Think the Rahm rumour is mainly due to Golf Digest having a slow news day. Nothing of interest coming out as news so let's start a rumour. None of them would give their money back and return to PGA as that would just show it truly was all about money and nothing to do with schedules and expanding/bettering the game.
Agree re slow news day element and again agree certain Liv players wouldn't want to give ALL of their money back but would there be an amount they would be prepared to pay to get back full time on the PGA Tour ? Would Rahm for instance be happy to pay back 100/200 million to exit ? Hypothetical I know but money talks ( both ways )
Even if gave some back , the fact that they want to return proves that their reasons for leaving , i.e. Schedule, developing game etc where really just an attempt to hide the fact that it was only the money. The embarrassment factor if they returned would be immense plus the amount of social media would probably crash the system. If they went for the money then fair enough but attempting to justify it with other excuses made it silly , I have no problem with them taking the money just don't try hiding the fact and be honest about it.
Peter Finch, the most expensive green fee I've paid is £32. I would consider spending £50, £60 or even £70 but above that I'd feel under such pressure to perform, I'd worry that I would not enjoy it.
Went to Cabo and had a great time at a course there. $350, included the golf and amenities. Food houses every 3 or 4 holes. 2 drinks per house and each had its own special food item. Example tacos at one and hot dog at another, etc. Pretty good deal I think (kind of) for golf, breakfast, lunch, drinks, and the views were amazing.
Another option for the end of season tournament is to have a tournament within a tournament, have the top 10 (have some sort of tie break match play or something if there is ties) play for the top prizes, and then have the rest play for 11th and above prize out ahead of them or on a different course at the same time and intertwinedinto the main broadcast. Personally I think the added stokes thing isn't a great way to do it, but also feel that people want to see the players that are in the top of the field over the year to be in the mix and unlike in a regular tournament where you love to see a guy come out of no where and win it, for a season long event to be won by someone like that seems wrong. But that's my opinion
Finchy, I still can't believe that par 4 eagle you hit against Matt. Off balance lob wedge out of the rough and straight in the cup. The single greatest shot I have ever seen!
I'm heading to the Canadian Maritimes this fall and to get a tee-time at Cabot Cliffs, I also had to pay for a room, overall cost will be around $1200 CAD
I agree with the fairway woods. I'm playing Nicklaus AirMax fairway woods that I've had for well over 20 years. I have 3, 5, and 7 and love them all. I'd still like to try some newer ones just to feel the potential difference, but I'm still very confident in my old fw woods.
I have a callaway x2 hot 3 wood with 13 degrees of loft instead of 15. The same 3 wood Phil won the open with when he had two 3 woods and no driver, I also have a putter I’ve used for 17 years. It has weights on it and it’s ugly but I would never get rid of it
I think the reason they are that expensive (1000 ) is that they want to limit the numbers on guest players. That will leave room for the ones staying at the resort it self. They are just putting priority on hotel guests.
ending the PGA season with match play makes as much sense as ending the Premier League on a 5 a side match.. Strokeplay the whole season, has to end in strokeplay
I was at the head pro event last night, really enjoyed it hopefully you'll be back in the area in the future, maybe you and James can complete the trilogy. Must also say you've got a really good team, all very pleasant and do some amount of work putting the videos together. 👍
End of season format: Top 4 players automatically make it into the quarter finals for match play on Saturday. Play quarter and semi finals on Saturday and the finals on Sunday. All the rest play stroke play Thursday Friday with the top 4 making to the match play quarter finals, and the rest continue to play stroke play for Saturday and Sunday for the rest of the ranking and to keep the broadcast from getting boring like match play finals always are.
They have said in interviews that they are very happy and I’m pretty sure their bank accounts are in much better shape with LIV Golf than they would be on the PGA. This kind of seems like Clickbait.
I love golf, but there is so many good courses that are cheep... so with that said I would never pay more then 100 pounds for a round and then I mean at a very good course... Everything above 60-70 pounds makes me think more then twice. I think around 30-40 pounds is ok.
Here is what i don't understand on the Turnberry costing, The course is constantly empty, I looked last night as it was being discussed on another pod cast, I could book tee times today for anytime of the day starting from £425 the place is empty, they already run off a loss each year as a business it isn't viable to put the prices up to £1000 a round now if it was the old course at St Andrews i could understand it as the course is booked out usually for the full year. I'm down the west coast a lot playing courses down there and anytime i drive past Turnberry the place is dead. I wouldn't pay £1000 for a round at Turnberry when i can go play say Prestwick for £300 or Troon for £420 or the old course for £320 it isn't that good.
