Now that my husband saw me go through natural birth, gaining weight from depo, pain from an IUD after and the constant symptoms from birth control he said he would get one so that I could leave my body alone. Definitely love from him lol

I agree that married men getting it is an act of love. For single men it's so they don't get caught up and good on them for being responsible. However, I am still of the opinion that a if you are single and ready to mingle no glove no love . STI are still out there.

2 of my uncles had vasectomies after having their last kids because the surgery is less invasive than tubal ligation. Tubal ligation recovery can take up to 4 weeks where as a vasectomy a man can be back to normal within days. So yes, they did it out of love and consideration for my aunts 💓

My friend had her tubes tied after her second son and then about a year maybe a little more than a year, she got pregnant with her daughter. We were SHOCKED!

It's not just about child support or money. Did you ever think that some men may not want children either? Just like a woman can get her tubes tied, a man can get his hose snipped. And yeah, even when you get your hose snipped still use protection. Because a baby isn't the only consequence of sex. You can catch something a lot more dangerous and deadly. Those nice mutant STDs/STIs.
@@TiffanyRayneOfficial Yes but money and child support is a big reason why a man (or a woman, for that matter) don't want children. Not only does it cost a crap ton of money to have a child (in the US it does anyway), but it also takes a crap ton of money to raise a child.

If you don't want a kid in the first place. Imagine then having one?, You're going to end up on child support.

I actually am a wife and a living witness that husbands do get vasectomies to protect their wives. I almost died during both of my pregnancies and after the birth of our second child my husband decided, scheduled and went through getting the procedure done. I thank God that both my children and I lived. However, my husband was adamant that he was not risking my life again. I had some remorse about it at first because I really wanted a son, but I understood where he was coming from. Plus C-sections are really difficult to heal from and my husband agreed that I had gone through enough procedures in the hospital. His surgery took less than an hour and a seven day recovery and I have thoroughly enjoyed the not having the pressure of wondering if I'm pregnant again. Both our daughters have brought more joy than I could have ever anticipated.

I honestly think this is amazing. Men should be able to decide over their body too, because once their seed is out they loose all the control in the situation. The woman carrying your child gets to decide now what to do with her body. I really don’t understand why Loni had a problem with that

Future should’ve been on that about 10 years ago 🤦🏽♀️ “My body, my choice.” Remember? That sentiment goes for men too 💁🏽♀️ I think it’s a great idea - more men should consider it. Less “oops babies” and less hormones that the woman has to put in her body. Important to note: *this procedure does NOT protect against STIs - only unplanned pregnancies.* So if you’re out in these streets and not monogamous with only one partner, you still need to wear a condom for protection.

I thought her skepticism was related to it being an “act of love” which I get her skepticism. I think it’s responsible and a wise thing to do but claiming guys are doing it as an act of love seems like a reach for me. Some likely are but I do think some might be doing it so they don’t have to be concerned with getting anyone pregnant. That is a wonderful reason to get a vasectomy but it’s not an act of love for your partner. It’s an act of love for yourself which is still important. I think it’s the language being used like they’re doing it for their female partners when they’re doing it for themselves. Do something for yourself fellas. Love that for y’all but claiming it’s as an act of love toward women is going to get some skepticism.

I hear that it's harder to successfully reverse it after 10 years. I mean you can reverse it but the chances of getting a woman pregnant would be drastically reduced after 10 years of getting the vesectomy.

Thank god men are doing this. Its good to protect yourself. This has two huge pro 1. Man can family plan and they doesn't have to ask a woman to prevent children or take the morning after pill 2. Stops unwanted children with dads that refuse to pay child support because the father didn't want it and the mother did. This needs to be common practice no more baby daddy's or baby mama's
I got my tubes tied after our second (we have 3 kids) and my husband is ALSO getting a vasectomy in a couple weeks. Dotting our i-s & crossing our Ts.

Okay ladies, this is where you are over stepping a boundary. It is a man's decision to have vasectomy or not. His reason is his own. Once he tells you about it, then you can have a discussion. Note: He does not have to share that information right off the jump. A vasectomy is one of the more responsible acts a man can do. Also not every man necessarily wants children. However, it must be noted a vasectomy doesn't prevent STDs.
The same way it's a woman's decision to take oral birth control pills. However, there is pressure in a monogamous relationship for the woman to take the burden of birth control when it could be shared by the other party.
Note* it's a lot more difficult to reverse a vasectomy than people realise.
My exwife went through a depression after our child. She did not want her tube tide. So I had a vasectomy. Later we divorced and she went on to have more children. Now I can't even make enough money even if I want to change the vasectomy. !!!!!!

This is the dumbest thing. People think that vasectomies are easily reversible and it heavily depends. The longer you wait, the more difficult it is to reverse and even when it is reversed, pregnancy chances can range from 30% to 90% success
Who cares which is easier, neither should be done as a form of birth control and only should be done as a form of birth prevention. People who don't want kids, fine, but if you want kids and think, "oh, I'm just going to tie them up for a couple of years and untie them when I want a kid," yeah, no!
Plus, I as a woman am in charge of me, and no one is going to tell me to tie or snip anything for the sake of anyone else. If I was a man, i genuinely would not give a flying f if what was easy or hard on women when it relates to my personal body.

But these options exist for a reason, and they should be discussed between partners as well as abortion and so on. And the risks, impact, and side effects involved in these procedures, as well as the medical impact it can have on your body. If people thought a lot more about the real responsibilities and consequences of sex, instead of just the pleasurable aspect of it, a lot of people would not be dishing it out so freely and recklessly. And again, a baby is not the only consequence or results of sex. You can catch/spread things you can't get rid of and/or that can kill you. STDs/STIs really are infections diseases.

the conversation surrounding men undergoing vasectomies as an act of love was so shallow? they could've delved deeper than to highlight the small percent of men that would lie about sth like that, just so they could go condomless. yes, those people exist but the majority of men getting the procedures do it with a genuine intention behind it. birth control is not a viable method of contraception because of all the side effects it gives to the person taking it. so when a man decides to take one for the team and get a vasectomy (which is a simpler procedure than tubal ligation and has less complications), i would definitely applaud such a decision.
