Some people hang on to hear something like that before passing.
Except God, the Infinite, which our finite world exists within. A space, a gap, a place where nothing can exist, this is called "Ein", aka 'without' and space allows for differentiation, separation into good and bad, light and dark, the Devil (Azazel) and the Son of God (Ein Sof Ohr)
you're right... I saw Mickey Rourke interviewed on "inside the actor's studio" years ago. He told a story about his brother who died of cancer, Mickey was at his side every day at the end and one day the hospice nurse told Mickey that his brother should have already died, and that he was hanging on because of Mickey. She told him that he needed to tell his brother that is was ok to go... Mickey told him and he died within a couple hours. It's crazy but true.
The paper football game was goofy and fun, but it was actually a pretty big moment for Nebula. For the first time, she came in first. Something as simple as Tony telling her that she won the game was something she never experienced. Her entire life, Gamora was the favorite, always one step ahead and just a little bit better at whatever they attempted to do. She was always second place until Tony of all people showed her that little bit of respect and compassion. Nebula had great character development though the MCU journey.
The writing was NEXT LEVEL for Avengers 3&4 as they developed characters that didn't get to be in other movies and completed several arcs in a satisfying manner. Red Skull being one being everyone forgot about but whose Indiana Jones style disappearance wasn't explained....till Vormir. [Chef's kiss]
I love that this movie also answered the questions from the first Avengers movie. Loki asked Natasha how she could wipe that much red from her ledger. Tony told Bruce that much gamma should have killed him, and Bruce asked so he was saved for a purpose? Steve tells Tony his isn't the type to lay down on the wire and sacrifice himself. Tony tells Steve that everything special about him came out of a bottle. All were answered here, and each character proved themselves.
I mean technically Tony did the sacrifice play at the end of Avengers 1 itself. He'd resigned himself to the fact that he might not make it out of that sky portal. Nevertheless, I love that so many thing from Avengers 1 paid off here!
1:50 that moment between nebula and tony was huge for her lol. She was always getting put against gamorrha for just about anything and always came up short, so I'm fairly certain she had never in her life been told she had won at something until Tony. She even looks like she's scared that it's a trick after he says it
Each of the various Avengers are each in a different stage of grief. Cap is in denial, holding therapy sessions, but unable to move on himself. Clint in anger, killing any criminals that survived the “snap”, since his family didn’t. Nat is bargaining. She’s trying to distract herself with work. Thor is obviously in depression. Tony has accepted the situation, and started a family.
The end credits with the OG Avengers was my fav memory. I knew right then the MCU could never replicate the magic of those 10 years. So anything magical ever since is icing on the cake
This is a great way to think of it, I hear all the time the MCU isn't what it used to be, and it isn't, and we likely won't ever get it again, but so many of us still have the first 10 years & everything since that we've enjoyed is icing on the cake.
@@jealmazan24 Before Endgame people trashed on the MCU just as much. Once Secret Wars ends people will say about it what you are saying about Endgame. When the MCU peaks it's easy to act like that peak represents everything that built up to it but during the build up you don't realize how great all that stuff is going to look once you see the finale.
I think the most impressive thing Marvel did over the past 15+ years was to create a universe that people who wouldn’t normally care AT ALL about superhero movies would get so emotionally invested that they would WEEP when a character dies… just a truly beautiful thing. The power of storytelling and the magic of movies. Fills me with joy
The trickiest part was maintaining it. After the 1st Avengers movie, you can tell a few people were losing attention but it started to swing itself around somewhere in phase 2 - maybe it was Winter Solider and/or Guardians...?
36:06 this moment with his talk with Frigga, then the implication that he doubted if he was worthy, absolutely wrecked me, of course one of multiple moments, but still lmao
When Mjolnir returned to Steve's hand that first time in the big battle scene. you could hear a pin drop in the theatre. We were all stunned for a second ... and then we all just went completely apeshit. We were applauding, cheering, it was such a massive buzz. After five years of all that conjecture, knowing that he really WAS worthy after all, that he just pretended he couldn't lift it to spare Thor's feelings ... that was SUCH an incredible moment for the fans.
