Rick and Peter videos were my gateway to youtube golf. Love the two of you together.
I have to admit that I was so disappointed that when Rick was filming with Good Good that he didn't have Peter, Andy, and Matt team up with Rick to do a 4 v 4 or something like that with the boys. I was really hoping that that would happen. Would have been EPIC! Felt a little deflated when it didn't happen. Love your stuff Peter, please keep making videos with Matt and Andy. Love the camaraderie.

100% agree. For my taste, the Rick/Andy/Matt/Peter group videos are the best. I really prefer them to just about any other content on any of their four channels. I mean there are cool things like Rick playing Crail with Iona, and Peter doing the contests against course head pros, and I love all those things, but when a bunch of those guys get together, that's genuinely fun stuff.

I think people forget just how quickly YT golf creative has evolved and how well Pete and Rick and the guys have done. It was never going to stay the same once the businesses took off. Just glad the friendships are still there.
Yeah, it's very easy for the business side of things to go wrong and ruin friendships. Glad to see that seems to not have happened here. Nothing wrong with people growing apart and go in their separate directions, but it's always nice if it happens without any bitterness.
I want to see the fab four (Pete, Rick, Andy, Matt) get back together for a 2v2 match. You’ve all progressed so much.
I also think it will help them all progress more. It's what the people want to see and enjoy, it hits different when you get golf vids not just solo but friends playing together with banter and competition, good good is a great example.

People like to see pals having some banter together - Peter, Matt, Carter & Rick enjoyable videos. Good Good format works…. Not just about playing top pros this doesn’t always make good content.
It's true. Golfbidder challenge is the best! You and Rick are the big boys! Good to see Matt's channel growing too.
Pretty sure the match itself is the best part....don't really care about picking random clubs....most people are there just to see the match I would think. Getting matches setup is probably always going the best videos...and full 18 hole, stroke play matches at that.
@@PreppinShootinLivin I hear ya. But I'm an avid buyer of second hand clubs and I do like a good afternoon trolling golfbidder (and other second hand club outlets!) to see if I can pick up a bargain. Me and a few mates at my home club have our own retro club challenge (garage edition) twice a year so I do like the full content 👍🏼
I always enjoyed watching Rick and Peter collab videos because y’all just work well together. The golf bidder videos are always great content.
The Golfbidder Challenges got me back into golf and got me walking after i got out of hostpital due to spinal issues. I am ever grateful for those videos and both Yourself and Ricks channels in general as i was in a very dark place at the time and they reignited a passion i needed to distract me from the daily pain. Thank you so much🙏
I love Rick but he definitely went off on his own a bit relative to the rest of the Manchester Four (Carter, Fryer, Finch, Shiels) as you can still see the other 3 routinely showing up in their respective channels playing golf and generally keeping up the same shenanigans that got me subscribing to all 4 back in the lockdown days. Excited for the podcast, Pete!
Great news and liking the new podcast! I understand that there needs to be a "host" (Mick) to ask questions and steer the discussion, but I don't think it needs to be steered every 5 seconds, let people tell their stories!

Remember watching a lanky, geeky Pete playing with Rick years ago (think it was night golf in Portugal ?) - great to see everyone's still doing well; different personalities, different approaches but always entertaining & informative 👌

Babies and families, minor mega empires on youtube, moving back to the UK Matt, Rick, Andy and Pete. We understand that you guys are all busy, But some of your (collective) videos are hilarious. Some are breathtaking, Woburn Rick hitting out of that ditch. Possibly the finest scramble shot I've seen. The one where he hits it out over the trees to within a foot. I'm so glad to have seen them! There is nothing like watching old friends falling over themselves ribbing on each other. Matt and Andy are a show worth watching on their own. You can actually see Pete reliving some of these things in his eyes. good times, I've watched hours of you guys berating each other. Time well spent; I think.
I have improved my game from both Rick and Pete. These guys are both legends and amazingly generous in sharing their wisdom about the game. I would love to see some more collaborations between them.
Sure it was a bit awkward for Pete, but we’ve all been wondering for a long time. I’m sure a lot of your viewers are newer, but the Rick, Pete, and Andy videos were unmatched. Hopefully we can atleast get 2 or 3 vlogs a year together.
The thing I noticed when Rick and Peter used to film together often is they are a dynamic duo. Both good by themselves but together they are much more entertaining to watch. Similar to GoodGood, their individual channels are good but just don't compare to when they are all together.
I wish Peter and Rick could see/feel what the viewer sees/feels when watching them together. Their personalities click (on film, can't speak for off film), the play different but similar styles, and together they are easy and fun to watch.
However, I should be posting this on Rick's channel as Peter would definitely benefit greater from a partnership (based on subscribers).
Really enjoyed this clip and will be looking forward to more podcast episodes! Just a little bit of feedback, I think the newest member of your team needs to just sit back and allow people to speak without any kind of interjections or comments. Not to say he didn’t bring up interesting questions but sometimes it’s nicer to let the person’s words just sit with the audience for at least a few seconds before you hear another voice.
It’s nice to see the collabs but it’s been great to see your own content and it feels like it’s getting better and better and that hopefully you are enjoying it more and more. I hope you have another good year!
I love both you and Rick, Pete. I just hope you both don't forget about the type of videos that got you here - funny yet competitive matches at courses all around the world. Your 2-part match with Rick in Vegas is one of my favorites. No crew, no drones, just a camera, and two golfers. I know you're still creating competitive content, but 10 of the last 12 videos have been anything but. I'm worried that in your quest for higher production values, cooler venues, and higher-profile guests, you may lose sight of exactly why you've achieved the success you have. Looking forward to enjoying your content in 2023. All the best.