I’m not a great golfer but I enjoy going out to play with my mates and I would rather be doing that than watching golf on tv and I’m sure a lot of other people would too
I think the final round of the FedEx could take a true playoff format... Instead of the last 30 qualifying, let 32 in and play as a match play. The rankings of the top 32 give you your seeding for the matchplay. Much more opportunity for different players to win rather than the extra shot headstart etc They could still do the 10M bonus but to win a season long league and then also win a big match play would really prove you the best of the year
I am 79 and have played since 1969. Jack N. McGregor forged irons and woods! Was a scratch golfer from 1973 to late 1990’s. My point grew up watching the Greats. Arnie, Jack, Gary, Billy, Tony! Went to LIV @ JCB and I’ll be honest. I absolutely f#*king loved it. No less professional and the lads are playing to win. It’s time we started talking about a LIV vs PGA Ryder Cup style event @ Trump National
Whatever St Andrews Old Course charges for a round of golf is the maximum I would pay to play, or at least in that ballpark. 1000 dollars is just f**king stupid rip-off
You are right, Peter, that the LIV leader board is strong. What's also great is that Rahm and Hatton have taken two young guys under their wing (Kieran and Caleb). I'm sure there will come some great talents from this set-up of team golf with great players mentoring the early Pros!
There is no personal investment into pro golf.. we the viewers really have no idea what these golfers are like behind the scenes. The “full swing” series and RUclips is slowly bringing that out but the pga needs to double down on that. We also need ball tracers on every single shot and maybe even some mics to listen on the pre shot calculation so we know what shot theyre trying to make and what club they’re using. Do all that and golf will undoubtedly be in a better place
I have been very fortunate to play Pebble Beach 5 times (3 rounds for free) and gladly paid the $500 green fee when I had to but that is the absolute limit for me. $1000 is just too much for golf at any course (other than Augusta).
The most ive paid to play a round of golf is £40. Id like to play Dundonald Links but incant justify payiny £120 for a round of golf. I hate when courses bump up the orice because they have a fancy hotel and the course is average at best
Enjoyable pod as always - Rahm has made his statement about not wanting to go back so not sure why people say that's not what he really thinks - only one person knows and that's Rahm. I think all live golf is struggling - I watch far more RUclips golf now than PGA or DP Tour
Always hated the fedex cup just dony see the point - think a match pkay even at the end of the year would be brilliant but ultimately there is too much money for players
And it now turns out that highly respected golf Journo Jaime Diaz fabricated the story about Rahm. His source was his opinion, and simply based on things Rahm had said months earlier when asked if he missed playing certain PGAT events. “That was an informed opinion - the source of my story - and it wasn’t an isolated one that he expressed,” the Golf Digest journalist explained. “I think it’s speculative, but considering his early comments about defending his titles from last year earlier in the season, he said that,” Diaz added.
I think "true" golfers would prefer to play a course on the open rota rather than a "supposedly better" course. Turnberry is clearly now marketed at rich overseas visitors who want to claim we have played the "most" expensive course.
The rumors make things so black and white in this regard.. I am pretty sure Rahm still enjoys the money and I really don’t think he’ll leave. However.. I am also pretty sure he misses the “real” competition and is a little bit bored with LIV. He is in the game to compete and LIV is a hybrid between competition and exhibition. He will never admit it but I really believe that he wouldn’t have went today but he is neither as “unhappy” as the rumors say
Stop complaining golf is too expensive. There are different level courses for different people. He is the same person that complains cars, watches, and homes are too expensive. While talking about a Lamborghini, rolex, and mansion. Buy a Hyundai, Casio, and a townhome.
A lot of us pay higher fees to avoid hackers and guys who are there to drink and not for the golf. It is all relative. Golf is my passion. I will pay more for a round, but eat at home, drive a modest car and do without the latest IPhone ( I use an 8 year old android).
Nobody misses any of those guys. In the rest of the world, people think Liv is on equal footing, and it's not. In the States very few people care at all about Liv.

I posted this and then saw the top comment was “liv talk starts at 26:00”……Jesus….says it all. No offence Pete, love your content in general.
Saying that LIV is top heavy, is disingenuous, the top 20 players against the rest of the field is no different as a ratio than the PGA. Let’s be honest, the top 10 in the PGA win or contend in the events they play. Some of the minor, less supported PGA events, I don’t recognise many of the names. As i have said in another post, viewing figures across all platforms for LIV is north of 3m ov er 3 days. Because of Lahiri, India has been enfranchised and the TV figures there are amazing. Australia was robbed by the PGA Tour, the Australian Open used to be the best PGA players enter, and stay in Australia for a few events, not now, LIV is giving Australian golf a face again, including the Rippers team
I don't think having Jon Rahm and Bryson De Chambeau at the Fedex playoffs will make you guys remember where it is being played. Golf has a problem as the players for me are too greedy. I don't care how much money is made but Golf seems to make this something important, which just makes me depressed when I see suffering of people around the world, which makes me turn off professional golf at the moment.