Thor getting to see his mom again was another tear jerker. Especially for me when I only got to see my mom again in a dream after she died. This movie is a pull on the heart strings and tear jerker kind of a movie once Natasha sacrifice herself to become the soul stone. Broke me and my mom down like a ton of bricks
Same for me too, Cory. Mom died of cancer 12yrs ago. And she appeared to me in a dream, that same youthful woman I knew her as and told me to let her go and live my life after 5yrs of guilt for not doing more to save her. Yeh.
@@rivervixens06no it hasn't, not yet esp after my mom died. But that's why I keep going so that I can see my future bec9ming more and more kind to me. 😊
The fact that Prince T'Chala was the first one to step through the portal, the first to come back, was such a big deal. It was an incredible tribute to Chadwick Boseman, that he got pride of place in that incredibly emotional moment. Gone but never forgotten.
Yes the acting, subtle nod and EYE contact between him and Steve(not the one with the overbite) is next level acting. If this wasn't a super hero film, it would have been up for awards with many actors on many lists. One of my most cherished moments in the MCU, up there with "Captain's orders".
I kept telling people at the time that having him come through the portal first was intentional. It was to signify his place as one of the focal points past End Game and moving forward in the MCU. Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Spiderman were the planned next big 3 for the next phase...with T'Challa sort of stepping into the vacancy left by losing Tony Stark. Now years later after it has been said by Kevin F and others heads in the MCU people get it. That's why Chadwick's death sent everything into a tailspin. Black Panther was supposed to be THE GUY. And then they decided to murder the character instead of recasting and tried to shoehorn Dr. Strange into the role in the next big 3 that was supposed to be T'Challa. We know how that turned out. (disaster). Captain Marvel turned out to be another disaster. But that's another story.
@@bryce253tbh the story telling past endgame has been abysmal. Not even Chadwick being alive would saved that. Marvel has done a lot of things wrong post endgame. Rushing projects instead of taking the necessary time to curate them is a big reason behind this slump. In 2019 I remember saying the mcu should go on 5 year break and restructure the next saga. It would have been for the best. I'm glad that Kevin feige is at least listening to the audience now and slowing the releases down. It will go a long way to help end this saga on a good note.
Endgame is a masterpiece . I went to see the movie twice . 2hr 45 minutes. Didn't even feel like it. This movie broke records because of how epic it was.
34:45 This movie came out two years after my mother had passed. The whole scene with Thor getting a chance to see his mom again broke me when I first watched it.
Man i will never forget when i went to see this in theaters they give me a poster for this movie and stadiums turned into Colosseum’s that day you just had to be there to witness this seeing all heroes and cap saying “Avengers.. Assemble”
Cap was always worthy enough to wield Mjolnir, he faked not being able to budge it in Age of Ultron to spare Thor feeling inadequate in front of mortals.
I don't think he was faking it, I think he didn't think he was worthy enough. He also went through a lot of character building throughout Civil War and Infinity War that led him to start believing that he was Worthy.
The axe (Stormbreaker) had nothing to do with worthiness, only the hammer (Mjolnir ). Dr. Strange said there was only one way to win. Tony died the moment he snapped. Going anywhere back in time would have brought everyone from Thanos' team. The "special" credit features were autographs of the main cast in the credit reel, and then the clanging sounds from Tony in the cave as a tribute to that first movie where it all started.
Kristen, you gave the most heartfelt MCU reaction I've ever seen. You're like so many people who fell in love with these characters, and it really hurt to say goodbye to some of them. Whether you laughed, or cheered, or cried, you were entirely committed to this movie. Thanks for sharing it with us.
To me this is the best movie of them all, which is why this became the number 1 movie in box office history. The two points that hit me was “I love you 3000” and seeing cap and Peggy get their dance at the end.
Thor’s hammer (Mjolnir) had an enchantment placed on it by Odin that only someone who was “worthy” could pick it up. But Thor’s axe (Stormbreaker), despite being incredibly powerful, had no such enchantment placed on it. Anybody with sufficient strength can pick it up.
This movie made the characters much more than heroes. You got to see the truly human side of them all. There wasn't a dry eye in the theater when I saw it. Laughter and cheers...They did a MARVELOUS Job moving our hearts didn't they?
