He does seem quite combative. I made a longer comment about how I don't really understand why he's so worried that a RUclips golfers fans will think the golfer is better than he actually is: Rick is the biggest RUclips golfer, and no one thinks he's the best of them! Bryson and Wesley Bryan are both on RUclips, but they're mid-tier (or for Bryson maybe low-tier) in terms of subscribers. But what's weird is that Guy seems intent "playing devil's advocate," but to what end? Does he just want Peter to say "You're right, I'm not very good! I'll include a disclaimer on all of my future videos."

Need to put a leash on your boy now Rick. Guy has some interesting points to raise, but now he's taking over and just being outright hurtful at times, he's often very unfair to Pete and some overs. The guests are on to share their points of view, yes it's good to hear from hosts from time to time, but it's not for them to push their opinions and make guests feel uncomfortable.
I particularly don't like Guy's "you play loads of golf and you're not that great" attitude. Yes Pete plays a lot of golf, but the vast majority it is very very maaaasively far from quality training. He uses unfamiliar clubs, he explains shots he wouldn't normally play, he has to constantly think about what he's saying to camera to make it entertaining. Real practice is not entertaining, it's a grind, a top player may spend 2 hours with a single club, just grinding, fully focused, not saying a thing, looking at data, just grinding... Pete's not doing that, he's playing a 1 iron out of a bunker whilst being entertaining to camera, on top of that he's a content creator and that takes a hell of a lot of time and mental energy to consider and create.

They covered this a bit in the video, both Pete and Ricks days are busy with other golf and you. Tube stuff not 100% practice. Just watched an interview with Faldo saying in his prime hitting upto 1500 balls a day….hard to believe that given his pace of play / set up but that sort of single minded focus is what it takes. Pete has stated it’s not to become a tour player it’s to get into the open, and why not he meets the handicap criteria give it a go he won’t have any regrets later in life

I very very rarely leave comments and I've watched Pete and Rick for years. I was unaware of the controversy so went back and checked it out as well as this video. Have to say I'm really disappointed. It feels like Rick has forgotten where he came from and along with Guy, who to be honest comes across very poorly, they seem to taking a ride on their own hype train. The kind of passive aggressive and supposedly innocent questions and comments from Guy are extraordinarily poor behaviour - it's uncomfortable to watch. Rick - it feels like you're also jumping on Guy's bandwagon at times with all that. And of course, all the while you try to present yourselves as innocent and misunderstood. No, I think what has happened here is that some true colours have been shown and in this video you're desperately trying to backtrack due to the very many folks who have left very fair and balanced criticism (not social media over-reactions!) - it's excruciating as you try to make up to Pete while at the same time Guy still behaves in very much the same way and Pete bites his tongue. Who exactly do you think you guys are? It's not the first time my eyebrows have been raised by what Guy has had to say but I gave benefit of the doubt before but not after this - is this the Guy Show or Rick's? The only person who comes out of this with any credit is the person you both chose to treat very poorly - all the best Pete, I'd advise you to forget all about Guy and Rick. As for RS I'm now unsubscribed, along with many others i expect. Time for Guy and Rick to remind themselves of what having humility and being humble really means.

He’s the kind of guy you want as a mate. He’s a credit to himself and his family. I’ve no idea who Guy is, or the relationship he has with Rick, but his tone is often completely at odds with the vibe of the channel.
Ricks self deprecating humour is great. But it’s not self-depreciation if you’re doing it to someone else, and Guy hasn’t earned the respect of the audience to be tearing down someone like Pete, who was a big part of Rick’s come up.

There's a good reason that Petes channel lags behind Ricks.
Being so self indulgent and making such pointless videos with inevitable failure at the end is one of those reasons.
Do you remember when Rick also did the Quest for the Open? He soon realised he wasn't good nearly enough. Why hasn't Pete realised what we all have? Isn't it conceited and egotistical to keep trying something you are demonstrably incapable of a
Achieving? No one who actually knows the sport thinks he is capable, so why not try something which he might have a chance of because it's obvious he isn't good enough to even reach final qualifying.
Would you watch a video of a guy who could only run the 100m in 15 seconds trying to qualify for the Olympics? No. Because you'd know its going to fail.
Petes attempt is every bit as futile as that.

I like the idea of someone coming in as a casual golfer for a different perspective but not when he’s demeaning someone like Pete who is putting himself out there to compete.
Just as a point of reference, Pete finished pretty much middle of the bunch at Regional qualifying when only 9 players broke par. I don’t see Guy questioning the practicing habits of the full time golfers who didn’t make final qualifying or even finished below Pete.
I’ve watched or listened to all of the podcasts and, over the piece, there have been comments from Guy which have made me stop in my tracks but this has taken it to another level. My worry is that with Guy’s addiction to numbers and hits, this may be more premeditated than our comments are all assuming.

Having watched probably 90% of Pete's stuff over the last six years, pretty much every vlog he and Rick used to do, and as someone who wants to see Pete get better and beat people in matches, he can be as frustrating as McIlroy. As in he'll have done videos of stuff he's working on, it's working on the course, then he misses a 2 foot putt. This is a personal attack from Guy on Pete. I’ll be unsubscribing now , not here for this. It’s actually made me respect Pete a lot more 👏

As uncomfortable as it was at times, I definitely respect Guy for continuing to push the social media perception angle. And I agree, Pete's Open video about his life and what it takes as a whole created a more rounded view of him as a golfer. And more such content would create a more accurate representation of himself. 👌🏻👍🏻

Rick and Peter needs to get up and slap Guy for being rude and over stepping his boundaries.

Peter finch conducted himself like the king he is. Keep the head held high and solider on young Zulu warrior