The PGA Tour has a stranglehold on golf, and is why they are so protective of their control. Hence, the dirty tricks levied at LIV and the players who have left to play at LIV. Lest we ever forget history, how the PGA Tour was formed, it challenged the those in control of golf in the USA,, who managed golf in the days of Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus who were the instigators of the takeover of professional golf in the USA. They have ensured they control golf in the USA. Money and greed is the root of all evil, and we have witnessed this first hand. The bad blood came from the PGA Tour, not LIV, remember that fact. The tour acted like spoilt brats, when someone took their toy off them. Remember is the USA there exists laws regarding anti-competitive practices. Which is exactly what the PGA Tour did from day one. They have stalled the deal with LIV to ensure they avoid litigation, which LIV would have won. At the time, the only people winning were the expensive lawyers, who milk clients like greedy over indulgent children.
Liv is growing! Got to love it. The rahm stuff is so stupid. Rahm is just fine! The pga tour have good coverage because of the agenda against liv. Its ridiculous, liv needs more love.
Rory needs to go to liv, he gets grief week in week out on the PGA. They also sold him out. He's achieved more than most players so take the money and enjoy playing pitch and putt for millions.
I agree with taking the millions. Could have been a billion if he’d played his cards right. But playing from the tips at Valderrama is “pitch and putt”? Shooting under par there is as tough a test of golf as there is. Sergio won this year with 5 under. Go figure.
Golf should never involve itself in politics, when it does, it fragments the game, and that is not what golf is about. Everyone was fine with D.Trump, prior to him getting involved in politics, too many forget that simple truth. His business interests, coupled with his Apprentice series, was followed by hundreds of millions, globally, nobody had a problem with him. But as soon as he challenges the status quo, he becomes public enemy number one, to those pulling the strings, who then convince everyone, Trump is suddenly the bad guy. No, reality is, Trump is a thorn in the sides of the ruling class, someone they can't control, unlike the other puppets. So the deep state, have used every trick in the book to blacken his name, otherwise known as a hatchet job. Which the MSM, who are also controlled by the ruling class deep state, have been used to create the needed propaganda, which people feed into, rather than realising they are being played. Trump loves golf, he is a good golfer, especially given his age, much better than people give him credit for.
Golfers in liv have no pressure to win. They have guaranteed contracts.. they can’t go back to an organization that banned them anyway.Slow slow news days I guess
The LIV bots here are rough; makes sense with Saudi investment money going through guys like Pete and Rick. It's so pathetic to listen to you guys try and make LIV sound like something that people actually care about lol
Sportswashing seems to work on too many people. Taking Saudi investment for LIV promotion/normalisation would be extremely short sighted and disappointing for the youtubers. I can see that new Sidemen golf group taking the money with a very young impressionable audience.

Jon who?
All these golf pods could be 10-15 mins long and attract quadruple the views…..so much guff, unfunny small talk, needless chat…….just get to the points you advertise in the title in the first minute and you’ll massively increase your views. I posted this and then saw the top comment was “liv talk starts at 26:00”……Jesus….says it all. No offence Pete, love your content in general.
This is a podcast. It's designed to be longform content. They do make short form clips from this long form and post them as shorter videos.
I would never pay more than 100 euro's
200 quid nothing more
It seams like a payout for the top players like the PIP. Who cares?
Liv is players winning vast amounts of money. Keopka could have been a legend of golf, 5 time major winner. Who cares what he wins in liv?
Rory needs to go to liv, he gets grief week in week out on the PGA. They also sold him out. He's achieved more than most players so take the money and enjoy playing pitch and putt for millions.
I agree with taking the millions. Could have been a billion if he’d played his cards right. But playing from the tips at Valderrama is “pitch and putt”? Shooting under par there is as tough a test of golf as there is. Sergio won this year with 5 under. Go figure.
No one wants Rory at LIV! 😂
@@Calmdown1354if Rory even showed the slightest bit of interest Liv would throw any amount of money at him
@vanbalzup6481 I was joking, I don't mind LIV, I went to JCB. Just a bit of tongue and cheek.
@@decentcomment9447its muted that Rory is considering captaining a team, he feels betrayed. I know members at Holywood GC who were discussing with him
Nope
not playing the open on a course because of its owner is everything wrong with golf
Answer is no, this is just click bait and nothing more
Rick ain’t good enough to be in it ffs be real 😂😂😂😂
Seems like everyone in golf is going to be kinda of unhappy until the epidemic of bro culture has finished sweeping the sport.
The LIV product is terrible. Player’s games have deteriorated since joining. It’ll all end soon enough.
I payed £520 to play both courses at sunningdale earlier this year and it was worth every penny 👍
You keep telling yourself that 😂😂😂😂 absolutely 💯 over priced 😮
Dear God that music at the beginning, turn it down please! Or preferably just turn it off.
You know that you could do that?
Murica!
Podcast about a quote from SkySports Jamie Diaz who is always making up shit and is part of the CGM,. Peter and team could not have picked a dumber thing to talk about.
The greatest footballers Eg play on the greatest stadiums ..which is because they are the best ...but Turnberry will be played by fat people who have money