I honestly STILL get excited watching this movie, No matter HOW many times I go back to it. And I honestly cannot WAIT to see what Robert Downy JR. gonna bring to the table with Doctor Doom in Avengers Doomsday and Secret Wars.
There’s no after credits because this was the intended end of the MCU from when they started back in Iron Man. They continued making more but this was the end of the saga. The rest are kinda their own thing. That just takes place afterwards
This film was a major gut punch. My soul was lifted and taken away by every epic scene. It'll always be Marvel's crowning achievement as well as my favorite movie experience with an audience with The Avengers, Toy Story 3 and The Dark Knight. Still can't believe it wasn't nominated for Best Picture.
Personally, I think Cap has always been able to wield the hammer. He was just such a gentleman that he didn’t want Thor to lose face when they were all chilling and trying it out. Because Steve Rogers is a boss..
The moment Tony had with Nebula playing a game and her winning was the first time in her life doing both of these, she always was robotic in feelings and inferior to Gamora. Her having fun and winning a game was adorable.
One of the best parts about this movie is seeing how ruthless Thanos was in his quest for the stones. By the time we see him in Infinity War he already had a stone and was completely out of armor in the first 2 minutes. Also, Stormbreaker doesn’t have the same enchantment on it like Mjolnir.
I'm a 53 year old guy. Every time I see this ending it gets me bad and I'm not ashamed to admit that. Sending you a virtual hug from the UK, Kristen. I love watching your reactions. 🥰
Hulk and Tony explained the time travel in this. If you go back in time and make "you from last week" stop from making a bad decision, then "you from last week" will go on to have a life where she didn't make that one bad decision, but that doesn't change anything about _you_ because that wasn't you anymore, you already made that decision last week.
Consider yourself hugged! I saw this movie in the theatre and I couldn't believe how many people were crying, including me. It was fantastic writing and I wasn't able to escape tears. It didn't help when Happy told Tony's daughter that he was going to get her all the Cheeseburgers she wanted!!
Kristen; I saw this in the theatres, and have watched it a few times since with reactors, and this movie breaks me every time. I sobbed along with you. Hugs girl.
Something I never thought of before: Tony says "Bring everyone back, but don't change anything else from the past 5 years"... For all the people who were snapped & came back, it was just a blink, & "Huh, what happened?". But suddenly, to them, all their friends & family who were here all along, they're all carrying 5 years of trauma. Their return isn't giong to just wipe away the emotional damage. Damn.
Dont forget, everyone snapped back in the same space that they disappeared from... people who were in vehicles (in airplanes or boats) would've returned in mid-air or in the middle of the sea. Unless there was some caveat to the snap which safely reappeared everyone somewhere other than where they disappeared at
@@ericc8705 We absolutely would have been given a full scene of that return chaos if this happened in The Boys😂😂😂😂😂 Many of the returned absolutely would have died and probably caused additional deaths, like if they reappeared in the middle of the highway or something.
There are cinematic moments that come in a century. To be able to replicate that moment when you first saw Sam, Prince T’Chala, Peter re-appear on the battlefield is impossible. Kristin couldn’t have had a better reaction. ❤
Scarlet witch is the most powerful being in this movie. They kind of capture her power in the scene where she almost defeats thanos. In the comics, she is so powerful that she could’ve by her self been able to warp the reality where Thanos snapped his fingers she could literally change everything by her self
She may be powerful, but even she was no match for Thanos when he wielded the gauntlet in the Infinity Gem saga in the comics. Thanos was so powerful, his defeat was just stupid and contrived, as is the case when comics make a character too powerful and have to have that character be defeated.
@@ghostlee6434 Na back then people actually were invested in the characters & the story lol, therefor through the highs & lows we enjoyed the journey & anticipated the big finale. Now adays there just isn't that same connection & the drop in quality of storytelling & lack of direction just stands out.
@@SecondSince Sure, "bad story telling, no direaction, no relatable characters" is "nitpicking". Keep acting as if there isn't something wrong with the schlock they've made kowtowing to mindless "look at me" types.
