Hi Michelle great tutorial I purchased the Jarrah a couple of weeks ago and made the plain boxed top I found it quite wide and may try dropping down a size.I also made a top in the same pattern but left out the sleeves so it’s more like a slip over I just hemmed the armholes it looks really good with a blouse underneath and used very little fabric. I think it’s great how many tutorials you do they will help loads of people wanting to learn how to sew x
What a great idea making a vest out of the pattern 😁 thank you so much for watching and I’m so pleased you think my sew alongs are good for beginners 🥰
What a great sweater top, Michelle! I’ve been sewing longer than you are old, and I always learn new things from your sew alongs. 💗 Your tip on the thread end with the seam ripper to save most of the label is genius. 🤩 Thanks for that, and for your thorough, well spoken videos.
Yeah I used to do that all the time. I think I have sewn so many now I have a natural feeling for it but yes would recommend doing the 1/4 pinning first 👍
Your jarrah sweat shirt sew along was really good. I love your fabric. Your back garden looks wonderful. You both must be pleased with it. Thanks again Michelle. 🌺
That top is so cozy looking, and looks adorable on you! Love your videos. I am in the USA to it's very difficult to donate. Looking very forward to your next sew along. I soooooooooo enjoy them and learn some thing each time.
Sew cute Michelle!! Love this!! Loved your visitor while trying to sew this up....lol...my cat is exactly the same except he will just lay down on my fabric and not move....pattern paper too...but they are so lovable 😊 ❤️
😍😍 Thank you so much …. Your sew-a-longs are fabulous- so clear! I learn so many ‘top tips’. I haven’t got this pattern yet, but I might need to add it to my list!
Michelle, that top looks so nice on you! I thoroughly enjoyed this sewalong even tho the top is not my style so don’t feel inclined to make it. I was intrigued to see how it went together and I always learn from your sewalongs. You must have been a teacher in a former life. Lol. I love your way of explaining the steps so clearly. Excellent job!x
Great sew along. It's always interesting to see how someone else sews with the overlocker. I always insert my pins the other way with a reg machine or overlocker I find better control removing them as I'm sewing .... Pin point pointed in. When I want to keep the pin in place in a sketchy area of multi layers etc, I point the pin towards the edge, but the pin stays secure in the garment and won't be near the blade but secures the area for overlocking.... Pinning parallel to the seam I feel the pins are in my visual way especially on a narrower neckline of sleeves etc. And requires more stopping to remove the pin because the length of it.... Is just in the way.
That looks great Michelle. I have some cable knit which I want to use for the dipped back version. Spring here now although it was very warm today so that will be a next year job. Lovely to see Bentley and Misty assisting. Take care.
Thank you so much for your clear video. I think I can now re-visit the t-shirt pattern I’d struggled with, I’m definitely going to try the collar and cuffs the ‘Michelle way’ - I’d used a very stiff ribbing previously and it was a complete failure! Your finished top looks so cozy and warm I suspect Misty and Bently will be very keen for a cuddle! 😻😻
Thank you so much Michelle for the great sew a long. I have made the tie version twice now, the latest one i cut a facing using the bottom of front piece. It made the ties much easier but it is a bit bulky as i was using Cosy Colours Sweatshirting.
Thanks Michelle, any time I sew a stretch top I sew/ overlock cotton tape or thin ribbon along the shoulder seams to give added strength as it is a high pressure area. I always get tape or ribbon around fabric I've ordered so I use that. Like you I love to overlock the neck band directly.
Yes it’s a good habit to do with the shoulders 👍 I sometimes use knit interfacing for shoulder seams but I only do it sometimes if I remember to do it 😂
Great video Michelle! I’ve already made this using view B with collar view D. It turned out very nice, but was far too baggy for me, so I think I will size down next time. I never had Maraflex then either built have now. Thanks x Lin
I have not used maraflex yet. Is the colour code not printed round the top edge of the reel? I’m surprised there is no facing on the tie because the wrong side may show? I guess you’re lucky to have the same colour back. Great video.
Haya. Wonderful video 🤩AAwwww kitty helper 😺Your sweater is 'seeeeeeew' lovely on you, gorgeous fabric 😍Cannot thanku enough for all your hard work with your wonderful sew alongs 💙Thanku 'sew' much for sharing. xx 🪡🧵
I use the tracing paper from morplan, I think I should of listed it in the description box but if you can’t find it let me know and I’ll look it up for you x
Your top turned out nice and, I love it when your cats jump in for cuddles 🥰
Ahh thank you! Yeah it’s nice having the cats around 😻

Aww it’s so lovely to hear you enjoy my sew alongs! X
I always quarter the neckbands and neckline to ensure I have even stretch. Just a habit from early days of stretch sewing.
Yeah I used to do that all the time. I think I have sewn so many now I have a natural feeling for it but yes would recommend doing the 1/4 pinning first 👍

Love the Jarrah and I've made 3 versions of the dipped hem version. Your explanation for the ties is really good Michelle.
Ahh I want to try the dipped hem version next I think I will really like that one 😁
Lovely top with an absolutely excellent tutorial. Looks great on you
Ahh thank you 🥰

Ohh I love the cosy colours fabrics! Yeah the ties with a facing is a great idea 👍

Tee Shirt turned out beautifully.. Great Job. Thank you for sharing.
Ahh thank you so much 🥰
Helpful sew along. Thank you Michelle!
Thank you 😊
The top looks lovely on you - the colour and the style really suit you. Your garden is looking rather different from previous pics also...
Thank you Eileen! Yes garden is finished and hope to share a bit of a before and after in a vlog soon x
Thank you. Very useful tips ❤
Thank you 😊
Thank you, just bought this fabric after watching your video. It’s reduced too 😊.
Ahh that’s great 😃 x
Great video Michelle! I’ve already made this using view B with collar view D. It turned out very nice, but was far too baggy for me, so I think I will size down next time. I never had Maraflex then either built have now. Thanks x Lin
Yeah it is quite an over sized sweater. Hope you enjoy the next one! Thank you for watching xx

I’m surprised there is no facing on the tie because the wrong side may show? I guess you’re lucky to have the same colour back. Great video.
I don’t think the code is anywhere other than the sticker from what I can see. Yeah I think a facing would be a good idea for the ties 👍
Looks Great, Color is Great on you
Thank you 😊

Aww thank you! 😘
What do you use for tracing out please?
I use the tracing paper from morplan, I think I should of listed it in the description box but if you can’t find it let me know and I’ll look it up for you x
Love your tutorials but hate the green wall… lol!
Haha 😂 yeah I know it isn’t for everyone