Honestly the GOOD GOOD stuff was good and all the other stuff Rick does is great. But my favorite videos were always with you and Rick together playing and the back and forth between you guys. It was always awesome. Can’t wait for more in the future

I loved the Golfbidder challenges, watched then so many times. The one where both Pete and Rick hit miracle shots out of the trees on the last hole to a foot was epic.

I know how amazing the production is from the various channels these days, but I would love to see an old school golf bidder challenge. Hand held cameras, just Rick and Pete holding the camera and talking smack around the course. Bring on the nostalgia
No doubt I'm a huge R S fan. No matter the hatters I think he's fantastic with original content and the things he's done have has brought him much deserved success. But, your channel is great as well. You do a fantastic job on all the content you provide on your channel. You have done a great job building your brand so to speak and you also deserve much success. My personal opinion, Peter finch is by far the best RUclips golfer...he explains his shots /club use..for me it's helped me play better golf..
Enjoyable listen Pete, RUclips golf is unrecognisable now. Going to be honest, don't watch Rick anymore, the heart seems to have left his channel. I get things change, but it's way too corporate, it's not real. I like the fact that even with 500k subscribers, you still seem to be you, you understand what it took to get you here, what your fans bought into it. I get the fact that business evolves, you are paying wages for employees now, but you have to keep the heart and soul in place. For me you do that, you are still you, and that's why I still subscribe. Good luck moving forward. Enjoy the podcasts, especially enjoy the tips even as a 17 hc, Best wishes Thorpie.
Glad you're rebooting the podcast, personally, I'd cut it from 4 people on the pod to either Peter and a set host, or max 3 people. 4 seems too much to me.
Good podcast. One suggestion though, the guy in the cap and the white shirt seemed to want to make it about him (example being the peninsula drone story, he wouldn’t let you tell your story and had to chip in every 10seconds!) I’m sure you’ve many great stories to tell and I look forward to hearing them, would just probably cut the ‘support cast’ down a bit.
And that Voiceover at the end. Bloody brilliant. Soothing 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It kinda felt like he cut you out cause he thought he was too cool for school or something like that. At the same time, there were a ton of very sarcastic jokes being thrown his way by you Mr. Finch. I’m glad you two are well and filming again. The Golfbidder challenge is a very awesome series.

Pete, I think you can find a niche by highlighting female and junior golfers. I don't think that happens enough, and it's a big growth area for golf.
Love the content Pete, and really love the videos when you and the boys get together (Rick, Andy, and Matt) and also really loved the hell out of the Golf Bidder series, hopefully you get to do more videos together!

It's nice that you took the time to clear the air in regards to you & Rick.👍 I got so use to watching Peter & Rick's mutual content. Became big fans of all 4 of the guys(Fryer, Shiels, Carter, & Pete). And then 1 day it kinda stopped. Well atleast you all filming content together. And as much as I miss watching the dynamic between the 4 friends. I understand that you each have to do what's best for yourself. Hopefully you can manage to atleast do a handful of videos together. And that you guys continue being successful on RUclips!

I’ve recently turned Professional and I am doing my PGA. I stay next to Dundonald links and if you are ever back up Pete it would be great to get a game with you and a few of the other guys I know that are attached there. Also keep up the great content and all the best with the podcast 👍🏻

Feel like things just got a bit awkward after Rick and Guy basically said Pete was wasting his time doing the Open qualifying as he's not good enough etc. It quite rightly went down really badly and think the audience was like that was just unnecessary as that is part of the beauty of the Open that anyone can qualify. Good on Pete for giving it a go, anyone who is good enough to try has my admiration. Things between Rick and Pete just haven't been the same since.
I love the @Golfbidder videos however the night golf in Turkey where the fox stole the head over was my favourite collaboration video set.

The ‘fall out’ happened basically when Guy arrived on the scene, then it went to shit… Guy calling out Pete saying he’s not as good as he thinks he is etc and Rick agreeing definitely didn’t help
Followed by a very uncomfortable podcast with the two of them on Ricks site.