This was the best cinematic experience of all time..I've never been part of anything like it and probably never will again. Everyone was sobbing or tearing up in the theater.
I love that Peggy has a photo of Steve before the "bottle". Natasha's death is so sad, I wished a lot more for her. Great reaction as always, Big hug to you, Kristen!
Here we are. All 21 movies has lead up to this very moment. One of the biggest blockbusters of 2019, and somehow beat Avatar financially. I still get hyped for the 3rd act to this movie since almost all of the Avengers got together to finally defeat Thanos.
@@skywillfindyou Okay, we get it! Infinity War was great, but you need to move on already! To quote Syndrome from The Incredibles; “Oh, come on! You gotta admit, this is cool!”
“One of the biggest blockbusters of 2019” is underselling it. It was the biggest of 2019 and one of the biggest of all time (at one point the biggest, though Avatar reclaimed the title with a re-release).
Endgame, no matter how many times I see it, makes me bawl like a baby every single time. I grew up with these characters… I was 6 years old when Iron Man came out, and I was 17 when I watched Endgame for the first time.
My interpretation of that scene was he could always life it but he wasn't doing it for a worthy cause. He was doing it for competition which the hammer didn't deem worthy.
I saw this on release night and I don't think ill ever have another cinema experience like it again. The audience erupted when Steve got Mjolnir and when the portals opened. By the end of it most people were crying. The one part in this movie that hits me like a truck every time is Morgan asking for a cheeseburger and Happy telling her he will get her all the cheeseburgers she wants, because one of the first things Tony says after arriving back in the US from the middle east is "I want an American cheeseburger"
What do you mean "Not this music."? Portals has to be one of the greatest soundtracks ever written in movie history, it was absolutely perfect with the scene.
As crazy as it seems to kill Iron Man or eliminate Chris Evans Captain America just remember this was an 11 year span of movies that you experienced in a matter of months! Honestly really respect Marvel for killing Tony off and what a better send off then being the one to save the world! A man among marvels!
@@s2moneyy Not for me. They were saying "See you at Secret Wars" to each other when they said goodbye. Black Widow died in that movie and she turned up again. Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man series was cancelled halfway through and he's from another timeline and company and he turned up again. Keaton did Batman again after three decades. Christopher Reeve died and his character turns up again. I've read enough comics and watched enough super hero movies that I don't believe in goodbyes.
Only Mjolnir is enchanted, but anyone can take the axe. According to the logic of the Avengers, traveling to the past, you do not return to your past, you create an alternate timeline, so Nebula killed herself from the past, just killed her alternate version.
What a live movie experience this was. I have anxiety issues. I recall when Sam first said on your left, I started hyperventilating. The next 3 minutes was a big blur. When movie was done, I had to sneak into theatre next door that was about an hour behind and watch that scene again. Everyone can shit on marvel but there has never been an movie experience like Endgame and Infinity War
i had the pleasure of watching this in theatres when it came out (so glad it just barely predated covid so we didn't miss out on that experience) and its the best movie experience I've ever had. not sure it will ever be beaten. what a great ending to a truly incredible franchise.
They have to tear you down so many times, so that they can build you up again in other places. You go through so many sad tears, and happy tears through the course of this movie. It's god damn beautiful
Actually, during the party in "Age of Ultron" when Cap slightly moved the hammer, (and Thor looked worried) Cap realized how serious it was... He chose not to lift it at that moment. But, Cap has been "worthy" even before becoming Captain America...He showed his worthiness when he leaped onto the hand grenade to protect everyone else.
In the Theater version there was an end credits scene. It was just the Marvel logo and the sound of a hammer hitting metal from Iron Man one where he made the first suit in the cave. As a nod to Iron man starting the MCU and finishing endgame
The scene where Steve sees Peggy in the past always chockes me up. Can you imagine how hard it would be to contain yourself in that moment? Not only did he grieve her death, but he also had to grieve the life he never got to have with her...the life he gave up to save the world. And everything that he wants is just right on the other side of the glass, but he can’t touch it because of his commitment to the greater good. Man sacrificed having a life to lead the Avengers. His ending was so deserved.
After Kristen finished this reaction, she came downstairs sobbing and needed a hug real badly. This movie hit her hard.
😂😂😂 I love Kristen’s reactions. She’s my favorite
On the plus side, Kristen didn't have to wait a year before getting to see it.
For those of us who saw it on first release, the wait for Endgame felt like an Infinity. #SorryNotSorry
When Natasha went, I was thinking Kristin needed a hug. When Tony went, I wasn’t sure if anything would help tbh.
❤ you Kristen. We were all there once.
Aww ❤
This movie was the best movie theater experience I’ve ever had. Everyone was cheering, laughing, crying, so openly and it was so refreshing to be with a group of people all experiencing the same emotions without holding back. The loud cheer in my theater after “Avengers, assemble.” was unmatched energy.
To be able to go back and experience that for the first time....absolutely my favorite night at the movies.
It honestly felt like a freaking festival! Everyone is having the time of our lives!
Yes this was one of my favorite movie theater experiences. If I could go back in time and do one thing it would be to see this movie again for the first time
EXACTLY EVERYTHING YOU HAVE SAID!!!
It occurred to me that night, waiting for the movie to start, that I may never be as excited for a movie ever again. And so far, I'm right.
Don't forget the Signitures of each of the founding members of the Avengers, that was the Russo's salute to each of them.
@@thebkgIt was also an homage to when the original Star Trek cast signed off on their characters in the same way, in their final film together. The only way they could think of to end characters they had played for over a decade.
Yup, the second half of this film was basically an ending to all story threads of the original Avenger crew.
Cap proved he was more than just something out of a bottle 🔨,
Tony proved to Cap he would make the sacrifice play if it was his only option,
Bruce came to terms with his other half,
Natasha made piece with her demons,
Clint got to finally retire,
And Thor finally understood he doesn’t have to live up to others expectations, so long as he was his best, true self.
Also after the “I am Ironman” scene there was a goal to reference Ironman 1 as much as possible, especially the Cheeseburgers, cause it was the first thing Tony wanted when he was rescued.
I always wondered what that clanging sound was supposed to be.
The end and beginning are one.
That final shot of T’Challa looking at the fireworks over his country while holding his sister and mother is what I see as the true last scene of Chadwick in the MCU. I know he shows up at Tony’s funeral, but that brief scene of him home with his family always makes me cry.

Tony and Steve most certainly honored the promises that were made in those moments and lived their lives accordingly.
The 2 cornerstone statements to the 2 cornerstone characters in the MCU.
50:50 been waiting for this face and boy was it worth it ❤ from Nap town enjoy your reactions
❤
Agreed. It was a friendship that I didn’t know I needed.
True! Nebula story is so sad she was abused all her life and it’s clear Thanos didn’t love her as much as her sister. So happy she found family with the Guardians
And they're both incredibly smart. Tony and Nebula would actually be really good friends in a makerspace.
Plus the game helped hone Tonys flicking skills which he later used to accurately launch Ant-man.
People seem to forget that only mjölnir was enchanted by Odin to be worthy to have the power of Thor. Stormbreaker can be wielded by anyone.
this. theyre not the same.
Steve recovered faster than Tony (who's just a man) which is understandable but also Thor which is what shows Steve's healing factor at work
But also of note is Cap AVOIDS getting hit a lot vs the other brute strength characters who engage in a way that gets them pounded on by the enemies more.
I remember in Secret Wars(comic) they were under a MOUNTAIN RANGE that Hulk was holding up from crushing them all and Namor, a 100+ Ton character, fainted from the heat, Cap was still up.
I LOVE the fact the Avengers charge first into battle. Like "you threaten our planet WE come for YOU."
“You can rest now” & “I love you 3000” hits me every time I watch this! Which is like 1000 times by now.
that's like 3 million then
The first one, and then the look on Pepper's face after he dies is heartbreaking.

May his memory be a blessing, however you choose to interpret that.
I watched the first Guardians of the Galaxy with my wife, a cancer survivor, just after my mom passed from cancer. I feel your feels. ❤️

Hammer time!
Arguably 2 of the Greatest Cinematic Reactions of Movie Theater Audiences in History of Theaters
Captain America Speaking the Words Avengers Assemble, and Captain America Hand Out then BAM Mjolnir flies to CapS HAND
Does that mean that Captain America can technically fly, like Thor?