I remember Guy saying that thinking it was classless and looking at Rick agreeing with it thinking, "Why are you letting this guy talk about your friend like that? This RUclips thing isn't gonna be forever. Friendships are more important than any of this."
I think you’re slightly over exaggerating. Rick and Guy only said that at some point Pete should consider stopping the quest to the open series because it’s ultra competitive and realistically Pete isn’t at that level

Just watched the old Rick Shiels podcast which I never originally saw. What I perceive is Guy has an issue with Peter perhaps due to how close they were and he saw Peter as a threat to his relationship with Rick. Was pretty poor and I understand why there hasn't been any content since.
Honestly Pete, your channel has always been a first click for me as I feel it's more realistic. Particularly how you worked through the mental aspect of the game which obviously was tough last year with covid + injuries. Keep up the good work, and please forget making videos in the UK over Winter, come join us in Australia for a hit in our courses.
As a few people have already said you and the lads were needed for the good good challenge, it was a a bloodbath! But tbh I think Ricks main issue is the fact that Pete is a better golfer, disappointing if true, there's an old saying "a rising tide floats all boats", there's plenty of room for everyone's golf channel Rick, if you're listening!
I loved watching you kick Shielsies butt on the golf course!!! I still love Rick Shiels show but boy do I miss the golf bidder challenges. It's been great watching you and the RUclips golf community grow over the years. Keep up the great entertainment.

For me the friends playing a round and the banter is brilliant its why golf is golf we want to play great we want consistency but we also want the enjoyment of friends.like i said its not all about the tour pros.your videos peter are very entertaining with rick mat and carter.characters my friend thats pure golf 😀

Pete said he was speculating, but I think he's right: Rick probably has more to gain by filming with people who also have not just large audiences but hyper-large audiences. (I'd add that there's probably a lot of overlap between the people who subscribe to Pete and the people who subscribe to Rick, so I'm not sure there's much opportunity growth there.) *But then again* -Garrett Clark has always had massively more subscribes than any other GoodGood member and, at least for a long time, even GoodGood itself. But, though he still does some solo stuff, he banked that people would be drawn to the relationship between friends consistently playing golf and participating in videos, and I think that was a good call. I wonder what might've happened if Rick had taken a similar approach-even doing a weekly (or even monthly) video with Pete (and optional guests) and otherwise operating independently. The friendly-competitive dynamic between the two was a big draw for me to Rick's channel.

I remember roughly halfway through last year that you challenged Rick to a match, and he accepted on his podcast. He said to give him a few weeks as he was working on his swing at the time. I'm not sure if something just didn't pan out from that.
The golfbidder challenges were great. Could even bump up to £750 to get slightly newer gear. Another one I remember was with you, Matt and Rick swapping clubs as you all got to try things you wouldn't normally try/test/use (old bluey the relic is still in the bag).
Other ideas are to both pick your favourite course over the last 12 months and go play it.
No beef with Rick Shiels. I watch his content from time to time.
Peter's videos, premises, scripting and delivery is more professional, better informed/researched, and c'mon, the Elephant in the room.......Peter's got a lot better game than most of his Northern England YT golf compadres.
Shiels' game has been lost in the bog for the last year, and he shouldn't be playing off the Tips with anyone, even if they give him 10 shots over 18.

I really liked the old ‘simpler’ vlogs - especially when the big4 got together. That sort of banter is so entertaining and unfortunately so hard to recreate in the new format.
I love how you really showcased women’s golf for a while.
Playing with the Tour Pros like everyone else, but just them being the women’s pros.
Think they get way less camera time than they deserve!

Loving the podcast. Great to hear from you in a bit more depth Pete. And with no offense meant to the guys around the table I think a two person format works a little better, it was difficult at times to follow the chat which changed direction a lot. Overall great pod 👍
Being open with who you would film with, absolute bandits would be a great channel to partner up with for a video. Oaks and Tom trying to improve on their golf would be good to watch the difference in standards also. Great insight to the relationship between you and Rick. Can understand what has happened with the massive growth in Rick's channel. Great content. Love the pod

A cpl of suggestions, why don't you try & arrange a RUclips Masters or Ryder Cup between the UK & US golf youtuber channels. Think it would be something worthwhile & generate a lot of interest for everyone involved!
Personally, I don’t care either way about big names on Rick’s channel. I liked watching the old videos. The first time I saw Peter in a Shiels video, they were hung over because they were celebrating getting like 100k subscribers. What I liked about those videos was it made me realize real golf is very different from what we see on PGA coverage. I’m just saying I get why you guys want to step up the content, but don’t forget that a lot of us started watching you because it was raw and real.
That weather in the UK looks bloody awful lads. I’m staying here until at least April!