Along with Wasp calling Steve "Cap" after she teased Ant-Man for doing just that in Ant-Man 2.
Also Nebula calling Thanos father, a callback from when we found out Thanos was her father. Or Carol was "Hi Peter Parker." It was a callback to when Peter said "Hi, I'm Peter Parker."
Don't bother, ALL previous movies in the MCU are called back at some point in this one...

Agreed. She is soulful
@RedmoonIndustries At least the Avengers won in the end, even if it came at a grave cost of two of the founding members.
"You're not the one to make the sacrifice play."

you're right...
THIS!
I mean technically Tony did the sacrifice play at the end of Avengers 1 itself. He'd resigned himself to the fact that he might not make it out of that sky portal. Nevertheless, I love that so many thing from Avengers 1 paid off here!
That's some deep shit, dude!
Bullseye
The end credits with the OG Avengers was my fav memory. I knew right then the MCU could never replicate the magic of those 10 years. So anything magical ever since is icing on the cake
This is a great way to think of it, I hear all the time the MCU isn't what it used to be, and it isn't, and we likely won't ever get it again, but so many of us still have the first 10 years & everything since that we've enjoyed is icing on the cake.
@@jealmazan24 Before Endgame people trashed on the MCU just as much. Once Secret Wars ends people will say about it what you are saying about Endgame.

Cap was always worthy enough to wield Mjolnir, he faked not being able to budge it in Age of Ultron to spare Thor feeling inadequate in front of mortals.
It seems like a lot of people dont get this lol. Steve's a good guy that way
I don't think he was faking it, I think he didn't think he was worthy enough.
Strange lies. He just wants Iron Man dead.
"You can rest now...all the cheeseburgers you want" is what got me.
Pepper & Happy made me sad over Tony, not his actual death.
Weird weird.
Ironically when Loki disappeared with the cube that's when the show Loki started at lol
Well, that tesseract never made it back to NYC 2012 😅
@LordVolkov most definitely. Just a heads up if she wants to check out Loki 🤷🏾
@@LordVolkovYes it did. The TVA took it back.
Nothing ironic about it. That was the entire plot of Loki.
And thanos plan was not happen @@LordVolkov
23:00 “why is your hand half in your pants?” I’ve seen this movie PLENTY OF TIMES and I never noticed that 😂😂😂
This film was a major gut punch. My soul was lifted and taken away by every epic scene. It'll always be Marvel's crowning achievement as well as my favorite movie experience with an audience with The Avengers, Toy Story 3 and The Dark Knight. Still can't believe it wasn't nominated for Best Picture.
"I am Iron Man" and the cheesburgers are callbacks to the end of the first Iron Man movie. The one that started everything.
Personally, I think Cap has always been able to wield the hammer. He was just such a gentleman that he didn’t want Thor to lose face when they were all chilling and trying it out. Because Steve Rogers is a boss..
The weeping I had going on in this movie EVERY SINGLE TIME thors mom and his scene JESUS I was balling and Tony’s death
Hugs girl.
I thought I was done crying over this movie! Thanks Kristen for the emotional whiplash, and welcome to the club. Love this reaction 3000 ❤
Unless there was some caveat to the snap which safely reappeared everyone somewhere other than where they disappeared at
@@ericc8705 the directors explained that Hulk thought about that and brought everyone who would've been in a vehicle safely back on land.
@@ericc8705
We absolutely would have been given a full scene of that return chaos if this happened in The Boys😂😂😂😂😂
Many of the returned absolutely would have died and probably caused additional deaths, like if they reappeared in the middle of the highway or something.
There are cinematic moments that come in a century. To be able to replicate that moment when you first saw Sam, Prince T’Chala, Peter re-appear on the battlefield is impossible. Kristin couldn’t have had a better reaction. ❤
*King T'challa
Scarlet witch is the most powerful being in this movie. They kind of capture her power in the scene where she almost defeats thanos. In the comics, she is so powerful that she could’ve by her self been able to warp the reality where Thanos snapped his fingers she could literally change everything by her self
MCU Wanda doesn't realize all she had to do was say....... "No more Thanos."
She’s not officially omega level but she’s close
I understood that reference.
She may be powerful, but even she was no match for Thanos when he wielded the gauntlet in the Infinity Gem saga in the comics. Thanos was so powerful, his defeat was just stupid and contrived, as is the case when comics make a character too powerful and have to have that character be defeated.
@ whoa! Thanks for the insight. Preciate youuuuuuu
My interpretation was Cap was always worthy but he didn't want to hurt Thors pride. And Thor suspected hence the "I knew it".
Peak marvel dude, i hope they can somewhat recapture this feeling for secret war and doomsday
Back then people didn't nitpick everything apart that didn't fit in their tiny bubble
@@ghostlee6434 Na back then people actually were invested in the characters & the story lol, therefor through the highs & lows we enjoyed the journey & anticipated the big finale. Now adays there just isn't that same connection & the drop in quality of storytelling & lack of direction just stands out.
@@LouiePizzle There you go, nitpicking.
"You didn't even say bye? You just sucked him?" is wild out of context.
Some girlfriends are women of few words and actions speak, or limit speaking, louder.
Ik bro me too I was hyped when this masterpiece came out
Meh
The "very" moment was Thanos victory in previous movie.
Cap always could lift the hammer, but he knew how much Thor value being the only one at the time, so he spared Thor's feelings.
Thats the popular version of what happened. In reality he wasnt yet worthy as he still had that secret from Tony about what happened to his father.
@bcm3938 great point. I never thought of that!
My interpretation of that scene was he could always life it but he wasn't doing it for a worthy cause. He was doing it for competition which the hammer didn't deem worthy.
@HieroIsHere also a good point!
@@bcm3938 the russos said he always was
The sweetest, saddest, gut-punch I've ever watched. Kristen, you feel so deeply and don't ever lose that. It was a blast watching your reaction❤❤
It really was a moment
What do you mean "Not this music."? Portals has to be one of the greatest soundtracks ever written in movie history, it was absolutely perfect with the scene.
As crazy as it seems to kill Iron Man or eliminate Chris Evans Captain America just remember this was an 11 year span of movies that you experienced in a matter of months! Honestly really respect Marvel for killing Tony off and what a better send off then being the one to save the world! A man among marvels!
AND the time is about the same. Except for a few, the movies usually lined up with the year they came out so that was a pretty intense 10-15 years
They didn't get rid of Cap. Dude got old in a movie where they figured out how to undo aging. He's also a time traveler. He can turn up anywhere.
@@alphanerd7221 technically no but it did feel like a Chris Evans send off!
This movie has so many great call backs and so many little details. It is truly a masterpiece. Congrats Kristen on this journey.
1:11:01 anger stage LOL
i had the pleasure of watching this in theatres when it came out (so glad it just barely predated covid so we didn't miss out on that experience) and its the best movie experience I've ever had. not sure it will ever be beaten. what a great ending to a truly incredible franchise.
50:37 Storm breaker wasn't enchanted with the same "worthy" spell Mjolnir was so anyone could hold it.
They have to tear you down so many times, so that they can build you up again in other places. You go through so many sad tears, and happy tears through the course of this movie. It's god damn beautiful
Its heeere ,this reaction wa…. Inevitable
Yes, that's true
Being the good man.
In the Theater version there was an end credits scene. It was just the Marvel logo and the sound of a hammer hitting metal from Iron Man one where he made the first suit in the cave. As a nod to Iron man starting the MCU and finishing endgame
Seeing this live in the theater was possibly the greatest movie experience I have ever had. So much screaming. So much epic! Everyone left exhausted.
Oh honey I'm sending you a preemptive hug❤❤❤❤❤
The scene where Steve sees Peggy in the past always chockes me up. Can you imagine how hard it would be to contain yourself in that moment? Not only did he grieve her death, but he also had to grieve the life he never got to have with her...the life he gave up to save the world. And everything that he wants is just right on the other side of the glass, but he can’t touch it because of his commitment to the greater good. Man sacrificed having a life to lead the Avengers. His ending was so deserved.
